I'm scared we'll get a tough group. Look at Pot 2
Best case scenario for the SE would be a group comprising Russia, Peru, Costa Rica, Nigeria. I’ll give our team an 85% chance of advancing from such a group.

On the other hand, the “group of death” would comprise Germany, Spain, Iran, Nigeria. I would put the SE’s chances of advancing at 3%.

the only lucky Draw we can get is to be in Group A with the hosts then avoid Spain nd Uruguay from pot 2 maybe Costa Rica and Iceland from pot 3 and I'm sure whoever we get in our group after those mentioned should be easier.

Did Akpeyi really feared?
what could be the cause of that blunder? He even handed the ball over to aguero norms it would have been a goal before the FK. Or can we say he his inexperienced??

INJURY UPDATE

Nigeria's First-Choice RB Target Announces He'll Return To Action Before World Cup

Nigeria's First-Choice RB Target Announces He'll Return To Action Before World Cup EFL Championship side Hull City have provided an injury update on former Nigeria U23 invitee Moses Odubajo.

The ex-England U20 international has not played for the Tigers since he got injured in a pre-season friendly against Grimsby Town in July 2016.

''Long-term injury victim Moses Odubajo is hoping for a return to action in the Spring following a positive meeting with his consultant this week,'' Hull City wrote on their official website.

''That represents light at the end of the tunnel for the 24-year-old right back, although any predicted return date remains tentative at this stage after such a lengthy lay-off.''

Odubajo had been approached by the Nigeria Football Federation supremo Amaju Pinnick to represent the Super Eagles as the national team coaches looked to solve the problematic right back spot.

As a result of his lengthy spell on the sidelines, the Nigerian Federation made moves for Ola Aina, Tyronne Ebuehi and Brian Idowu.

I rate this boy highly but I don't this think he will be fit enough to challenge for a shirt going to the world cup.

Odubanjo is a non starter, he has been out over a year with injury. It will take him at least six months to get match fit. And then to start playing week in week out that may come next season.

I heard he is coming back in the spring. When is that?

Yeah! You're right. Maybe after the world cup.

I think Aina should be tested in the RB role before we finally pass our verdict on him.

There was confusion btw the lines man and the referee hence the blunder. I didn't see any fear in Akpeyi through his stay on the field.

Onazi is a good player, but his positional play and style of play limits the second biggest star(Ndidi) on the teams play. Sometimes baba has to die so his superstar pikin can shine. Ogu and Mikel create a midfield for Ndidi to do what he does best. Onazi is a workaholic but his presence on the field always limits Ndidi's performances.

How?

If we can get the host Russia in pot 1, no matter who we get from pot 2, we will qualify. Portugal and Poland from that pot 1 are also beatable because of their over reliance on one man, Ronaldo or Lewandowski...Argentina too as we all knw recently....The other teams I didn't mention in pot 1, I tink it will take the grace of God to even get a draw from them. Go super eagles!!!

Rohr will drop Akpeyi only 'IF' Enyeama comes back,it's very easy to predict what Rohr can do,
it's correct Akpeyi actually did ok apart from those errors, but not too good o,just average,he was more composed than his previous performances

If Enyeama comes back two slots remain for challenge and definitely Akpeyi will be chosen ahead of Ezenwa. The remaining one is btw Uzoho and Alampasu.

It is not as if, he made spectacular saves.. Argentina were not outstanding in the first half.. They improved after the first goal.. His error put Argentina on the ascendancy

. One thing I noticed about host nations is that they are always in easy groups. Don't knw if it is fixed or they are lucky. I won't be surprised if the opening match of 2018 worldcup is Russia vs Saudi Arabia

The first goal we conceded invited the pressure. Before then, he had done nothing.. Argentina had done nothing. And there were no special saves,

In a World cup game, we would have gotten a red card and be battling with 10 men.

Akpeyi had saved two shots on goal before the first goal. Pls, research.

If one on one is no special save then there is nothing more to say.

So glad about the game. Everyone's said all that needs to be said. Although, I appreciate Mikel's game a lot, but there are sometimes he poisoned some of our attacks by slowing down the running momentum. He should learn to go with the flow sometimes when we're counter attacking.

Believe me I am impressed as you are as regards Idowu.
However, we've had men who we've seen again and again in this team. We've been able to assess their strengths and weaknesses just because we have seen them overtime. The more you know your players the better.
We know a good player when we see them, granted. That does not mean we don't need to see them again and again. Idowu has made a strong case. I've already said we want to play another friendly, and let's start that one just the way we ended this one. We want to play teams that will expose us. The earlier we know our deficiencies the better. Rohr knows that too well.
You guys should keep naming players that should go to Russia because of one match performance. We've seen Ogu again. So if we start to make that opinion about him, that's more logical.

For now, except we play dumb in our next matches, I want to believe we have a booster and "the attitude" to face highly tactical teams. Deficiencies like Mikel's on-field replacement and a trusted, tested 9, remains paramount for now. I discovered that Aina always was left to trail the left flanks Vs Algeria cos Iwobi drifted to the middle which was always helping the team, but killing Aina's influence on going forward. If only he could dribble. Overall, the team needs to fill up mistakes seen as you earlier said.

Oh Mikel slow!that's Mikel game right from U 17, nobody can change that,at what age,his game is cool now cos he always drew opponents to himself that gives other players opportunity to run into space for his passes and is working for the team, check most of our goals then you appreciate his slowness.

There's telepathy between the two of them but until there's telepathy throughout the whole team from defence, to the midfield to the attack, we don't have a team yet.

I judge a team as having reached a high degree of telepathy when one begins to see back heels, long range passes and fluid mass movement so much so that you are hard put to determine the
most important part. And I'll like this to happen shapali in our Middle.
