In the last 3yrs I have seen many bank managers, People in Banks AM and above in Nigeria that relocated to Yankee and wont mind doing this menial job even some people who are on 9-13M a year in Nigeria

All those people lamenting on that thread, if you tell them you will give them an American visa for 1 week and collect 2M Naira they will all drop the money and flee

Outside of Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria is mostly like a real life Mad Max Movie.

It can seem unfathomable to someone who has never experienced anything other than the Nigerian wasteland, but the UK really is like heaven.

Out of my dad's 6 kids, 4 of us are fully based here. Of the remaining 2, one is in boarding school, the other one is preparing for NYSC.

My Dad can't leave because of his business interests, but he has sworn that all of us must leave the country.

Everytime he comes to visit, na cursing left and right. He hates Nigeria with a passion, and he's one of the ones that could be reasonably described as doing OK.

Na my youngest sister dey do NYSC. She's just a home bird. She prefers to shuttle.

One day an opportunity to serve in a juicy government role may come up via one of his friends or connects and not having documents like this one can be the difference on whether the haters can finally take their pound of flesh as regards to your progress or not! One of my classmates wants to run for governor in 2019 and one of my juniors is attempting the presidency! They both won't win but at least they would get on the map and may be compensated with juicy posts.....so all documents are being upgraded and double checked as we speak!

I observe that most guys based permanently abroad kinda discourage their friends & families from coming over except for schooling. I wonder why.

There is prosperity everywhere and there is poverty everywhere too, it just depends on your individual situation.
But on that thread they were making silly comparisons like US based cleaner vs Naija based bank manager and on top of that they were quoting bogus figures.
Why not compare like for like e.g naija based barber vs US based barber AND then factor in things people abroad take for granted like good roads, constant electricity, good healthcare, available credit facilities e.t.c
What I make in a day now I used to make in a month in Naija. Even nurses, radiographers and physiotherapists from Naija building duplexes everywhere. If they could do that back home they won't be going on strike every other month and slide tackling one another professionally.
It is when you come in illegally and you have no professional qualifications that you might suffer long.

You are very right on the NYSC stuff. Even the law doesn't permit registered companies in Nigeria to employ graduates without the cert. one has to be prepared for eventualities.
