But Mikel was in Chelsea for years or are you saying Chelsea is not a classy team?

Sentiments!
krattoss:
if mikel should find himself in a classy team..he would do more than pirlo. .pirlo's luck is that he play in the midst of world class stars thereby giving him the edge with trophies and all...

Mikel is pirlo 5.1..

O pari cool

You obviously know little of Pirlo. I no wan continue this one boss.

Well and succinctly put .... as always, boss.

I dey throway salute, sir!!!

Icon4s:
Well, Akpeyi messed himself up by himself. His lack of composure again consumed him like a flame. Uzoho showed more confidence, though the defense became more composed after a tension soaked first quarter of the game. I no know why dem dey fear Argentina like that.

Rohr would have selection issues with the full backs.
He will have to make tough decisions as to who to drop.

Brian Idowu is ahead of Echiejile and Aina. I fear for Echiejile more so that he is not a versatile player. Players who are versatile are more sought after in modern day football.

In Shehu and Ebuehi our RB problem has been sorted out. Aina could also be given a shot at RB. But having 3 RB at the WC? Hmmm....At least one will need to drop.

Balogun had another slow start today. Ekong seems to have become the leader of the defense.

Iheanacho is a fighter. He played as though he was 2 players in one. Iwobi is pure class. No doubt an asset to this team. And of course Mikel remains the chief orchestrator.

Ndidi had a great game Ogu was a bit quiet but he covered his own part of the pitch especially in the second half.

The 3-4-3: This set up will definitely not favor the natural wingers as they will now have to fight for shirts with the RBs. Baring any injuries Moses is more than likely to be accommodated leaving one spot for the Full backs to play as wing backs.

Mikel-Iwobi-Iheanacho combo is a partnership that works.

Overall, a great game.

For those doubting Rohr's tactical abilities to lead this team in the WC, I think he has proven a lot tonight.

Congratulations Nigeria.

I agree with you that he is strong, surprisingly. Such a well-coached player!

The formation was not working in the first half, but what a second half that was served to us. Fantastic game.
We were a delight to watch. Piecing passes, connecting dots on the pitch and standing solid against the albiceleste

They will be back up for Joel Obi and Victor Moses and don't forget that Iwobi and Simom can also play that role. grin
Nooo, they are not back ups for anybody. Everybody has to come and stake a claim for himself. Remember let the best be selected. As it stands nothing belongs to anyone.

Brazil. Definitely Brazil. Their abilities to go past players, Mount repeated attacks in their opponents box. Also with quick players. After beating Argentina, Brazil will want to play us.

we have to be careful here, I feel we should shift our attention to a european team and not the big ones for now cos with today's win, we have just exposed iwobi and nacho as our most deadly players and trust me they won't find it easy with opposing teams at the world cup. I thank God moses did not play. we have to keep it a bit low o! Honestly I wanted a draw in today's game so we spring up surprises in the main event but with today's game not even Germany or Brazil will underrate the Eagles when we play them, dem go play us say na champions league final.

Nff should keep it a bit low for now, we've played a soccer giant, let other matches be like rehearsal o, and mind you we have to be careful with injuries

I think 2 things changed the game today. Iheanacho's goal and Leon being subbed. Nacho's goal gave the team confidence especially it's quality. Then Leon was poor again, we need to get him out of that club because lack of game time is really showing on him.
Leon was very poor.

Argentina haven't conceded 4 goals in a match since 2011.
That was in a 4-1 loss... to Nigeria.

Just hope CAF approve AmajuPinnick motion to move AFCON qualifier in march to allow us play another friendly ...its very important than AFCON qualifier

We should be interested in the team growing and the players developing. That is the only way we can have a good World Cup. Keeping low key would not expose Akpeyi the way we did so and would not force the technical crew to stretch their imaginations to give three players who are not regulars, Ebuehi, Idowu and Uzoho chances.

With top quality teams, we need to be on our best to escape beatings. Which in turn will help us grow.

Please someone should help me calculate our fifa ranking points gathered from this match.

Before the game Argentina ranked 4th. Nigeria ranked 41st. According to fifa rankings point calculator, a lowly ranking team gains more points for winning against a high ranking team.

Make una help with the calculations oo!

Beautiful! That was my suggestion to his earlier post.. In my mind I don't want us to win draw will be very good but in my green mind mehn let's thrash them we have done it before we can do it again... Then it happens we won!

We should keep it simple Serbia or England or Japan should make sense for next friendly...

I disagree with the tag of Argentina as crap without Messi. They might have had a bad run without Messi but we played some real good players. From Pavon (young man can control the ball), Aguero, Banega, Di Maria, Mascherano, Otamendi, others like Benedetto, Perroti came in.

I think this game gave our boys the right exposure to up their game.

today's game has already exposed who and who should be dropped finally and I think it's okay, playing another top quality team may not be in our best interest cos of injury scare, my hand no dey o, na so dem talk say aguero faint, pls let's be cautious

Agreed. But it was just two players going for the ball and Nacho was trying to get some balance (advantage) with the elbow. This wasn't like one of those Casemiro or Marouane Fellini's elbow hooks grin

I just thank God for rohr's life, na here for nairaland dem for bury am today, dudes let's just keep more positive on this team than the negatives, just one goal then, the eagles were already buried here on nairaland.

The only two major downsides of today's game was the keeper and ola aina, those who feel elderson's time is over should rethink and I think it's safe to go with at least two defenders who were at the last world cup, omeruo and elderson. even musa we can't discard, we need some experience going into this world cup with the young talents at our disposal. we already have an experienced mikel in the midfield and with onazi too we should be fine.
I said give this man time ,give him time. He's doing in a year what westerhof did in four years . Is he the best?no.let's just give him time.

I think it is a bit disrespectful to our players to call them crap without Messi. It takes away from a huge win but on the other hand too much praise will breed complacency.

When we talk of a classy team, we are talking of a team who not just dominates the game but has a history of high possession. A team that plays a possession-heavy style. Chelsea was not that kind of team.

My best of Chelsea remains Ancelotti's time. During that period, Mikel Obi was the best passer in the Premier League. Even higher than Paul Scholes. Unfortunately, Abramovic disrupted the balance of Ancelotti's team and later sacked Ancelotti.
