Please don't tell me this is Draymond's fault again.. If another grown man pulls me by the head, he'll catch these hands for real. Then they'll say Green has a history of being dirty |

WeissBarlow:So explain to us how being slapped with a fist and pulled being pulled by the jersey by Bradley Beal in 2018 reguler season has anything to do with 2016 playoffs.. Let's just call an ejection because it's him even if he was clearly slapped and pulled ![]() |

Kelly Oubre definitely getting a ban after this. Tried punching Klay Thompson twice but ended up punching his teammate but it's the Warriors always full of dirty players right? |

WeissBarlow:So you mean to say if you're a ref, you'll make an obvious wrong call in 2018 regular season because of a 2016 playoff run? Yeha, that's smart. I'll just keep quiet here.. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 5:47am On Oct 28, 2017 |
SmooshCHN:Lol. Question is whether draymond has a dirty history or not. He does. What are you protesting? |

Eruditor:Solid point there buh I'll reserve my comment cuz this argument is more delicate than anyone could think about.... It's a fine line here and being for or against comes with its own merits or demerits...... It could be a racist claim or not...... Buh I believe why PP said so maybe cuz Curry is lemme put it this way "the temporary face of the nba"...... The plan was to transfer it from LeBron to Durant Buh now Durant is still playing second fiddle to curry cuz its curry team and not Durant's own..... it's just my own opinion, just as PP has the right to his opinions also...... |

WeissBarlow:If someone says Malia Obama got into Harvard [but her parents are legacy and her father is a former president] does that not subtly mean she may have not merited it on academic grounds? I don't understand your line of reasoning and bringing Kyrie into this. Why does nobody relate Lebron's skill to "I am sure his dad must have been a tall athletic freak or something"? Because doing that will to some degree taint the luster of the player they want to make him out to be. There is really no point with the back and forths as valid points through analogies will just get strained into unnecessary arguments. You literally said Drake acts black even when Charlemagne and even other black rappers are known for calling him a "light-skin" dude. Or the same Drake who said; "I used to get teased about being black and now I'm here and I'm not black enough. 'cause I'm not acting tough and making stories about where I'm actually from". Or do you have the song where he associated himself with gangsta life and hood struggles? Dude, the point about Eminem is that he is largely more successful than Tupac, BIG and even Jay Z in terms of pure album sales. He freestyles better than them all. Has better word play and rhyme schemes. Shows more versatility etc yet he gets honorable mentions in such lists when he should really be topping it. That is the point. And yes, 100% he would have topped all such lists if he was black skinned. You seem to walk around NBA circles a lot to expect players to say anything to you or maybe the NBA players themselves should come out and announce that Curry's skin complexion feeds into their jealousy of him. I don't know how that works when juxtaposed with common sense. If WestBrook was not unanimous MVP or regarded as the best PG in the NBA you don't wager it had to do with the fact that some other player had an equally great season as him? Or you think SC would have been a unanimous MVP in 15/16 had WestBrook posted his 16/17 stats that same year? Or should we keep stretching these analogies about skin/complexion biases like yoga-exercises? |

Eruditor:WHAAAAAT? when did academics become athletics? So because you learned to shoot from your father you dont deserve merit for being a great shooter? Did they say curry is in the NBA because of his fathers legacy? This is a very unreasonable comparison. FYI when it comes to getting into ivy league schools, recommendations also matter. Very few get into ivy league schools without recommendation. But she has to be at least smart enough to be in the conversation but thats another issue... I don't understand your line of reasoning and bringing Kyrie into this. Why does nobody relate Lebron's skill to "I am sure his dad must have been a tall athletic freak or something"? Because doing that will to some degree taint the luster of the player they want to make him out to be.LMAO, You said people talk about currys dad when talking about his skills to "discredit him" partly because hes light skinned, for kyrie people not only bring up his father but his alma mater as well. I repeat, its just to talk about his background. I have never seen any sports person in any sport with any sports back ground whose success isnt partially attributed to his background, let alone coming from a family where your parents played the same sport. Theres nothing unnatural about that, geez! Lebron didnt have a father, nor did he have any sportsperson in his family, who would they associate him with? There is really no point with the back and forths as valid points through analogies will just get strained into unnecessary arguments. You literally said Drake acts black even when Charlemagne and even other black rappers are known for calling him a "light-skin" dude. Or the same Drake who said; "I used to get teased about being black and now I'm here and I'm not black enough. 'cause I'm not acting tough and making stories about where I'm actually from". Or do you have the song where he associated himself with gangsta life and hood struggles? So acting hood or gangster means acting black yeah? You my friend are a racist! If you've never heard drake talking about gangster stuff then you dont listen to his music. I'm not even a fan, not by a long shot and i know this. You dont know what you're saying. I'd say you're confused but then our criteria and taste clearly very different. You seem to walk around NBA circles a lot to expect players to say anything to you or maybe the NBA players themselves should come out and announce that they Curry's skin complexion feeds into their jealousy of him. I don't know how that works when juxtaposed with common sense.LMAO No one has ever said anything, i dont see any reason to reach. Not everyone has a light skin complex like you. If WestBrook was not unanimous MVP or regarded as the best PG in the NBA you don't wager it had to do with the fact that some other player had an equally great season as him? Or you think SC would have been a unanimous MVP in 15/16 had WestBrook posted his 16/17 stats that same year? Or should we keep stretching these analogies about skin/complexion biases like yoga-exercises?You keep confusing yourself, steph got his credit when he deserved it in an unprecedented manner, if someone held any prejudice towards him they'd reach like you are right now. It wont be a landslide. If he wants to be respected beyond his current level then he should keeping doing what no one can deny like everyone else whose climbed higher up the ladder. |

They bring up the alma mater of every player in the NBA. How does that tie into the argument that the subtle inclusions of Dell into every Steph talk is to explain and whittle his success? For Kyrie to have gone to Duke is it not clear he was highly recruited so what point are you trying to make? And while at it, who is Kyrie's dad and what has he achieved? Lebron did not have a father? So the basketball gods impregnated his mother or what? So no interviewer had asked her whether his dad was an athelete or tall like they did in the past to discover that Jalen Rose's father was an NBA player? The narrative about knowing Bron's father would have taken some of his shine if we found out Magic Johnson had a fling in Ohio sometime in '83. You notice all of a sudden the mystery surrounding James' skill set or durability will be put to bed. Nobody gets flummoxed for e.g to know that Manut Bol's kids are 6'11"+ in height because.... In the same way needing to relate SCs skills to his upbringing is a subtle way of demystifying it AKA playing it down. LOL @ Drake. I might be the biggest Drake fan on Nairaland so you want to be careful when you make allegations about him that you cannot back up with facts. Let me leave it at that for now. Racist or not, in American parlance "light-skin" means soft or privileged or spoiled. Ask Kobe Bryant what he thinks. Actually, some NBA players have that light-skin complex and some seasoned journalists have reechoed my sentiments. Chris Broussard for instance has done so more than twice. I think I prefer what Chris has to say than you or what do you think? The people who could have reached are the fellow NBA players but thankfully their votes did not count like zeroes before the decimal. Fans and Journalists whose votes select MVPs are the reason his unprecedented season did not get marred by some jealous NBA players. |

Eruditor:You keep shooting yourself in the foot because you seem incapable of understanding what you're arguing about. They bring up alma mater like they bring up a persons parental background if its relevant. I remember Markkanens father and brother being discussed when the bulls played the cavs. At the bolded, exactly! But they still bring him up when talking about kyrie. Lebron did not have a father? So the basketball gods impregnated his mother or what? So no interviewer had asked her whether his dad was an athelete or tall like they did in the past to discover that Jalen Rose's father was an NBA player?Everyone knows lebrons mum was impregnated by midi chlorians. You think his mom wouldnt know if she slept with magic? Lebrons father is anthony mclleland, in other words joe bloggs. Physical traits are different from acquired skills. You arent born with a shooting gene so saying your father is a good shooter doesnt mean you dont deserve credit for being a good shooter yourself. In the same way needing to relate SCs skills to his upbringing is a subtle way of demystifying it AKA playing it down.LOL! But is steph curry not soft? you cant use steph to void this theory because it applies to him. Question is how does that apply to this argument? Has lebron not been accused of being soft? has KD? Actually, some NBA players have that light-skin complex and some seasoned journalists have reechoed my sentiments. Chris Broussard for instance has done so more than twice. I think I prefer what Chris has to say than you or what do you think?Sure, and chris broussard has no reason to be biased on this issue. The people who could have reached are the fellow NBA players but thankfully their votes did not count like zeroes before the decimal. Fans and Journalists whose votes select MVPs are the reason his unprecedented season did not get marred by some jealous NBA players.Oh i see, only black nba players have the complex. The black members of the 100 man voting panel dont. And stop bringing fans into this, you're disgracing yourself. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Eruditor: 8:55am On Oct 28, 2017 |
WeissBarlow:How so? I say they tack in his father's shooting prowess to demystify Curry's own and you argue against it by saying they bring up player's alma mater. What is the connection? If I said Kyrie went to Duke [but his father was the head coach] even if Kyrie was averaging 40ppg people would say he got the chance to because of his dad. I don't know how MENSAs interpret such things but it whittles down Kyrie's achievement to people with common sense. Physical traits are different from acquired skills. You arent born with a shooting gene so saying your father is a good shooter doesnt mean you dont deserve credit for being a good shooter yourself.Hence, why telling us about his dad's shooting prowess can be interpreted the way I have been doing it. Thank you for making my case for me. Oh i see, only black nba players have the complex. The black members of the 100 man voting panel dont. And stop bringing fans into this, you're disgracing yourself.Gee, what will be the essence of the black members of the 100-man panel hating on his skin to the degree that his fellow NBA players do? When I said other black rappers look down on Drake's experiences or Eminem's - is the common factor not "other" and "rappers" showing the disdain? Is this issue not about people in the same profession? Is PP not a (former) player? How does it relate to journalists and NBA players both of which are usually mutually exclusive? And you said someone else was disgracing himself ![]() |
