The concept of virginity is entirely sexist.
What you've come to believe and accept over the years as the term "virginity" is simply a social construct that has been used to restrain, limit and diminish women as being inferior to their male counterparts.


There are no medical or biological definitions of virginity.

Saying virginity can be referred to as a state of a woman who has never had sexual intercourse is wrong and has no meaning.

Why?

Sex does not imply only vaginal penetration, it also covers anal sex, MouthAction and other sexual acts. Does that mean a girl/woman who engages only in anal sex but has never tried out vaginal sex is a virgin, simply because she takes it only through the rear or backdoor?

You may choose to say, "when a woman's hymen is broken, she loses her virginity."

But that is also wrong, false and misleading.
A hymen is not a sheet that seals the vagina, it has hole(s) that allows secretion or outflow of vaginal fluids as well as penetration. The hymen is elastic and in most cases expands to accommodate the penis.
In fact, not all women bleed during their first sex.
The weirdest of them all, not every woman is born with a hymen.

So you see? You can't determine the virginity of a woman by her hymen and virginity, therefore, doesn't exist.

I find this important to point out, because of the misogynistic tendency it has spurred in the society.
A man is expected to have lot of sex and not be bothered about keeping his virginity but a woman is denied the pleasure of sex, her sex life stifled, she is made to believe the need to remain a "virgin" until marriage.
Then a man with bloated ego, who has slept with almost every and any girl, will spew rubbish about wanting a virgin for a wife.

It is high time we alienate this concept that seeks to subjugate women as inferior beings.

I have come to realise that those that have lost their virginity probably in careless ways tend to believe that there are no more existing virgins and also look for way to persuade other virgins to lose theirs so as to suppress some level of guilt...
