the ones employed were surely among the 74 they were to employ. If they were 7 Board members and each had 4-5 slots then we can say up to 35-40 were recruited towards end of last year. I doubt if the entire vacancies were filled. The out gone Board would surely not fill up the entire vacancies for obvious reasons but what they did mostly was to give appointments to their relatives and close friends so as not to lose out completely. Definitely, a new Board will employ more hands but trust Nigeria, it may still be the same method of secret recruitment. they may not want to use the Restral report of employment. You know that whomever comes in as new chairman and board members will also be under pressure to put their own people. NERC is a very sweet place to work hence the attraction of getting in by any means.

This is to inform u all that the last recruitment wasn't concluded according a reliable source. A friend & colleague of mine while we were in sch. & whose uncle is the ag. chairman of the fed. character commission told me that he once asked the chairman about the the recruitment & he told him that the immediate past commissioners before leaving office took to fcc a list of candidates they wanted to recruit & in response fcc sent them away because due process wasn't followed. I believe the story & this means that the recruitment wasn't concluded. New commissioners have resumed work though without a chairman with the vice chairman acting for the chairman. I also heard that many MDAs are recruiting this year & NERC is one of them. So may be (just may be) the recruitment will be started afresh. Stay blessed

@GMB4REAL: Interesting perspective bro. Thank you for this info. I am quite sure the Amadi team recruited some people a few months before they left. Even if Federal Character Commission did not allow them to fully conclude it, they still picked a select few relatives and friends. It will be good if these new management can revisit the recruitment though i suspect they may want to start it afresh. It will serve us well if the Ag. Chairman will continue to stand for justice and fairness in government recruitment. There will be many agencies recruiting this year as you stated. let's put our ear to the ground and spread information whenever any of us hears anything. Thank you all.

@GMB4real: i am doing very well. Still in abuja. I trust you have been good. I am hearing a lot of talk on approval for government recruitment in many of the MDA's from next year. Honestly, nerc is not pulling it weight as empowered in its Act of establishment. And to think we have to fix power to get our economy moving. Why would a commission like nerc be without a substantive head for two years now? I wish those of us qualified and without "long legs" had gotten the job years back anyways. God bless our hustles.

Good 2 hear u r doing great. Am good too, still working with my COY. Was in Abuja last month for the Nigerian Society of Engineers' national conference & AGM. Spent few days & then back to my town. A top manager from NERC by name Engr. Wudil contested & won one of the three VP positions of the NSE. I had wanted to meet him & make enquiry of happenings in the commission but he was too busy so i couldnt. They are supposed to recruit this year but they didnt which i think it's because of the absence of a Chair. Though a friend of mine informed me that some few individuals have been recruited which i believe is true looking at the Nigerian factor. All the same we wait & see what happens next year.
