Agbo and Agu were in in my picks either ...you need to go and what that match very well ... my comment about Ogu wasn't based on that match alone ... cos it was inconsequential ... Ogu is a rough tackler ... 5 past matches for eagles 3 yellow cards 2 GOALS
Understood! But I think being the professional he is, he knows when to cool it down after a yellow card he dosent get a red...how many of our CMs? Have scored 2 goals in three matches, that's the quality he brings.

Whether it is a contributory factor or not, Shehu stands apart from the others. He is the favorite for that position.

No player should stand apart oo cos that's what leads to complacency and eventually degeneration. That's how Echiejile stayed for long without competition and stagnated. Has Shehu been outstanding? Yes. Does he need competition? Yes, fierce and stiff one especially since we have options to compete with him in that department. Ditto for all other positions. I like it that Onyekuru is in the team and based on comments here, he played well few minutes he was in. There must be competition so that everyone keeps their feet on the pedal.

Something I noticed about Nwakaeme. He was calm and very confident with his passes. As a full debutant, we want to see that hunger to impress at least.

that right there was his best possible performance. I failed to see how the pitch stopped him from atleast making runs and linking up well, try atleast

I don't have any problem with any of them but I can't off the top of my head pick out a bad delivery that Victor had.

I think Rohr should challenge Ekong to recreate his club form for us. The guy is a goal threat for club but nothing for country. The team in general must all look for goals if we want to go places.
Yes our defenders should have scored at least one goal or two from set pieces and corner kicks

I actually had an argument with a south African on BBC Africa page regarding this...The dude was claiming that Morocco used their home based players throughout the qualifier probably because of their league..

He even went as far as saying that all our players are foreign groomed....

i have not really watched this guys plays ...until i see AWONIYI ... the last time i watched hs game was during the olympic qualifiers and for Osimhen ,it was during the Olympic. i think we need tested players who are ready to stand their ground . we re going to the worldcup where the best compete. Osimhen and Awoniyi CAN WAIT TILL 2022,
Pls where are the tested CF?my point is Nwakaeme i saw against Algeria is not better than Osimhen or Awoniyi.

Is the Moroccan league not better than ours? My guy this is the way it's going now. Globalisation is making its impact felt. We must not let 'patriotism' to blind us from co-opting our talented diasporans into our team.

Oh Ikechuckwu and Martins?no go area for me but if Rohr want them no issue.

Mind you I never rate Nwakaeme,i was even asking why he should be invited ahead of Kayode.

Truly Nwakaeme was highly rated on this thread but his rating has dropped significantly after Algeria match.
I was never sold on this guy from day one. I even said I doubt if he'd make it to Russia. But that's the beauty of testing players. Once they are tested, we will know. It's just that we don't have all the time in the world. Cos football is performance. I want play, I want play. Okay play na. That's why our arguments on Nwakali should be toned down. When he plays we will see. I wish Nwakaeme all the best.

Abdullahi Shehu is clearly the best RB we have at the moment. Tell me other wise.

Agreed but to say competition is not needed is to do him and the team a great disservice. My point is not on 'bestness' or otherwise but saying competition is not needed.

oga icon sorry to have me say this....no offense please..

you're quite conservative...you rarely believe in making changes..

if you will remember none of us ever know how good akpeyi was during keshi stint because he kept playing agbim and never give the guy a chance...

but today where is agbim?

sometimes it is good we test this players...and then stick to the best.
why stay with better when we have the best...

One more trials for him on Tuesday on a good pitch
Kog45:
Nwakaeme good for Eagles?with what i saw against Algeria,we don't need him.

We need a striker that w gives Ighalo and Iheanacho stiff competition not mediocre, hope to see Kayode against Argentina.

Also waiting for Rohr to extend invitation to Peter Onuachu and let see what he got to offer.

I don't know why we keep on deceiving ourselves, better to have Osimhen or Awoniyi in the team than Nwakaeme.

Uzoho
Aina
Ekong
Balogun
Idowu
Ndidi
Agbo
Mikel
Iheanacho
Iwobi
Onyekuru

OK O I don agree one more trial but when Kayode had 15 mins against SA we all said Rohr have seen him enough,no more invitation, when Osimhen had a comeo appearance we said he was too young

But Nwakaeme need another trial, when Kayode is on the bench looking for another opportunity. Please is Nwakaeme better than Kayode?

Remember Aina came in against Zambia less than 12 mins we all saw what he can do,against Algeria he had a decent game, the same thing Shehu he seized the opportunity when it matter most.Oyekwuru came in against Algeria we all saw the glimpses.Ogu after a long time waiting came in with a goal and MOTM.

Why can't Nwakaeme show his stuff so that we can forget Ighalo, funny enough Iheanacho was pushed to the wing to accommodate him.

Hope he prove me wrong if he had another opportunity against Argentina because guys like Peter Onuachu,Desserts,Osimhen, Awoniyi,Umar Sadiq are waiting to impress.
