So so sorry about your denial dear. I understand how frustrating it could be. But I feel your challenge is on your choice of University and your choice of words. You didn't respond + research + defend well and this is why I said so:

1. The two Universities are not on the same level my sister/ brother in terms of ranking. Franklin University, Columbus Ohio is rated 830 in the US while University of Houston is rated number 77 . Can you see the difference? So why would you choose a lowly ranked school if number 77 found you worthy of an admission? And the way you answered the VO, "Of course!!!!"..as if you be Wole Soyinka lol … if I be VO, I go ask you to bring your head lemme knock you

2. Standardized test. I know SAT is a perquisite for admission into a bachelors, just like GRE is to Graduate School. I don't know if IELTS alone is accepted for bachelors. Remember, these are midnight inspirations flying into my head and if investigated, can be linked to your delayed visa.

It's never too late. At least small soup still remain for the pot as you never spill am finish. Now this is what you must do to please the visa gods

1. I don't know sha o, but I will advise you try again dear and this time, when asked, how many schools did you apply to, maintain your choice of words but talk more like an INTELLIGENT STUDENT WEY SABI WETIN HIM DEY FIND. Don't twist the stated truth which is counting in your favour already into a lie just cos you feel you will get a soft landing o (cos it's been recorded o. Remember VO is typing as you speak) but go this way:[/b]

Do not just throw a casual answer like you did. Back it up with something stringent. This nah reason wey enter my head now sha o .But on you own, you suppose know the reason why you chose FUC or better still follow my second advise which I feel is much more safer and best if proven by experienced gurus in the house.

2. Since Houston gave you admission too (which I am somehow doubting o in my VO mind ), refire with their i-20 as it is a much more better school that your chosen FUC. Though I would want the gurus to react on this one sha cos of SEVIS transfer or stuffs like that. Don't know she, all nah reason wey dey enter my head by inspiration this midnight o

Though something in me is telling me that if HOUSTON hadn't admitted you as you claimed, then you were on the verge of bagging your visa. But because your answers were casual without concrete reasons to back them up, now you have to try again.


Good a thing VO said you are not eligible at the moment which means hope dey, you could be eligible if you work on your lapses well and sound more like a genuine student wey sabi wetin him want next time u face the VO.

Haba, when Walspring's offer was on I was directing everyone I knew to him. Now that ponpon has his thing going, never a day passes by without me recommending him or the company in question.

I feel bad for Nigerians who pay N75k+ for an exam that they could have paid N50k or less for that is why I do it. I have no horse in this race.

I also paid through paypal then and it was painful finding out about other means to pay

Yes, you must go through the designated agency. That is why i said J1 visa is the easiest. Once you get the documents from the agency, your Visa na 90% confirm. so for J1 visa, you will need to go through Dept of State designated agencies

All my J1 interview, Vo just ask for my DS form and Sevis plus insurance and told me to pick up my visa while handling me the white paper.

It was like i went there to do finger print.

My first J1 visa interview was the longest and it took approximately 30secs to 1min, 30secs.

PS: i didn't apply in Nigeria, maybe that was a factor too (it was definitely a factor in getting direct contact with one of the DOS agency)

I guess the number of denial with good response today alone justifies the testimony(transcript) of Cassy14 when she rightly stated the number of denial before hers showing her gratitude to God.

I dont know if God seats in heaven & carries out visa lotteries on who to grant visa like you jokingly or mockingly said, but am certain it takes Gods favour to secure one. Eccl 9:11 the race is not to the swift nor the battle is to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding nor yet favour to men of skills.

That you sleep & rise, got ur visa while others did not or you got a job and others were not as lucky as u were is not because you are better, but because a higher authority chose to set you apart. You may call it luck but I call it favour.

So if you have forgotten the place of God in one's life by reason of long stay in the USA, I suggest u return to Nigeria and learn or relearn what Gods favour truelly is.

I must acknowledge the great work everyone is doing here. Both those asking the questions and people responding to these questions. His transcript goes thus;

Hopefully, mine wil come up next year. I had to reconsider further processing of St John University as I wasn't awarded TA. New York is very expensive place to study and live and like Egbon Twood would say, take your time to plan your study. Lagosismyhome would always advise, REFIRE! That's what I have done with three schools for Fall 2018.

Me: I picked GIS because it will give me the opportunity to solve Nigeria problem in sectors such as transportation, housing and public health..(she was typing very fast.. she just paused all of a sudden and stared at me.....and said..Do you mean you wanna solve Nigeria problems with cartography?)

Rich Americans still take the SAT. But as you said, if you have your money and all you're interested in is a low tier school simply interested in your tuition, sure.

I like your last line. In there lies the irony that you obviously missed. It seems God’s “favor” only exists in countries where people are too incompetent to rule themselves. Favor is simply grace unmerited. Favor is being able to wake up when others don’t, it is being blessed to breathe, enjoy good health and long life. Favor is NOT when you obtain a visa. The decision on whether a visa is issued or not isn’t based on how long you prayed or how well you fasted. It’s based on the fact that you met a clear set of criteria best known to the VO who interviewed you. Others may not get visas, but you don’t get to see the rationale for why they were denied. You have zero idea if they had once misrepresented themselves in previous applications. You have no clue if they have prior histories of visa denials... to say you were favored over them is to perpetuate the stereotype that we are a lazy people overly dependent on the spiritual since we are unable to think for ourselves. If we were competent enough to run a corrupt-free country, where everyone does the right thing, we won’t need a visa to go to America in the first place.

Let’s get real, we pray really hard, not because we love God, but because there is no hope elsewhere. We are simply emergency “Christians”, forced to lean on the spiritual in the face of grinding poverty and pervasive despondency.

I do not depend on favor to have electricity at home or travel to Germany tomorrow. I just benefit from being part of a society where integrity and hard work is favored over endless hypocritical church going.

You're wrong Bro, maybe as you have always been when it comes to the acknowledgement of God, it's isn't a surprise because the way God works is beyond your imagination, especially those far from him.
Why not read about Peter, Joseph, David, Daniel, Solomon and other distinguished youths we have in the Bible that were singled out through this same said grace and see how they got the grace among those that still has the said breath.

God's grace appears in all manner of ways!!
