Nedfed:Post exposure prophylaxis... in 2013 when i first mentioned it on this site, i was laughed at but its a fairly common procedure now. If you suspect you have been exposed to HIV, you need to undergo post exposure prophylaxis within the first 72 hours. If i recall correctly it involves blasting the body full of anti-retrovirals at an intense pace. 2 Likes |

Nedfed:Hiv enters the body through permeable surfaces known as mucous membranes. These are surfaces of the body that are not protected by skin. Examples include the eyelids, vagina walls,and the urethra of a man's penis. During sex, the woman is much more vulnerable because her entire vagina is covered by mucous membranes whereas the penis is cover by regular skin which is effectively resistant to hiv. For a man to catch hiv through vaginal intercourse, his penis must either sustain a cut (perhaps through very rough sex), or the infected fluid must enter inside the urethra. Now the body is not designed to allow such access otherwise every time you go swimming, your penis would fill up with pool water. The blood pressure inside the penis is high so it is just like a pumped football: when you pour water over the valve, nothing enters--same with the penis.
