You did not include the average balance for the past 6 months, which is part of the requirements. If you had done that, any huge lump sum after ITA will likely be obvious.

Santino1:

Just to add another perspective to the discussion. Like I already mentioned in my PPR rant, I only got a one page letter from Credit Suisse a couple of days before my ITA stating all my accounts, date they were opened etc (i.e. following the CIC guideline) and my balance on the day the letter was printed. Thus, in my opinion there is no way to know if I had a lump sum deposited a day before the letter was printed or not.

Note to all. I'm not advising people to start circumventing the process (if CIC catch you and slam 5 years ban on you for lying, Santion1 no dey abeg). Just though I should enrich the discussion.

Totally agree with this. It is always better to just get gift deed done for huge lump sum.
Kontagious:

Thank you fellas.

Cochtrane, precedence has it that some if not many got away with such arrangement but sadly, we hardly ever read of rejections/bans on this thread. That does not take away the fact that some do actually get banned, and of course, not a set rule that this POF arrangements leads to rejection/ban. I asked just so we exercise caution and be ready/able to defend whatever document that is put forward.

Santino1, truly, providing POF in the required format will not reveal one received a lump sum few days before printing the letter but if that particular account over the past 6 months had far lesser inflows/outflows, then the average balance for the last month will be significantly different from the previous 5. Thus, it will be easy to conclude a major inflow came in the last month. This I presume does not apply to you. Even if you had a huge deposit in the last month, judging by your posts so far, I’d assume you have such inflows/outflows over time thereby making your balance for the six months somewhat balance. But for someone whose account has been receiving salary of say N400,000 with other little inflows then getting a sudden hit of N5m, average balance for the 6th month will be way greater than the other 5. Then again, it’s safe to say most Nigerian applicants don’t get the luxury of having the CIC POF format.

Raconteur14, your input is valued. True time of deposit does not necessarily matter. But having one month (the last month at that) stand like Okorocha’s statues amongst midgets just doesn’t look good to me. Especially when I know I received the money as a gift. I’d rather back that document up necessarily before being asked to explain, then I start looking for ways to do what should have been done before.

No one is saying applicants should not receive heavy amounts at any one time but can that money be explained when the question is asked? My concern was born out of curiosity as it seems some of us prefer not to go the gift deed route, hence, we receive the money then throw in FD/Tbills. The ultimate question I silently ask is, how do you defend this if you get ADR for 6/12 months statement of account. Recently, we’ve seen some ridiculous ADR coming from LVO in particular. That statement will definitely reveal what the applicant initially tried burying. Consequence of the statement and fate of the applicant is what is left for the VO to decide.

Thank you guys.

Hello good people, and many thanks to you all.

I am kinda new here though I have been reading this thread for a week now, pretty long I must confess but I have a question and would really appreciate if someone can guide me.

Brief summary of myself:
I am 24 years and I have about 3 years work experience in Quality Assurance and software testing as well as Project management with an IT firm. I graduated from Babcock university in 2013 and served and been working since then. I recently just decided to pursue immigration to Canada. The question I have now are listed below:

1.I tried to get my WES evaluation done, i have registered and I have my school transcript with me as i had requested for it about 2 years ago, though I have opened the seal but its still signed. can I still use it for my WES evaluation or I have to request for another transcript?

2. Who can point me to IELTS study materials that they have used and proven helpful recently?

3. Is it wise for me to go through EE route or I should try going for my masters in Canada considering my age.

Would appreciate a prompt response.

Thank you all

In line with above, is it better to provide a gift deed or proof of land sale for a lump sum (about half of the POF for a family of 5)? Especially in a case where both PA and spouse have been working for over 10years each?

Please, help with a response. Thank you.

1) You have to request another transcript. The school should send it to WES
2) Go through the thread again, alot of people have shared what worked for them
3) This decision can only be made by you. Get more info about EE and Masters and do an analysis on the one which will benefit you more. Decide this before writing IELTS.

Abeg make una no jump my tori....help a sister
Hello Everyone,
I have constantly followed the thread jejely but I think I need to share my story because I am so so down right now. Hubby and I got ITA May and deadline was Aug 30th meanwhile I was pregnant then, so we decided to wait for the little one to come so we can add him straight to the application, which was why we waited a day before the deadline. We could not get his passport and birth certificate early like we planned so we ended up submitting on the 29th without the little one but we gat POF for the three of us. We didn't hear anything from CIC for a long time then hubs raised a CSE when we had all the document for the little one. We got a mail to upload his documents before 30th of Sept but we did on the 11th of Sept which was a day after the mail came.
Fast forward to November.....no changes yet not even medical passed. Then on the 24th of November we noticed they already created application for the little one on our CIC timeline and after that nothing happened till now. Not even medical passed since Aug 29th.
My concern now is that we wanted to visit our family members in the state but we were not granted visa last week, .Do we need to inform CIC about the new visa denial?
.Do we call them or raise CSE?
.Hubby and I gat two visa denial before which we already stated before submission, will all ds visas denial affect our chances and application?
Note* We have called them twice and the lady that spoke with us told us sincerely that the file was not yet treated since August o. Egbami o! I am so confused and frustrated.

Sorry for the long write up.

Thank you all

1). You have to request another transcript. Check the requirements by WES at https://www.wes.org/required-documents/
2). Check on YouTube. There are myriads of video materials that are really good for study and practice. You may also wish to check http://ieltsliz.com/. It's a very good resource.
3). If I were your age with the number of years of work experience etc, I'd give IELTS a shot and go through the EE route. I think you'd stand a very good chance there.

Good luck in your decision making

Hello everyone,
Please help with an answer on how to go about sending my certificate to WES via fax. I have read the threads 1 and 2 for several weeks and can't seem to figure out how to go about it clearly. I have registered with WES Canada and hellofax.com and hope to pay the fees online soon. From extensive research, got several resources and I intend to write the IELTS ASAP. I once applied for transcript in OOU which I ended up not using and don't want to pay 80k applying for another. Kindly help! I need to set the ball rolling, want a different story in 2018! Seniors please come to my rescue o. By the way, your efforts are all commendable! Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedules to help people you barely even know.

and this is where one doesn't need anxiety at all so that it doesn't make you stutter and/or forget what you intend to communicate. IELTS does not test you based on the level of anxiety though but just ensure it doesn't significantly affect your articulation, flow and coherence. That anxiety been hold me too, I no go lie. I did. Sorry I didn't make that explicit in my post.

I still think if the lump sum is not so large as to skew the six months average, it shouldn't raise a red flag.

Here is mathematical illustration of what I mean:

Assuming my average balance for the first five months is 20k (e.g (20+20+20+20+20+20)/5) or any other permutations. If in the sixth month I received 40k instead of the usual 20k. My six month average will be 23k instead of 20k despite receiving double the amount in the sixth month.

Don't get me wrong, I understand your point (e.g. a guy having a near zero average for the first five month receiving 90% of his POF in the sixth month would surely raise a red flag. But my point is someone who has about 70-80% of his/her POF over 5 months on average shouldn't raise a red flag because he receives a lump sum in the sixth month.

Again, this is only for discussion purpose only and don't try to cut corners with CIC.

Modify: Thanks Kontagious, you've pretty much covered everything. Sorry I didn't see your post before posting.

Hello!
I am a registered pharmacist here in the Philippines and I've recently applied for the FSW program. In the ECA evaluation, I know that PEBC is for me if I wish to practice Pharmacy in Canada, but can I be employed to other jobs (like customer service, receptionist, etc.) if I only have PEBC as my ECA evaluation? Should I also go for WES? I mean, once I'm in Canada, I can't take the license exam instantly, and I need a job once I'm there and while waiting for it. I really need your help guys.

Also, I've finished the five-year Pharmacy course.
