You are talking about merit here. What is your discipline? What is your selected program? If your certificate and the program have no connection, forget about selection.

Besides, if we are to judge you by your ability to write, you made many errors in your post above. I expect the usual line, "Is English your mother tongue?"
Hey, Mr English teacher, I never applied for any fvcking npower sh!t!!! I don't blame you because people like you believe every assessment should start and end in essay writing even when your writeup is below standard. Widen your thinking horizon, imp!!!

Don't be so sure. You are talking about "how it is supposed to be" rather than "how it is". In this Npower 2017, I've seen someone who studied administrative course shortlisted for Nagro and OND holder shortlisted for Nteach.

I'm not trying to defend this government, because it's practically indefensible. But in my approach to things, I argue in support of due process. Politicians will always tamper with things - following due process to some percentage so that the populace will not bad-mouth the whole process. My point is that before criticizing, ensure you meet all requirements.

You see Nigerians.

most are liars and dubious. Because something didn't go your way does not mean it wasn't fair. Most don't have conscience and we keep on blaming the politicians and our leaders as if the politicians weren't previously ordinary Nigerians. If you sack all government officials today and replace them with Nigerians you would still get the same result or even worse.

Just take a look at the guy up there saying someone didn't fill a form but was preselected. Haba...how come? Oya provide the details of the so called person and he has gone deaf and dumb.

And our Oga software engineer Donkalio. Can you kindly please tell us with facts how it has been hijacked? You just don't make stu.pid allegations without proof. You provide irrefutable proof. That's how to critique. That's how to you put government on their toes and not just crying wolf about everything and anything.

If you don't have concrete evidence as regards malpractice please kindly keep your mouth shut lest you sound like a derelict.

well said ......

I stated what I observed in honesty. If what you noticed is different, you can state it without making it sound like I'm lying.
The 2 persons who got selected were even the least enthusiastic about the jobs because one already got a good job before selection while the other has a good biz, npower was just for extra cash.

The problem with your type is that once things don't go your way, then there's bias.
This country is doomed with people like you parading themselves as leaders of tomorrow!!! from your post you stated that people Who u knew that got preselected are well-to-do(they already have jobs)

If Npower were as articulate as I expect them to be do u think such persons are qualified to get preselected

My stance still remains that the scheme was too lazy to carryout their duty thus , the lapses in their selection pattern.

those that need the jobs won't get it while those that need it for "extra cash" will get it...What a fair scheme I must say...smh.

God bless you, my sister...You just unclothed truth!
Obviously, I was not pre selected for N-Teach because I answered 33 questions well and I had a degree in education. If education is the key, Nigeria is the lock.

I'm yet to understand why we were made to write test, if they are obviously not going to use the test.
I understand it's not everyone that will benefit from the scheme, but why not go about it, why put us through the stress of writing primary 6 English test and few current affairs. Even the STEM questions wasn't difficult.

It's more like an insult to us biko

See my brother I understand that, it's not everyone that will benefit from this scheme but my problem is npower toying with people's intelligence and time.
Why were we made to write the test?
If they say it's for graduate only, I know many education graduate with good grade that wasn't selected for nteach, I know someone that read business administration that was selected for nhealth.
Mind you, if your bvn doesn't correspond with your name, then you won't even write the test.

So why put us through the stress of writing useless test, stress of waiting only to dash our hope.

I'm yet to understand their criteria for selection.

Well anyone dependent on this our government is on their own.

So because he's applied for npower, he should have rejected the job offer that came in between application and selection? The npower he was never sure about?
And in the second case - npower is for "unemployed" youths, running a business doesn't exempt her from applying. I'm sure you'll do same.
How do you propose npower identify those that "need" the job and those who don't?

As an advice, you'll do well to change your signature from smart to dumb, everything about your reasoning defines dumbness.

Meritocracy:
I applied for Npower create in 2016 but not selected, also applied for N-teach this year and not selected. I know I pass the test including I.T based test which made me loose hope in Npower stuff. I believe if the candidate were pre-selected on merit there is no way I won't be selected. Long live Npower.
npower is a ponzi scheme by d illiterate and never do well government, n a full time try ur luck..if the organizers and manipulators of d npower, can touch their selves on d chest and tell demselves the truth, all d ignorant farce fanatics of 30k politics, a.k.a random beneficiaries, especially at dis second round exposé, that really points to a lot going on in government and npower, would shut up..Nigerian government officials have really perfect their skills in manipulating most Numbskull nigerian youths, to d point they even come to their defence, neccesarry or not.... traces of hijack and total laziness to create a merit system, or straight selection system void of ponzi and bias,or probably a sensless lazy act of throw d lots into d crowd and who ever preselection falls on should begin to skelewu, as many are doing now and playing devils advocate for 30k is practically ways playing out from hence...is d so called ficticious unsustainable programme of completely backward non-industrious Nigeria state, with no modality insight for futuristic or present day technology , business and industrilaization for multiplying jobs and sustainable growth the kind of thing unemployed, semi-employed , or underemployed Nigerian youths need in a fast evolutionary 21 century world?.. 30k has not and would never wipe the sins of the Nigerian government away, and would never hide their current shamelessness from d deliberate negligence of what to do right... But atleast if they cannot hide from being callous in anything, either beggining or half way into their ventures, they can atleast, keep their hand of d monkey away from dis their small 30k business wash..especially as it has proven a lot about setup of d content and likes of individuals in d present day government.. If they have selected most pre-selected, they should just shut up and take their 30k and not play advocate for a government who know notting about imperative priorities since its inception , filled with goons and human jargons

Nigerians can be so funny. Because some of you aren't selected you believed the pre-selection stage wasn't fair enough. After I registered, I never put my hope on Npower because, chances of getting it is slim. Picking 300,000 out of 2.5 million is not an easy task. Though, I was pre-selected I still don't bank on Npower. 30k is a chicken feed in today's economy. If I should get another job right now, Npower is a bygone. Whether you are selected or not, let us look for better opportunities.

most of u are not even getting the point, dats y goons in government get along with their fooly and plabiean practice of fake buzy-ness and insult of pples intelligence... 300, 000 out of over 6million applicants, how have dat alleviated or achieved the goal of breaking the scourge of unemployment amongs unemployed graduates / youths talk more of non graduates? ...don't miss d point my friend, many who are here have very good jobs they could be doin , like wise many who do not..but when d folly of a government is looked thru d eyes of d rational lens of sane observation, it marvels you when its governed play to its defence or wave their hands in "negligence", saying no word, without seeing its impending catastrophe as a government presiding over dem.

Unemployment issue in Nigeria has been in a state of comatose for more than a decade. The problem I have with both past and the present govt is not tackling the issue from the root, which is visible to everyone. Npower is not even a full-time employment but a volunteering job. Anybody that depends on Nigeria govt is just wasting his or her time. In Nigeria we only build individuals, but not institutions.

I dont know why people are criticizing N power .

Out of 2.2 million did you expect npower to shortlist everyone that applied?

If you are not shortlisted that does not indicate npower is bias. Remember thousands of people got npower without connection.

God bless Mr president and God bless Nigeria
for thirty thousand....something that shd be unemployment benefit.... Wat a country and continent....we talking minimum wage yet our useless leaders will not care to look at what people received from companies and various factories as payment....

also from kwara state...
That is why most were not selected in Kwara state if you don't know oga at the top. I can't talk for other states but I understand how politics is used in every areas in Kwara. Even if govt want to employ public toilet cleaner, politicians in Kwara will lobby for the slots.

I'm not a fan of this Buari's administration but truth be told, npower have been transparent. I know of many people who were selected and they don't know anybody except God. Over 2million people applied and 300k was selected, so it's just normal that many people are not selected

In kwara state, politicians were giving out npower forms to their people to fill during registration. Initially I did not believe it when someone told me until I saw it myself. It was funny when a guy received test alert 3 hrs later after filling his form the same day. This shows the politicians hijacked most of the slot in kwara state. How come 11 people in my neighbourhood that I know when they registered were not selected.
Many selected people in other state mite be lucky if their states are not corrupt like the state I mentioned above. I helped 5 people registered and non were selected, how come? What happened to them? People that know Oga at the npower engine room will never come here and say they know someone at the top. It is until my guys names come out today or later before I can say npower selection is not fixed.
Apart from people I know, I heard of many people are still complaining of not seeing their names.

You are hundred % correct. They gave politicians and traditional rulers , state house of assembly members and so on.

Npower!
I don't even know what to tell you guys.
The test was a walkover, I don't know the processes and criteria of your selection. Why give the test if the test is not one of the criteria?
Don't even bother with bvn issue, because if your bvn and name doesn't match, you won't be able to write the test.

You guys started early with the foul play, I thought it was going to be at the verification that the mago mago will start.

Nteach was worse, with others answering just 11 questions, we answered 33 questions, questions that I will answer all over again even in my sleep.

I'm disappointed, but it's well!
no bro,if the name doesnt match you can write the test,i wrote the test b4 our first NYSC allowee payment and not until i wanted to withdraw my 2nd allowee dat access bank inform me of an err in my name and bvn record with skye, dey themselve didnt see the mistake at skybank,i guess datz wat affected mine,if anyone isn't selected go to ur bank (where you did ur bvn registration) and complain and correct it,A misspelt name can spell odi for it

Well is that not another lie from them?
That's not the info we had, we were meant to believe that people that were unable to write the test was because of their bvn didn't tally with their name.

I for one don't have issue with bvn and many others too, I only use a two name format from my childhood till date.
Abeg make I free npower matter.
