no bias here the argument for martins recall looks weak as the Eagles have achieved greater feats without him. simple

Failure to qualify for two Nations

Not everyone is desperate to play for the SE by hook or crook and pay for the privilege. And not everyone is prepared to condescend to paying bribe particularly when you know what your worth.

Martins had never needed the SE to promote and or further his football career like many others. Such as
Nwafor, Uchebo, Gabriel, Ameobi,
lol....Martins tge upstanding man of integrity grin

I think Onyekuru is playing on the LW and not the striking role.

Failure to qualify for two Nations
as if Martins would have make any difference....

common sense should tell you...that one of the reason we have failed to qualify for two Afcon....sentiments and corruption on the part of our indigenous coaches...

your Martins was a benefactor in one of the schemes...
when oliseh...seeks recruit his brother ex-academy players into the super eagles set up.....
him and Sylvester Igboun.... the latter even tried...scored a goal...but the other did nothing of good memory.

If not that I know this Obafemi Martins, when he was in his prime and now, I for think say na Messi/Neymar/Cr 7 equivalent. No doubts you are doing a good job with his hypes here.

You are doing wonders more than some Agents, you deserve a Pay for this, though an effort that will end in futility.

oh sani kaita is the one who will blame now, who are we going to blame for martins failing to deliver against teams like kenya and swaziland? sani keita too?
Our performance in that competition was overrated. Losing one man against Greece and the game went south. No game plan. We couldn't even win S. Korea to qualify. We may want to blame yakubu but the players weren't really impressive.

Of course, he would have.

Remember, in 2010 when the going got tough they had to recall the same regetted Martins whom dey excluded from the team due to politics to rescue them and he did exactly that.

Martins had singlehandedly qualified us for Nations cups and a world cup. Chain! grin

How is that an issue? Brain Idowo came through from the defence and did Argentina bad thing. Even small Ebuehi would would have gone home with an assist from the defence too.

Like I said earier, With all his hype here, I don't expect him to be average, We have enough average already. If we are going to get another average, it shoudn't be an old Martins but rather a young lad

thanks my brother....
I rather go wit an average young player like kayode than an old player....

the young player will go gather some experience and exposure that will some how prove useful in the future....

even at that there is possibility of the player going for another world cup in the future more better and stronger.....

La Liga is in my opinion the most technical but best is another matter.

La Liga is the best league in the world. When last did a non-la liga team win the champions league?

which world cup? grin trust me bruv personally I would have loved for martins to be in russia but on the bench to just come in occasionally but you know what, keeping an old player like martins on the bench as far as our Nigerian culture is concerned will breed problems for the team like we saw in the case of yobo in afcon 2013. [we had issues with the older players in 1998 world cup if you remember] I agree with Kogi45 who says enyeama and martins should be left out so as to keep the team unity. They are not bigger than Nigeria and they can't be missed that much. That's the fact and it's also time we look ahead with the younger folks we have now. Russia 2018 will not be the end of football. Martins has given his best and we do appreciate him for that.

My memory tells.me that Martins was not part of the nations cup qualifiers failures. Try harder next time.

Besides, he deserved his call as at then based on his exploit in MLS. Can you deny that proven fact?

Statistics that doesn't have his name on the score sheet undecided
Statistics that doesn't have his name for an assist as a striker is surely not the Statistics your Martins will be happy with.
