Make it 16 in a row. This was another comeback overtime victory spearheaded by Uncle Drew's 47 points. We can not continue to play horribly during 2nd and 3rd quarters of games. We were really lucky tonight, but credit to the defense, it came alive in the 4th. The length of Tatum and Brown definitely alters and stifles the offensive strategies of opposing teams. #greenrunsdeep |

I am so proud of the eastern conference this season. Despite the disparity in talent evidenced in most of the teams in the conference, they are playing really hard and competing. Tonight Philly defeated the Jazz, the Hornets defeated the Timberwolves, and the Knicks defeated the Clippers. |

One week and suddenly the East is as competitive as the West? The Celtics are wowing everybody and now we got to say "the East". Lol.. Well, I'm convinced the Earth is flat now.. And OKC lost? Hahahahaha ![]() |

SmooshCHN:It fits the narrative for the season. Until it is June again and then GSW will be hurting parity in the league. I feel for Celtic's Brad Stevens because very soon he would get a short end of the stick like Kerr does. Very soon when these young cats grow people would say Brad is only good because he uses All star players in Kyrie, Horford, Tatum and Brown. Just wait for it. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 8:07am On Nov 21, 2017 |
Eruditor:His trajectory is similar to that of pop. He won't be disrespected like that. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Nobody: 8:08am On Nov 21, 2017 |
SmooshCHN:It's not as competitive but the narrative that the east is a wasteland just doesn't hold water. At least for now. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Eruditor: 9:03am On Nov 21, 2017 |
UlrikVandram:Pop got his reputation in hindsight. He coached Spurs to 20 wins when David Robinson went down injured and their bad fortune helped him draft Duncan who (with DRob) helped revamp the franchise. |

OKC can add KD at this point and nothing would change. Just trade the whole franchise for a pack of salted Pringles. If na to shade KD, dem no go carry last. They better wake their lazy asś up. |

I am not sure anyone is concluding the East has become as competitive or better than the west here. All I am saying is, considering the preseason narrative, it is only fair to appreciate how well the east is playing despite the obvious talent disparity. The west is still the best and most competitive conference in the league. When Brad Stevens was hired he told Ainge and the owners that he was not interested in a team that wanted to tank until it succeeded. Brad's success story is totally different and the narrative would be different from Kerr's because he did not inherit all stars like Kerr. He worked closely with Ainge in drafting Brown 3rd (the pick from Brooklyn) and he had everything to do with Tatum after he watched the kid workout with the Celtics. Danny Ainge had his eyes on Josh Jackson of the Suns but Brad was not interested in a player who missed working out with the Celtics because of schedule conflict. The same can be said of Big AL and Baynes who he called personally spoke to Popovic about even though was no longer with the Spurs. As for Kyrie, this is where Ainge pulled the magic and when the Cavs wanted Brown, Brad asked that the deal be cancelled or they can have the future top 5 pick but he is not letting Brown go. Brad built this team himself from the scratch, there absolutely no way anyone would ascribe the greatness of this team now or in the future without mentioning Brad. Kyrie and Big AL were not drafted by the Celtics and the rise of the Celtics did not start after trading for Big AL or Kyrie. I love Steve Kerr, however, It's a totally different story in comparison to Brad. |

While Brad Stevens' work is outstanding so far, even his most vociferous supporters have fallen into taking the hindsight-bias that may plague Kerr for the rest of his career - This position that he inherited all-stars - which in reality, is simply not true. Curry, Klay, Draymond were not all stars. Draymond was not even a starter. The only All-stars were David Lee and Iggy who were, but not really integral to Kerr's success. If only Kerr had won 50 games his first season, 55 his next, 60 after before getting to 67 and 73 he would have been respected. His mistake was taking a team that could barely mop up 50 wins and transforming them into 67 wins and a ring in his first season. Then the narrative became that he played injured teams. Following year on the back of his 73 wins, that is when he became an average Joe with all star players who squandered a 3-1 lead. Nobody could make the excuse that his all star team missed the MVP and later on, their main center (away from the diabolical refereeing). Like I said, nobody hates you when you are working towards a goal so expect the praises for Brad to pile up. Then let them get pummelled as top seeds to say, Cavs, or even better, let them win something, and watch the narrative change soon. |

I'm all for Kyrie and the Celtics. Kyrie's got the heart of a lion.. It'll all be interesting post season when Cavs get Isaiah Thomas.. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Decale: 8:22pm On Nov 21, 2017 |
SmooshCHN:I'm surprised people are batting eyelids towards Celtics or undermining Cavs this season. We've seen this M.O for the past 2 or 3 seasons: Lose a lot of games in regular season; playoff time, sweep the best guns in the conference. This is the same Cavs that have beaten all of them big teams this season without a PG, rounding it off with the humiliation of Pistons. Hawks in 2015 broke the NBA record in a month FFS. What happened? I no talk say Celtics no get hope ooo. Just that the odds dey like 12. P.S: The decision to start Calderon last night was the best decision Lue has made this season. He should keep the momentum... |

aliondo:I'm fed up, man. I didn't even bother staying up for the Pelicans game as i was still pissed off about the Spurs disaster and good thing i did. Another game, same old failings. Donovan is fvcking inept. Melo is not cut out for that PF role. Adams is back but not at his best. Russ and his triple-doubles won't change anything for me. I've already accepted our L against the Warriors. Make dem just make the playoffs. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by aliondo: 12:11am On Nov 22, 2017 |
pkasso:Melo is not bad..just that he is not clutch .Him and Westbrook cannot close. That has been our problem for some seasons now i.e closing games. P.G comes close to the best player we have to close games. A fine example of a closer is Kyrie. |
