As the poster before me just said there are no pros only cons. Doing a masters degree in a good university will be almost impossible with that grade so that option is out of it. A dream job will remain a dream job. Your best bet is to start a business or start acquiring skills. The earlier for you the better.

I graduated with a 2.2 and I'm currently running an Msc Program at University of Nigeria. 2.2 is not as bad as you make it look....

Formal education in Nigeria is overrated and has failed. Get a skill bro.. you're now a graduate and that's all that matters.

Egbon r u high ?.. Bros pls don't misquote us... Simply put it dz way... If u cum out wt 2nd class lower Buh not a 3pointer, u myt nt b chanced to do a master degree Buh if u cum out wt 2nd class lower, nd uhr cgpa is 3point nd above, u v d 100% proof of Gtn a masters degree..

Note dat dos wt 2nd class lower (2 pointer), enrol in PGD b4 Gtn a masters form.

This has even changed now, as a (2 pointer but above 2.5) you can still go straight to masters class without PGD, but only if you are not changing discipline, ie if you studied marketing and graduated with 2.978, you can proceed to masters in marketing, you will only go to PDG if you want to switch to say Accounting or Banking...

what should polytechnic graduates with distinction/uppercredit do, when a university graduate with 2.2 is looking for pros and cons in his class of grade?

Since 2006 still looking for a job, he is still doing attacheee work with any available NGO... Na just God, not the class...

Op, no pros and cons, currently, if you don't have connection, there are no jobs for 1st class, upperclass and lower... So, you can get a teaching job while you continue with your Masters. Many Federal universities accept 2.2 for masters.. Don't allow all these nairalanders to discourage you,

What you need is connection
Most federal university requires 2.2 to do PGD before masters

I don't know why people like you compare poly with uni.
One is for practicals while the other for research.
What a poly graduate does most uni counterpart can do same e.g machine maintenance etc

I used to be obsessed with grades buh an insight to what the labour market changed ma orientation...I haven't seen anyone tha graduated with a 2.1 at my place of work...it's either 2.2 or 3rd class and they are all doing fine... the real deal is develop yourself. Write professional exams... and develop a unique skill..than me later

Do Msc as soon as possible, you ll even have an edge over 2.1.
Depending on his CGPA.Most schools don't admit intending Masters students who didn't get 3.0 and above in their first degrees. The only option in this situation is to enrol for PG.

It depends on your inner drive. Try to enroll in professional courses, get a masters ( very possible), get a PhD. Never stop climbing. You have even better edge cos of the zeal in you to rise above expectations. Supposed failure can be a strong motivation. I have seen many people succeed despite starting with a 2.2. I am a living testimony.

Cheers.
I graduated with 2:2, I am a Ph.D holder now. Glory be to God.

Am not discouraging anyone. Am also a 2 2 graduate. Before I left university I applied to over 1000 companies but I only got a job with an NGO. I started my own business 2 months after graduation and it's thriving. Right now he should think out of the box because a paid job or a masters degree won't help him as he won't get into a top notch school with that grade. There's no use going to a rubbish university to do a masters degree.
