Let him or her write it,you go through it and correct one or two errors. That's how people learn.

When someone is asked to write an application letter, it is a further test to his ability and competence. The application letter goes a long way in helping him get the job. You writing the letter for him simply means he can't write and this shows he is not suitable for the job. Now, when there are several applicants, and he is chosen because of the letter, you have made him to have an undue advantage. Is that a sin? I leave you to answer that.
