Who, and where does the Bible say that Tithes should be monetized? In case you do not understand; those who paid tithe in the Bible, did they pay in money? Verse 10 that you quoted, when "all the tithes are brought into the storehouse", what would fill the house (meat or money?). I will appreciate your Bible based reply, please.

It is hypocritical for one to condemn tithing and accept offering seeing that the two were mentioned in Malachi. If you go to some rural communities, people still pay tithe with farm products.

My love before you go, Jesus and his disciples didn't give offering, so Christians should not give.

You don't give up do you? Your statement above does not make sense and that is not what I said.

All I am saying is that folks should address issues instead of personalities. Why is this so difficult to comprehend? If it helps, I fully support giving Alms to the needy and helping out people who are down, if you are in a position to do so.

What an unintelligent and desperate attack.

Would make sense if Freeze was giving advice on marriage or relationships.
So people with marital problems should not have opinions on anything?
The truth is this thing won't go away.
Even the government of Nigeria is not succeeeding at getting 10% tax from its citizens . There is a lot of money involved here .You cannot continue fooling people saying they are "giving to God"

dis guy just nailed it, its scriptural God dnt support divorce, so lets freeze to fix his broken marriage b4 Nigerians will consider taking him serious

Why are Nigerians taking the gods of men below serious, you this hypocrite?

Marchman:

Although a high court in the United Kingdom has dissolved the marriage between funky and controversial pastor, Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife Anita, a new line of controversy has been opened between the now divorced couple.” On the whole, it was for long stretches a joyless, sexless marriage. What held it together was hope. Even hope finally gave way to a steady stream of philandering and abuse by the husband”.

Nigerian Times has exclusively gathered that Pastor Anita is seeking the services of lawyers in Nigeria to help recover several properties she had donated to the Christ Embassy church when the going was rosy between her and now ex-husband, Oyakhilome, fondly known as Pastor Chris by his followers. Pastor Chris leads the Christ Embassy Church, AKA Believers LoveWorld, while his ex-wife Anita was a senior member of the Church’s Central Executive Council, its highest-decision making body and was also in charge of the international office based in London before the trouble with her former husband began.

A Nigerian Times’ investigation reveals that Anita, who had since reverted to her maiden name Ebhodhage inherited the said property from her father, the late John Ebhodhage who was the MD/CEO of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation between 1989 and 1998. The property includes a duplex at Isolo in Lagos, an apartment at Ekpoma in Edo State, amongst others. We could not confirm if any of the property is overseas.

“She donated the property to the church believing that she was furthering the gospel and at that time truly believed in Pastor Chris, who in addition to being her husband was also her pastor,” said a close family source to Pastor Anita who has chosen to be anonymous because of the sensitive nature of the issue.

Divorce
The couple’s divorce was finalized on February 8, this year but it was after much legal drama and fireworks in the English court. The major contentions were the sharing of their mutual property as well Pastor Anita’s right to speak freely about life with her former husband, which he had challenged, wanting the court to bar her from disclosing details of the divorce and their life together. He was however willing to consider a sufficient compensation to her, if she agreed not to speak about the matter.

On the matter of compensation, we gathered that Pastor Chris declared a total sum of 120,000 USD and a house in Johannesburg, South Africa and that he was only the spiritual head of the Christ Embassy Church, not its administrative or legal head, and so its funds were communal and not personal to him. Our source, who described the claim by Pastor Chris as a blatant lie, revealed that this was particularly distressing to Anita as she had invested the better part of her life, including finances in the Christ Embassy Church. “She was particularly saddened by this claim, and had to go on vacation to Switzerland, her mother’s country, because of the stress,” he said.

That incident happened in October last year, shortly after which Pastor Chris donated the whooping sum of N1 billion to the Benson Idahosa University.

The court held in favour of Pastor Chris that the funds of the church were indeed communal and so would not be a factor in the divorce, to his great delight and the coterie of aides, hangers-on and senior pastors who accompanied him to the High Court of Justice Principal Registry of the Family Division in October 2015. So much so that it was learnt they threw a party at the Christ Embassy, Bermondsey branch to celebrate ‘the victory.’

The court however did not bar Pastor Anita from disclosing any detail of the divorce or life with her ex-husband, and we have learned reliably that she is getting prepared to write a tell-all about the misery she suffered at the hands of the so-called man of God.

What broke the camel’s back
Talking about misery, our source disclosed that the woman had a difficult and sexless marriage for much of the time they were together but bore the pains because she believed it was the necessary sacrifice for the success of their ministry. She was transferred to UK to start off the international arm of the ministry in the late 90s, when the church had a programme there and Pastor Chris asked her to stay back and kick-start the international arm of the ministry. At that point, our source said, Pastor Chris’ word was life and death to her and she considered him next to God. So in spite of family and friends who cautioned against taking up the offer and that it was not ideal leaving her relatively young marriage for an oversea country, even for the cause of the gospel, she packed her bags in obedience to her ‘man of God.’ She took their two children Charlene and Sharon along with her.

In no time, her hard-work had paid off and the international arm of the ministry was booming, with numerous churches started in the UK and mainland Europe. But this success might have invariably cost her marriage, for while she was away from Nigeria, a few women had allegedly grown close to her husband and were living in the same housing complex known as ‘White House’ as he. ‘White House’ is an exclusive multi story building at the Church’s Oregun-Lagos branch where Pastor Chris stays whenever he is in Lagos. It has several luxury apartments, a swimming pool, and open only to Pastor Chris, and his closest aides, who incidentally are beautiful but unmarried top female pastors such as Pastors Yemisi Kudehinbu, and Deola Phillips, whom his ex-wife was uncomfortable with.

With rumours swirling around town about some suspicious activities bordering on infidelity, our source said Pastor Anita insisted on returning to Lagos, to her matrimonial home, and requested the sack of the strange women – Pentecostalspeak for home breakers , around her ex-husband. The man however refused, insisting that she was more useful to the ministry in the Uk, than in Nigeria and that the women were indispensible to the growth of the Christ Embassy Church.

“What really broke the camel’s back happened after IPPC (the Church’s flagship program for its partners and pastors) in December 2013. While sleeping in their room, she woke up to discover that her ex-husband had exited the room, and locked the door behind him. She was distraught and could not fathom why he would lock her inside the room and left with the key!

“On returning, she queried him and he confessed that he had gone for a meeting in the apartment of one of the controversial women pastors around him, Yemisi Kudehinbu. This enraged the wife and she vowed to leave and never to return. She subsequently filed for divorce on returning to the UK,” our source revealed. “It wasn’t just that he was doing it; but that he couldn’t forgo that one night she had planned to spend with him in Lagos.”

The Family
The ex-couple were blessed with two children, Charlene and Sharon, both of whom were raised by their mother in the UK. That has not however made them stick with their mum in these trying times. “They both currently live with their father, and she has not seen or spoken with them in a while,” the source said, explaining further that “the man is very charismatic and can convince anyone, also I believe the children think they are better off being with their multi-billionaire dad than with their mum who is just trying to get by now.”

The issue is already settled in..

Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me.
But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee?
In tithes and offerings.

10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse,
that there may be meat in mine house,
and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven,
and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Tithe and offering was mentioned here, and if you claim that tithe was for the Levites, what about offering?.
Offerings are mentioned very frequently in Judaism. One of the commonest was the guilt offering
The guilt offering is to be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, and its blood is to be splashed against the sides of the altar.

— Leviticus 7:2

Offerings typically were animals offered

as so called
SIN OFFERING
Laws for Sin Offerings
1Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2"Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'If a person sins unintentionally in any of the things which the LORD has commanded not to be done, and commits any of them, 3if the anointed priest sins so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer to the LORD a bull without defect as a sin offering for the sin he has committed

Burnt offerings
During the First Temple and Second Temple periods, the burnt offering was a twice-daily animal sacrifice offered on the altar in the temple in Jerusalem that was completely consumed by fire. The skin of the animal, however, was not burnt but given to the priests respective of their priestly division. These skins are listed as one of the twenty-four priestly gifts in Tosefta Halla.
I would like to believe that Chritianity has obviated the need for burnt offerings .I stand to be corrected
WOMEN OFFERINGS
The offerings following childbirth as described in the Book of Leviticus, 12.
Thank offering and its accompanying meal offering following recovery from illness or danger.
The Passover sacrifice on Passover. Women could offer the sacrifice and hold a Passover Seder themselves if they wished, even if married.
Sin offerings or guilt offerings in atonement for transgressions and unintentional errors.
Offerings relevant to fulfillment of, or transgression of, the Nazirite vow.
Offerings following cure from certain diseases and unusual bodily discharges.
No where is it about REGULARLY giving MONEY to priests at 10% of income

The trouble is people go aroun claiming to be Christians but never read the bible and rely on others to tell them what is in the bible

The brotherhood of Chris, the rockers you mean. grin

RICHIEBOI1:
Tioluwani, alleged love child of Rev. Chris Okotie.According to a report by Aristocrats, funky man of God, Rev. Chris Okotie has been alleged of having a love child from a woman he put in a family way some years ago.

As it was reported, after his first crashed marriage to Tina in 1998, some women jostled to become the woman in Okotie’s life. Those highly rumoured to have been in hot romance with the ‘Patrick Obahiagbon grammar brother’ man of God were former Miss Nigeria, Vien Tetsola and one Pastor Elishanmah Ideh.

The report further said that many thought his romance with Vien would lead to marriage as he was said to have played a very influential role in her life. He was said to have bought a Volkswagen Bug Tetsola was driving then Also, Okotie was reported to have been instrumental during Vien’s 30th birthday party held at the Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, a few years back where he even cut the cake with her.

It was on July 2008, as reported, that Chris Okotie announced to his church that he would be getting married soon.

The report further said that Stephanie was a widow of Pastor Chris Okotie’s friend. He was said to have rented an apartment with a round-the-clock security for Stephanie at Marwa Gardens, Ikeja, Lagos for Stephanie.

He was also said to have also given her a security escort attached to his cars; a black Mercedes Benz Jeep and a black S Class Mercedes Benz.

As reported, not long after Rev. Okotie and Stephanie married, one woman named Remi Odutola surfaced alleging that she has a 9-year-old girl for the singer turned pastor and politician.

Quoting room the report, “My name is Aderemi Odutola, a granddaughter of Ogbeni Oja of Ijebu-Ode. I met Reverend Christopher Okotie in 1997. I was a young Pastor desperately looking for a good church where I could worship and God led me to the Household Of God.

“Then, I had a music ministry, and because he was an ace musician, I took him as my mentor and strongly believed that he would help me one day. Along the line, something happened. We started seeing each other and I’ve done abortion for him three times before I decided to leave the last one”.

Why did she leave the last pregnancy and why is she coming out nine years after? (Aristocrats)
“I left the pregnancy not for anything, but for the fact that he proposed to marry me. Initially, I didn’t accept his proposal because of his wife, Tina. I couldn’t have married a married man. But he told me that his marriage to Tina was on the brink of collapse. He lied to me!

“Trouble, however, started immediately I got pregnant. He started behaving funny, unlike the amiable Pastor I met sometime back. At times, I would call him, but he wouldn’t pick or return my calls.”

‘It dawned on me when I gave birth to our daughter that he was just a player. Ever since I gave birth to Tioluwani Okotie (our daughter), Reverend Chris has abandoned us in my family house in Opebi. It has not been easy at all taking care of our daughter all alone.”

Does he send money for the child’s up-keep? (Aristocrats)

“Money? Whenever I call him that his daughter needs something, he will be dribbling me, giving me one excuse or the other. I was highly disappointed when I heard he eventually married Stephanie Henshaw, his late friend’s wife. He did not marry me with all the things I have been through because of him.”

Aristocrats further reported that the church was visited by them and some church members who do not want their names to be mentioned confirmed that they have seen the little girl (Tioluwani) who shares a striking resemblance with the Pastor.

It was also reported that some have wondered at the resemblance the girl has with Rev. Okotie especially at the church’s children’s department at Household of God Church. The report also claimed that effort to contact Pastor Chris Okotie to confirm the story proved abortive as he did not pick their calls.

Tithe and offering was mentioned here, and if you claim that tithe was for the Levites, what about offering?.
Madam please what does this part of the Bible mean?

22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. 24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. 26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice. 27 And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own.

28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, 29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands

Please also see the part were you should sell your produce if the place is far and then use the money to buy stuff that you like.

Thanks for taking your time to explain.

HeWrites:
Self acclaimed Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu has taken to social media to shade the heck out of OAP Daddy Freeze over his tithing controversy.

The actor who shared a picture collage of himself alongside Apostle Suleiman and Daddy Freeze, disclosed that Nigerians will take Freeze more seriously if he fixes his marriage with his first wife and mother of his two kids, Opeyemi.

He wrote:
Nigerians will #listen to you on tithes, if only you can fix your #marriage with Opeyemi @daddyfreeze Charity they say begins at #home, you spend so much time and energy writing against tithe on #instagram, but if only you can save just half of this #energy into finding a solution to fixing your marriage, maybe, we can start taking you serious. @daddyfreeze Apostle Suleman is like a #father to me, but you made me #laugh

When you said you wanted a debate with him, that thought pattern is obviously above your pay grade sir, but of course, even spiritual rascality is allowed in a #country like #Nigeria, but first things first, work on fixing your marriage with Opeyemi, maybe, Nigerians will start taking you serious, its just simple and pure logic, you can’t fix our #Religion, if you are not matured enough to fixing or saving your own marriage. #repost #cool#nollywood #pics #actor #blogger #naija#good #wife"

Useless talk.

Does it mean David Ben-Enoch, Chris Oyakhilome and Chris Okotie are also not qualified to either talk about tithe or collect tithe since they are all divorced? including that GPM bishop?

All these people that want to judge for God sef......

If men were God as some of you worshippers of pastors think, Kumuyi's wife wouldn't have died of cancer; Reihard Bornke wouldn't have contracted cancer of the throat; Myles Munroa would have been alive by now.
In summary, men are not God so they can be wrong.
The new testament never mentioned where Jesus payed tithe or encouraged us to pay tithe. If you want to counter Freeze, back it up with the bible, not curses and plenty spiritual talk as if you are spiritual grin grin grin
