I have a friend who had applied for schengen visa 3 times this year and he was refused despite fulfilling all the requirement what do you think might be the reason for multiple refusals.

Reason is always ’Justification for the purpose and conditions of the intended stay was not provided’

This is a very helpful thread, meanwhile is not so difficult as we make it seem, go online look for conferences that are related to your career that are available, send organizers mail about attending , pay for it (that can be simply done by contacting some trustworthy guys on nairaland business section who can pay to any foreign account for a small fee , get the needed documents and you are on your way to Deutschland.

Hello guys, I have a question regarding German Schengen visa application in Nigeria.

I recently returned from the UK after about 6 years and I applied for a Schengen visa to Germany to spend some time with my GF based there but was refused on the ground that I did not show sufficient ties to Nigeria. The lady that accepted my documents actually told me this might happen but we decided to proceed anyway. Her reason was that I should have applied in the UK because I have been there for the past years. I have previously been granted a Schengen visa by the German consulate in the UK but on this occasion was told to apply in Nigeria if I wanted the full 3 months because I haven't renewed my UK residency permit which is running out within a month.

Now my question is how do i show this ties to Nigeria? Essentially all of my family are here in Nigeria including parents. Is there any other documents i can provide to show ties? I've had a job for years but it is in the UK so i dont think that counts.

Also is it advisable to get the required documents and apply straight again? or do i wait for some weeks?

With about 500k in her account, what are her chances of getting the shegen tourist visa bearing in mind that their boss is the one sponsoring their trip.

She should attach her boss statement of account since his sponsoring her and carry her own too just incase , again it depends on the the period they or she will be spending in Deutschland. (Ist es Klar?) don't tell visa officers that you will spend 10 days in a hotel unless you are a Nigerian politician who with stolen money. because when you say hotel what come to their mind is a 5star hotel and considering the place of Naira against the Euro. You might be disqualified on bases of falsehood .

I has not provided enough evidence that he is genuinely visiting for a short period to return back to nig. Also he might have filled the wrong class of visa or he hasnt provided strong enough document to back his application

give abit of time and apply once you can provide financial ties in nig that shows at least 6 months renumeration from your nig employer and include all relevant official documents (offer of employmeny, comfirmation letter, letter of introduction from your employer etc)
Otherwise you can apply from the uk once you can provide your financial ties and relevant residency status.

The conference is called opencon. Someone told me they offer sponsorship for some selected few applicants to attend. I applied and I got selected. That's how.

To apply for German business visa, go online to German Embassy website, book an appointment for interview. On the website, you'll see a checklist of required documents for the visa interview. Since you have to book an appointment before you appear for interview, it's unlikely you'll be able to book appointment and appear for interview same day. Yeah the individual must appear at the consulate for interview except for some few exceptions stated on the Embassy website. I'll advice you read through this thread and the German Embassy website also for more details
