System here works because NL and tax, that is his health insurance, police protection, road maintenance, bin collection, public library etc.

He will not be worrying about fueling his generator, bad roads, bribing police to do their job, paying for sub-standard medical treatment, security issues.

Pension reduction is his money and his company will be paying into his pension pot as well.

So i don't know why people complain about paying tax.

People complain because they want to keep all the amount on their payslips....

I was working close to 120 hours per week in Nigeria and getting shitty pay. My current job here is 40hours per week. I signed up for overtime to further increase my pay. What I'll make here for just a weekend overtime (after tax) is more than what I was making in a month in Nigeria. Tory never change. I am here to hustle sister and mama charlie must pay me! Maybe you'll be inspired if I share my payslip by month end. I'll have to give that a second thought though.
You must show us the payslip o, this UKmigrant diary, must be all encompassing...........
Re: The Adventures Of A New UK Migrant by Nobody:
I signed up for a gym today, I discovered that I have gained 5kg in the past month because I stopped being consistent with my exercise routine and diet. This I attribute to the stress of trying 2 move from Naija and eating a lot of junk food in my first few days here. I hope to keep an exercise routine so I don't end up wasting my money. These excess burger and sandwich weight must be burnt off!
