Both phones are quite beautiful in their designs and both come with quite impressive specs. So i decided to put them through the comparison. the below video is the result of that comparison.

I must also say that the Tecno Phantom 8 is a pretty decent looking and performing device. I'd love to hear from you guys. let me know what you think about these phones.

But I especially like the Phantom 8, more affordable than the Samsung and looks durable.

Dude, you need to hold a phone you know before coming to a conclusion. Take time out, go to a phone shop and ask to hold the Phantom 8, maybe you'll understand then

The phantom 8 is just too ugly. The bezels both top bottom and the sides is too much. Spending money on the phone is a waste.
Maybe Tecno will get it right in the next phantom, with 18:9 aspect ratio and reduced bezels at the top and bottom.

Everyone loves the 18:9 aspect ratio, but you know not all these phones have the budget the Samsungs of this world has. But as you said, i'm pretty sure Tecno will create something more aesthetically pleasing next year

Yes on YouTube. I saw how it takes more time to load apps unlike the S8. I saw how pictures from the camera are so washed out. All thanks to the mediocre camera and the poor screen resolution. I saw the excessively reflective screen that will be very difficult to access in direct and bright sunlight.

I saw how the Phantom 8 maintained the same design, shape, same everything since 2013. No new innovation, not even a common IR blaster (for remote control).


Its sad when I see comparisons like this. It would have been much better if the OP had compared maybe the Xiaomi Mi 6 with the Phantom 8. The Xiaomi Mi 6 beats the Phantom hands down in everything, including the design. But it would still have been a better or worthy review cos both are of the same price range.

Phantom 8 is nothing but an overpriced and over-recycled piece of phone. I'll upload the spec and pictures of the Xiaomi 6 just to buttress my point.

Correction, not everyone likes this new aspect ratio. I've used an S8+ but it leaves black bars on the sides when playing games and overall the phone is just so unnecessarily long. I also personally HATE the curved screen corners.

just to be clear, the Mi6 is better than the phantom8 but they're not at the same pricing. The Mi6 starts at around 430-450$(before shipping and taxes) while the phantom is between 320-350$.
