The person doesn't want you to know him/her. If wrong he/she will approach the bank.

Dont go to the bank. If no one come forward the bank will claim it if you go there, and there goes your gift.

The depositor wanted to pay into his account and made a mistake in account number hence the title self.
What to do. You can either leave the money in your account and you will be contacted someday by your bank when the RMs have BN reported to or walk into your bank and complain.
Ur story reminded me of a case two months ago. A secretary was asked to go and make lodgement into an account. She credited the wrong account. When the error was discovered after two months,the secretary came to the bank to complain. The recepient Account was checked and money has been withdrawn. The recepient was called and it turns out to be a 65 yrs old woman in the West. She was speaking only youruba so we had to wait for Aliyu to come and talk to her. The mama said she was at home praying for breakthrough for her daughter's coming wedding when she got the alert. She took it to her pastor who said it is a blessing from God . She went ahead and cash the money and used it to support her daughter's wedding. In fact we are at a loss of what to do. She can't refund and no money has entered that Account for years. Account was placed in lien though

Just go to the bank and lodge your complain, then anything they asked you to do is the best in this situation. But they can't deduct it without your approval. Thanks for being a good citizen, many would have being rejoicing and shouting UPANDAN that MAGA DON PAY.

Hmnn.... His best bet is to just chill down, hoping the owner will eventually notice and reach out to get the money to the right account, if not, don't be suprised, those bankers will just siphone the money......

My dear don't give it to one random hungry fellow, If u can't trace the owner, keep the money. Start by seeing the bank manager and not just any of their staff. If he can't trace the owner, do not hand out the money to him. Keep it.

go to your bank to ask dem for the depositors details but don't tell them you song know the person. . then you can return the funds to the real owner. .but you did not state how much was sent and from which bank to which bank. .well honesty pays. .keep it up
