Sahara Reporters and their obsession with Saraki. What does he need the licence for right now? He obviously practised but the hospital is closed. I don't see the news here.

Truth is they and PremiumTimes have been going beyond other media houses to report news and I appreciate them but SaharaReporters behave unprofessional at times.

Even in Nigeria,if U stay for a few years without recertification, updates and renewing your practicing license, you will not be allowed to practice legally until U do all those.

Certified?
Are you literate? There is no where it says not certified.
To practice in the UK you need to pay for a licence every year. If you don't pay you are not licensed
You also need to do up to 50hours CPD every year in other to revalidate your licence every 5 years. If you got your degree in the UK but live somewhere else or for any other reason do not update your licence it will lapse. I am sure this applies to most professionals.

Are you just knowing that sarrki is an illiterate? His poor command of English should have given him up a long time ago.

You guys have to understand something, the young man just practiced for a few years and ever since then he has left the profession. He has no current license to practice and to do so he will have to go back to school for 6months or more depending on their regulations.
In Nigeria or elsewhere for u to renew ur license, u must show evidence that you ave been practicing prior to the previous one expiring which is what happened to Saraki.

This report is malicious with an intent to discredit the subject.

This is one of those things I hate about this SR, you don't need a qualification to be a politician. Even our current president, what does he have?

Nonsense post. They want someone who is almost a bank CEO to keep updating his medical license. What for?
He had a better job and did not want to do the hassle of recertification. Do you know how much money he would loss by putting in the required 50hrs for recertification.

So where did he practice ?

Seems u dont understand anything regarding medical practice.
He was provisionally registered and then fully registered a year later meaning he used his provisional license to do his 1 year housemanship in the UK and after completion, he was fully registered. Its exactly how it's done here too.
Housemanship means he worked as a doctor in UK

the article said he was registered in 1988 but he is not registered now as validation is done every fives years, so do you want saraki to go and be practicing medicine in uk as ED, of sgbn or as governor or senate president ?

many doctors in Nigeria are not licenced to practice medicine here. if you do not pay for licence, you are not licenced and you cannot practice. this is applicable globally to professional courses like medicine.

Dude, stop behaving like a small baby. In the UK as well as any other place, for you to maintain your licence to practice, you must remain on the GMC practice and part of the requirements for that is that you pay your annual dues as well as do your periodic revalidation. Failure to do that means you lose your licence to practice irrespective of the fact that you've practiced before. A licence to practice doesn't last a life time. Saraki obviously is not maintaining his registration as he has no need to.

He was ! Read it again . Doctors certification becomes invalid once you fail to renew your license . Saraki did and has a Gmc number which showed he was licensed to practice . But since he failed to renew it , it lapsed . That is the practice worldwide .
The story is misleading and inaccurate

Abi o ! Help me ask the OP again. what are we suppose to do with this news. Is it every law students that ended practicing as a barrister/solicitors? is it every Banking and Finance graduates that work in the bank? When your Dad has multi million investment here in Nigeria, what do you expect from such person. In such a scenario my brother many people would have tolled that same line to be honest with ourselves. How much will medical practice fetch him when the position of MD/CEO of a bank is waiting for him at home.
