Instead of Rose, we should get Ryan sessegnon of Fulham.

You don't get it. Those with world cup and UCL experience in United were not our best players when Mourinho arrived. Rooney, Schweinsteiger, Carrick, were ready to retire. Rojo was developed by Mourinho to be the player he is today. Rashford, Martial and Lingard had no experience, and were our best.
Compare to Aguero, De Bruyne, Sterling, Fenadinho Silva who were City best players when Guardiola arrived, you can see a huge difference in quality.
Mourinho inherited a far weaker and an unstable team.
Most of the players in Man Utd were young and agile. Unlike those in City.

Rojo already had world cup experience. Rojo played a world cup final before he met Mourinho so how was Mourinho the one who developed him, Mata won a world cup and was in good age, Blind performed well in the world cup better than any City player and he was already a key player before Mourinho arrived

The fact still remained that Guardiola inherited the 2nd oldest team in the league and Mourinho inherited the 2nd youngest team in the league

You don't get it. We are talking about the experience of the best players from both teams. Experience now in terms of world cup, Champions League and Euro nations cup.

The best players in Manchester United were Rashford, Martial and Lingard.

City had Aguero, Silva and Sterling. We could add Fernadinho to City and Carrick to United.

We cannot begin to count Mata who is substitute for Spain and was even dropped from the team when Mourinho arrived. Rojo also was a substitute in Gaal's team when Mourinho arrived.

We are looking at the players who were the best for their teams. United players clearly lacked the experience. Rashford was just from feeder's team and till now still exhibits characteristics of an inexperienced player. Same with Martial. On the other hand, Aguero is a world class forward. Silva is arguably the best hole player in the world. Sterling had far more experience both in club and country than Rashford, Martial and Lingard.

In the midfield, Carrick was over due for retirement just like Toure. But Fernadinho is far more experienced than Herrera and Schneiderlin.

United always finished below City after 2012/2013. City won the league recently with those players Guardiola inherited.

So Guardiola walked into a far better team.

The young age of our players when Mourinho came in was a minus, not a plus. If Martial and Rashford were around 23-25 years, we could say it was a plus.

Now he is being linked to tottenham/liverpool...I've scouted this boy for like 2 years now and even his consistency and fitness levels at such a young age is encouraging...I watch their games because of him...this was how we lost Gareth bale from southampton years ago....ryan is better than blind and can almost be good and better than shaw with experience. Our scouts should wake up

This is how a team should have agile players.

When Ronaldo and Rooney helped United to dominate EPL and played in 3 UCL finals in 4 years:

1. They already had played world cup and Euro nations cup as some of the most respected players in the world. Before United bought Rooney, he and Ronaldo were among the best in Euro 2004. The went to the 2006 world cup as two of the best players to watch out for.

2. They had years of Premier division league experience behind them.

3. They played with world class Scholes, Giggs, Ferdinand who still carried on for more years. That means plenty of great and experienced players with agility. Even Neville still played till 2009. RvN still played a while.

But Rashford and Martial had none of the the above. The world class players who could have given them world class stability were retiring because their legs were tired. Rooney, Schweinsteiger and Carrick. So we had young players who were very agile but inexperienced mixed with old experienced players who were ready to quit.

But Manchester City had Aguero, Silva, Sterling, Fernadinho, Kompany, De Bruyne who were some of the best players in the world and are still agile. So it is just a matter of adding here and there and the team is settled.

Rashford and Martial could help United in the future, just like Ronaldo and Rooney helped to stop the dominance of Chelsea in 2006/2007

I sometimes even forget to add that Guardiola inherited De Bruyne.

Abeg, even if na me inherited those players (Aguero, Silva, Sterling, Fernadinho, Kompany, De Bruyne), I for fit coach them contest for league title. grin

What do you guys think of this sudden madness where every speech is misconstrued to mean sexual harassment especially when a lady is at the receiving end? A time might come when we might be forbidden to speak at all to avoid being accused of sexual harassment. How is calling a woman "love" a sexual harassment? I use such endearing words occasionally, so I don't see the big deal there. Oyinbos get too much wahala.

There isn't an iota of sexual harassment in Townsend's words. Those guys on social media crying their lungs out only want attention. Ladies call people close to them affectionate names all the time, I haven't seen anyone terming that "sexual harassment".

They're probably reacting that way because of Aluko's recent brush with racism in England.

There was no experience Man City had that was missing in Man Utd when you had DDG, Blind Rojo who were key players and more experienced

Martial scored 11 goals before Mourinho came in his debut season with better management, Martial could have been a 20goal a season player now that he is older and more experienced in the league same with Rashford who were some of the best young players in Europe them definitely better than Sane and Sterling

Mata was a regular before Mourinho and that he was dropped isnt anyones fault, He was part of the team inherited by Mourinho. Mata is younger than Silva and if properly managed and not expected to run several miles per game he can deliver almost as much as Silva.

If Mourinho had taken over Man City maybe he will be telling Silva to support defence and Aguero to help the left back.now Silva is almost relieved of all defensive duties and he is able to play well into his old age and not burn out. Thats the coach management

Martial just wasnt a young player he was the most expensive teenager, the equivalent of Mbappe now, No team in the world wont play him on current form

Before Mourinho and Pep touched both teams I would have picked Martial and Rashford over Sterling and Sane. Right now Sterling alone has 8 league goals while Rashford plus Martial have 8 in the league

The team Guardiola took over had Sagna Kolarov, Mangala, Kompany, Fernando, Navas Zabaleta, Clichy Yaya, all these were core players

For example this was the City lineup vs Madrid one of their biggest games of the season

Hart, Sagna, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy, Fernando, Fernandinho, Toure, Navas, De Bruyne, Aguero.
Subs: Caballero, Mangala, Kolarov, Delph, Sterling, Bony, Iheanacho

7 of the 11 starters are not main players anymore. Meaning only 4 of the 11 are useful in any capacity 18months later. Of the 5 subs only Deplh and Sterling are useful in any capacity

So out of 18 players named to face Madrid only 6 are still playing important roles.

I'm not confident about this game. It's an away match and Watford are solid. We lost there last season even without that big head coach Marco S.

But BBC's Lawro says we'll win. I find a little solace in that, although Lawro doesn't know what he's saying most times.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in the statement, my grouse with The English media is that they blow things out of proportion, this is a total load of rubbish, even the Aluko racist issue that has been flooding the media for sometime now is blown out of proportion.
Here in the UK women are allotted too much power unnecessarily. I just left the post office at Stratford centre few hours ago, the young lady at the counter keep answering my questions with "yes love" i was impressed with her affectionate gesture and i didnt feel embarrassed, and I know she says to most male customers. So women are allowed to "harrsas" men but not vice versa. No wonder marriage is phasing out in the UK. Men, especially those with huge fortune dont go into marriage any longer. They prefer to get a woman give him a child and you walk.

You can call Sterling a key player for City now but before Guardiola many people regarded him as a flop, City isnt as dependent on Aguero anymore and Kompany is a bit part player

Ibra needs to start this match.....that lethargic style won't work against watford because they are a boisterous team...so we need someone with the technical skills to deliver smart passes to lukaku as well as to hold up the ball for the runners when we are counter attacking as well as for height during set pieces or taking free kicks. We need the ball on the ground in this match

Nobody can judge your intent. Nobody can see into your heart.

As a public figure, you have to be guarded with your utterances and only speak in terms that cannot be misinterpreted.

Andy Townsend surely must know this.

If we are going to be word police then everyone will flout this these are words spoken real time, not newspaper editorials that you had time to edit and re-edit.

So if an old granny uses the term honey for a guy on air, "Hey honey, you take yourself too serious" Will that also be sexual harrasment?
