Well, Akpeyi messed himself up by himself. His lack of composure again consumed him like a flame. Uzoho showed more confidence, though the defense became more composed after a tension soaked first quarter of the game.I no know why dem dey fear Argentina like that.

Rohr would have selection issues with the full backs.
He will have to make tough decisions as to who to drop.

Brian Idowu is ahead of Echiejile and Aina. I fear for Echiejile more so that he is not a versatile player. Players who are versatile are more sought after in modern day football.

In Shehu and Ebuehi our RB problem has been sorted out. Aina could also be given a shot at RB. But having 3 RB at the WC? Hmmm....At least one will need to drop.

Balogun had another slow start today. Ekong seems to have become the leader of the defense.

Iheanacho is a fighter. He played as though he was 2 players in one. Iwobi is pure class. No doubt an asset to this team. And of course Mikel remains the chief orchestrator.

Ndidi had a great game Ogu was a bit quiet but he covered his own part of the pitch especially in the second half.

The 3-4-3: This set up will definitely not favor the natural wingers as they will now have to fight for shirts with the RBs. Baring any injuries Moses is more than likely to be accommodated leaving one spot for the Full backs to play as wing backs.

Mikel-Iwobi-Iheanacho combo is a partnership that works.

Overall, a great game.

for those doubting Rohr's tactical abilities to lead this team in the WC, I think he has proven a lot tonight.

Congratulations Nigeria.
Dem fear true true. This win will give them that mental boost.its now stored in the tram's consciousness: we did it against Argentina

I've hammered the point relentlessly. Anytime I see comments doubting his tactical ability, I struggle hard to ignore it. Time, time, time. Nothing more but time. We should pray he comes good.its to our joy that he does.

It will reflect on our November ranking to be released in December.

We're likely to jump to like 3rd in Africa and maybe 35th in the world. We haven't lost in about 7 games now.

Please someone should help me calculate our fifa ranking points gathered from this match.

Before the game Argentina ranked 4th. Nigeria ranked 41st. According to fifa rankings point calculator, a lowly ranking team gains more points for winning against a high ranking team.

I just thank God for rohr's life, na here for nairaland dem for bury am today, dudes let's just keep more positive on this team than the negatives, just one goal then, the eagles were already buried here on nairaland.

The only two major downsides of today's game was the keeper and ola aina, those who feel elderson's time is over should rethink and I think it's safe to go with at least two defenders who were at the last world cup, omeruo and elderson. even musa we can't discard, we need some experience going into this world cup with the young talents at our disposal. we already have an experienced mikel in the midfield and with onazi too we should be fine.

To be candid with Brian Idowu's performance today, Aina is left floating. Do we take him to right back or leave him to fight with Echiejile and Idowu at LB?

Brian Idowu has something going for him and it played out today: He is based in Russia. He will definitely be very comfortably with the weather and also many of the pitches. He right now stands a better chance of being in Russia than Aina.

Brazil. Definitely Brazil. Their abilities to go past players, Mount repeated attacks in their opponents box. Also with quick players. After beating Argentina, Brazil will want to play us.
i want either germany or brazil also a mid level team like peru and one asian team.. I notice we find it difficult with average teams

Akpeyi, I'm sorry but when next we're about to camp, I'd travel all the way to South Africa, pay off one of your teammates to injure you, just to make sure you don't even cross the mind of the coach at all.

These are the importance of friendly games, I doubt Rorh would ever make those drastic changes in a competitive game even though he knows what to change.

Bros you harsh oooo

Yeah it would be a boost but don't expect too much for two reasons:

1. The Algeria draw: we will lose ranking points from that game.

2. The Argentine game is a friendly and so does not carry much weight as the WC qualifiers.

By and large I hope it will be a case of one step backwards but 2 or 3 steps forward.

I will do the calculation tomorrow and post the result here.

We should be interested in the team growing and the players developing. That is the only way we can have a good World Cup. Keeping low key would not expose Akpeyi the way we did so and would not force the technical crew to stretch their imaginations to give three players who are not regulars, Ebuehi, Idowu and Uzoho a chance.

With top quality teams, we need to be on our best to escape beatings. Which in turn will help us grow.
Its not pride for us to play the best. Even the coach was tested. Psychologically its good for the team.

Idowu just came Into the game and all of a sudden, the attacks from the left ceased. Like they were scared of him.

A goal to top his performance today, could he had have a better debut than this??

This guy surely has a future with us.

Rorh might have unknowingly hinted at his inclusion in the squad by saying "Idowu wouldn't be in the team just as an interpreter but as an important player in the team"

Stop starting slow.

uzoho has displaced akpeyi, thus making it more easier for enyema to return to slug it out with the remaining available keepers. There are some matches you don't mess up and today's game was one

In a competitive game, Akpeyi would have been sent off and we would have been struggling with 10 men.

His mistake is a serious one..

Rorh seriously needs to do something about our overdependence on Mikel.

We can't always guarantee his fitness to continue banking on it.

It's either we look for a player who plays like him (which is very unlikely) or he starts working out alternative tactics that wouldn't make his absence so glaring.

Exactly thank God for some moniker like goodjoe for believing in exercise patience

Club coaches is different from country coaches.. You can get players of your choice that's one of the reason top managers perform very well...

Always remember Alex Ferguson tenure as man Utd manager first season he finished at the middle table.. Before things started working out...

We just need to give him time.. Tagging him with different name won't work atleast he deserve our respect ,with the so called technical genius coaches they could not achieve what this man achieved with his " strength " (team strength )though he has his own weakness...then he rather concentrate in his strength than his weakness ...

All this alloy Agu should go or get sacked I don't believe it... I was watching their training on twitter alloy was the one doing majority of the drill whereas the foreign coach was assisting him... We should give this technical term respect they deserve it..

If you think it's easy to take up supee Eagle job.. Lars lagerback would have stayed, Paul leguen (don't mind my spelling) would have taken the job..

We should not be over confidence about this win... It stil a work in progress...
I'm happy we are fine tunning our bench...

God bless Nigeria
Its easy to criticize. I would rather believe in my national team and be disappointed than go watch a match expecting Nigeria to lose.its never in my DNA. Even if we are playing the best team, I expect us to win even though we might end up losing. That believe is what makes it exciting for me.

I am happy for the A-rated friendly.

Mediocres/ backdoor guys a.k.a egunje candidates are being exposed.

Akpeyi has no business with the GWG shirt.

Aina is overrated.

Ebuehi is pure class.

Iheanacho is our only FK taker.

Mikel is holds the keys to our midfield.

Musa's best days are behind him.

And Idowu is a gem.....not many players score with thier first touch in thier first game.

Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr praised his team's resolve after the three-time African champions had looked doomed to defeat.

"There were two completely different halves. The opening period was very hard. One could believe the match was already over after Argentina scored their second goal," said Rohr. "But we managed to perform a comeback.

"After we scored we rearranged our play in the break and performed much better in the second half. My players are mentally strong, they showed strong will. I'm very happy with their perforance."
