My own candid view is that the virus is real (GOOD CANDID VIEW FROM YOU. But I don't believe it leads to AIDS (WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IT LEADS TO?. All the same, protection is key, abstinence is the best. If you test positive today, its not the end of the world. Life goes on.

go to ART centres and see the number is persons attending health talks and taking ARVs. How do you know the number of persons infected? Or is it now obvious like Chicken Pox? One had better try abstinence or try get infected to know whether it is false or fact.

Just last week here, a naija hospital told a pregnant lady she will be having a son. The lady got to London and discovered she is having TWINS. Now lets discuss the koko of the matter... Now, for the first hospital that said your friend tested positive, what did you guys do? i guess nothing right? That is the nigerian corruption, laziness and mentality. That hospital might have a bad, defective system or might not even be carrying out comprehensive tests even and someone might commit suicide by that news. So what you and your friend is supposed to do is follow-up, or sue the hospital so that NO ONE EVER experiences what your friend experienced due to negligence, corruption or a defective system. Its not too late, in the meantime, what is the name of the hospital and where is it located?

I believe its real but it is a very difficult virus to contract but more easier to be contracted by a woman than a man. but there are some situation that might make u think this HIV thing is a scam. I have this friend whose gf tested positive and she later confessed of having another guy but the both guys tested Negative and the relationship has lasted for 11 months with unprotected sex. that really got me thinking same thing d op said.

I can tell you authoritatively that many men & women are positive and know it but have refused to tell their husband/wife.
Women are even more scared of been thrown out.

On the other hand, just under 1% of all people & 10% of Europeans have a genetic resistance to some strains of HIV virus.

Yes, men are just slightly less at risk. Slightly less surface for entry compared to the larger female area of exposure.
