felixomor:no one can predict what pastors of today can do when we have many pastors that are ritualists ,etc, they can kill,so what will it cost them to hack ordinary account? talk2percy is really right. don't forget your god of men TB Joshua was recorded bribing journalists about couple of years ago. and I'm sure some of his church members have never bribed before |

Chiedu4Trump:Why would Jesus Christ collect tithe in the first place?, it wasnt part of his mission, tithe then was payed to d synagogue, Jesus christ needed their faith and not their money No one is saying our justification comes by tithing and not by our faith in Christ, but .... proverbs 3 vs 9 -10 says "Honour the Lord with your wealth, and the first fruit of all your crops and your barn will be filled with over flowing, and your Vats will brim over with new wine" If the world and everything in it truly belong to the Lord, why wouldn’t this principle be true? This isn’t the only time that the Lord promises his people that he’ll reward generosity with plenty (Deut. 15:10; Prov. 11:25; Malachi 3:8–12). The challenge is that one must have the faith to give sacrificially to see if the Lord keeps his word. The robbing of God (Mal. 3:8–9)Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, “How have we robbed you?” In your tithes and contributions. You are cursed with a curse, for youare robbing me, the whole nation of you" for further study.... -Testing God in the tithe (Mal.3:10–12) -Giving in secret (Matt. 6:1–4) -The faithful giver (Mark 12:41–44) -.Tithing and justice (Luke 11:42) - Tithing and pride (Luke 18:9–14) In the end, tithing wasn’t something God's people did in the same way we mindlessly toss a gratuity down with our bill at a restaurant. It was an intentional practice through which God intended to teach his people about his sovereign ownership of everything. Instead of being consumers of their blessings, they had to stop and think through just how much blessing they had. Through the tithe, God took care of his people—and through the act of generous giving, God continues to bless his people. Thanks and God bless you. |

Chiedu4Trump:My post wasn't really countering yours. The impression I just needed to correct was one that seemed to be saying that because Jesus did not receive tithes, it means he outlawed it for believers under the new covenant. I also feel this general perception that ALL pastors preach about tithes to the neglect of other vital aspects of the gospel is an over generalisation. Charlatans exist and have always existed; even in the days of Christ. He particularly warned against false preachers who would emerge in the last days. he warned that they would preach a perverse version of the gospel that would be so real that even the elect could be deceived into believing these false doctrines. Seems to me that because of the activities of these charlatans, there is an overt attempt by the enemy to rubbish the church and list tithing as one of the false doctrines that Christ preached against. |

Chiedu4Trump:let's look at the defintion and purpose of the tithe. The main principle behind tithing and giving is the fact that what we do with our money shows where our heart is. Matthew 6:21says "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." When we are able to give 10% or moreof our income instead of keeping that money for ourselves, it shows that our heart isn't tied to our money and that welove God more than our money. The Bible mentions money over 800 times and of all of Jesus' parables, more than half of them talked about money. Why? Because that is where so many people get tripped up! When we are able to release at least 10% of our income back to God, our money doesn't have as tight of a hold on us because we realize that God is in control of our finances. We remember that everything we have has been given to us by Him. Even though most of us probably work for the money we make each month, even God has his hand there - He has given us the ability to do our jobs. Many who grasp what God has truly given them seem to agree that 10% doesn't even feel like enough! Is Tithing Mandatory? some people find issue with idea of tithing being "mandatory" or "required" - as if it is something that keeps believers in bondage. But do God's standards really keep us in bondage? Just like God tells us to keep sex within marriage, to love one another and to seek first His kingdom, tithing is a blessing to our lives and something thatwill help better our lives (as well as help the lives ofothers). We are not saved by works, thus failing to tithe will not necessarily send you to hell, but doing so will help improve your life and strengthen your relationship with God. I personally don't believe that God will curse us if we don't tithe, but I do believe He will help us escape the curse that is already in the world if we do. Old Testament vs. New Testament Tithing Practices Whether the titheis only for Old Testament or if it is also included in the New Testament is probably the most debated issue. The scripture most frequently referenced regarding the tithe is indeed in the Old Testament (Malachi 3:10-12), but the tithe is also referenced inthe New Testament. In Matthew 23:23, Jesus talks to the Pharisees, condemning them for tithing to the penny but neglecting the moreimportant issuesof justice, mercyand faith. He then goes on to tell them that they should in fact tithe, but that they shouldn't neglect the more important things. Jesus recognized the importance of keeping the tithe and we should, too. There are many practices in the OldTestament that don't make sense to us today, yet many of these ancients ways carry over to the New Testament law of grace as part of Christ's promise to not abolish the law, but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). For instance we no longer sacrifice animals but asbelievers we are called to offer ourselves up as a living sacrifice (Rom 12:1). Men no longer are required to be circumcised, but we all have a circumcision of the heart through the Holy Spirit (Rom 2:29). Most of us don't have grain and produce to bring to the storehouse, but we do have incomes that we can bring the first tenth of into the church. In other words, just because something is written in the Old Testament doesn't mean it lacks application to us today in some way or another. When I think of Christians asking themselves whether "tithing" is commanded in the Bible, is an OldTestament or New Testament teaching, I wonder how many of these Christians"send back" the many scriptural blessings God has given His people in the Old Testament. How many people when they are blessed and given hope through the mention of God's works, words etc. through the Old Testament Scriptures say ‘I don't receive this or that blessing or confirmation because it's in the Old Testament'?"While it is true that we are no longer under the old law, that we are under grace, we must not forget the purpose of grace: to help us live for God and dothe things He wants us to do. Romans 8:4 tells us that Jesus came that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, not so that we could altogether dismiss it.And Romans 3:21-31 talks about how we have righteousness through faith and not through following the law, but verse 31 adds "Do we,then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law."God's grace gives us the power and ability to tithe! You tithe to God and not to a pastor, and what the pastor does with the Tithe is between him and God Tithing is a spirtual thing and The blessings of tithing is what you see and experience, so am not talking abstracly If you are truely born again and u continue to grow in Christ and YOU HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, you will have absolutely no problem with tithing Christianity is not a religion but a way of life I, as a person, am ready to give as much as i can to the gospel, not only in tithe alone, cos without the gospel i am a Nobody, the gospel gave me all i have and It is the most valuable thing in the world!!. All the Bible references to tithe spoke in support of it and not one spoke against it . PS : this isnt about winning an argument for me, but about enlightening you as Christian to Christian, on an important Christian issue. |

The problem Daddy Freeze is pointing out is not about the faithful sheep, or the flock's devotion to their shepherd(who is Jesus). It is the wolves in sheep clothing that continually pillage the sheep in more ways than a few, all the while preaching uninspired messages that Jesus himself would have disagreed with had he been here physically. The other half of the problem is the sheep who do not know who their shepherd is. Seeing the way people are being defrauded by fake pastors these days makes me appreciate how blessed I am to know the truth. Even the Bible acknowledges the existence of fake prophets. By their fruits you shall know them. This is no reason to call Christianity a scam. |

Chiedu4Trump:Oh. Love your criticism bro. No insults, no hard words. The reason I personally tithe is for the expansion of the kingdom and in appreciation of his blessings. Tithe is not by fire by thunder. Not a do or die affair. It's outta willing heart. Thanks for concised explanation sir. |
