he cannot respond because he has no leg to stand on- not even a prosthetic one grin

I just checked the line-ups, Martins came on for Musa in the 75th minute. He played as a Forward, which means, oga dey near net for almost half an hour, but e no score

Funny enough, you know who scored that day even as a defender? Efe Ambrose grin

wasnt really buying the idea of a Martins comeback but the clips I am watching has changed my mind.Nigeria needs Martins badly. But we also need J.J Okocha to back-up Mikel in midfield. Also Michael Emenalo should be recalled to central defence. Samsion Siasia could add bite to our attack.
lastly, Peter Rufai should look for a club to gain form before the world cup.
Remember, form is temporary while class is permanent.
Best of luck Super Eagles

Then followed by a midfilder Moses Simon

In the first leg against Swaziland, the old Man played full 90 minutes and could not even prove anything in the goaless match againts ordinary Swaziland.

Rohr is out here looking for versatile players that can fit in at least three roles, but Oga forgivenesss wants him to take someone that can not even perform as a RWF.

So, if dem no put Martins as CF, nothing for the team? Some people no know say we no dey 1997 again, we need players that are in 2017 please, not all those old system players

with moses, mikel, iwobi, iheanacho and Ighalo, these folks have got lots of goals in them, rohr just need to ginger them to work together more as a team and we will be fine, gradually modern football has moved a bit from just having traditional cf, as the greatest players we've seen in recent times are not traditional cf in the mould of messi, cr7, neymar and co.

The best has not always been preferred in Nigeria national team.

Can you explain why Martins who was capped in 2004 has only 40 caps while Mikel and Ahmed who were capped in 2006 and 2010 has 82 and 63 caps.

Martins who was capped in 2004 has 40 capps and he is the 5th highest goal scorer with 18 goals for the national team. He is just behind Yakubu and Ike Uche who are the third and fourth with 21and 19 goals and had been capped more than him with 58 and 46 caps.

As you can see Martins statistics is better than the aforementioned players.

injury has been a major problem too for Martins.

But people wants us to believe Iheanacho is the best player in the national hence the team must be set up after his style. Abi you no know?

If you ask me to choose three goalkeepers now, I will not include Alampasu and Uzoho on my list. Gbam.

Dear ignorant Europeans and other white people,

Please, if you do not have full information on the status of African teams, kindly exclude us from your analysis.

These half-baked, ill-informed analysis is getting annoying to read.

If there is any part of the Nigerian team that is thin, it is certainly not the defence, which is brimming with a host of options. if we could, we would take 12 defenders to Russia....that is how ROBUST our defence is

I implore you press men and women of Britain and its environs who I once thought knew their onions, to please, make a balanced research of the African teams before these analysis, or keep our names out your write-ups.

Yours Gratefully,
Annoyed Nigerian cry
Did you consider the fact that our gk department is very thin and the gk department is part of the defence? Four- four - two is an excellent international football magazine and they've been in the business for long. Not saying that they are perfect but their articles are usually well informed. I personally enjoy reading them and recommend them to others.
The other article you were miffed about sometimes ago was written by an American for ESPN. Clearly the writer was not well informed about our team. Four - four - two is based in the UK and I think they have a fairly good knowledge about our team.

I think there's a misconception of the information regarding Maduka Okoye. He displayed a picture of himself and Agali. Also Rohr spoke about his desire to cap the young man but I have not read where this was connected to the WC but many here have fired shots at what they see as okoye being set up for the WC. I think this is unfounded. Okoye is not a WC prospect. He is just a gk Rohr wants to cap.

you're just a fan of four four two.

And I know the site very well, hence my addition that I assumed the Brits had better knowledge

If they want to say the goal keeping department, then they should be specific. I insist that our defense is not thin, even if the goalies were added to it.

After all there are three other parts of a defense and none of the players there are faltering, so why should the GK department automatically make the whole defense thin?

I can understand if they said "it has not been robust".... But outrightly calling an entire defence set up thin because of a shaky GK department? Fourfourtwo can do better

Rohr would invite him
He will not make the final squad

Sir Forgiveness and komekn would bring up conspiracy theories
Sir Mickael2 will discredit the teams achievement
I will be at home laughing at them
This is very likely to happen.

leave them now.

Anyway, I am used to this, four years ago Odemwingie was the player that fans and the press shoved down Keshi's throat, today it is Martins being forced down Rohr's coach

Funny enough, Keshi was supposed to be the egunje coach, but Martins couldn't raise enough money to force his way into his team. Shows how lowly Keshi though of him.

Na now with better players na im Martins wan come? May this campaign be unsuccessful.
Remember the cries for ike uche? When he was finally invited what did he do? What about Lukman Haruna? That one was so poor he couldn't even complete 1st half before he was subbed off.

The fans will always feel they're better players not invited. The grass is always greener at the other side, typical Nigerian mentality.

Of course, he would have.

Remember, in 2010 when the going got tough they had to recall the same regetted Martins whom dey excluded from the team due to politics to rescue them and he did exactly that.

Martins had singlehandedly qualified us for Nations cups and a world cup. Chain!
Did he play the game alone for you to say the bolded? It is such exaggerations as this that open players up for criticism. Same thing most here do with Iheanacho. If analysis is balanced and moderate it would rarely elicit attack unlike this widely exaggerated statement of yours.

Rohr – Super Eagles Door Still Open To New Players, Why I Want Osimhen In My Team
Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has overruled his chief scout Victor Agali who said the coach already knows the players he will be taking to the World Cup in Russia next year.
Appointed by Rohr to scout for new players ahead of Nigeria’s campaign at the World Cup, Agali said Rohr is not really searching for new players as he plans to build and prosecute the World Cup with the players presently in the team.
Agali made it known in a television programme in Lagos monitored by Owngoalnigeria.com, but Rohr has now revealed that the door is still open to new players , and also revealed why Wolfsburg Victor Osimhen is in his plans despite his lack of game time for his German side.
” We have friendly games lined up next year to try some new players in our team, and also give opportunity to some players who are with us but are yet to be tested.
“More players will come in. The likes of Victor Osimhen, young players, quick players. The door is still open. The list is not done yet. We have the possibility to get 30 players.” Rohr told

Such as

I'd make an example with Guadiola. Between Joe Hart and Claudio Bravo, who was the better keeper? Hart of course. Hart wasn't part of his team because Bravo was a ball playing GK whereas Hart wasn't.

Not all good players would fit into a coach's philosophy. Wasn't there the case of one Owubokiri who didn't get a chance with the eagles in the 90s despite his painting of Europe with goals?

If you're not a Ronaldo or Messi, I doubt any coach would like to build his team around you.

I would like that we always have those from the best teams and leagues to be in the team, truth is it can't always be like that, there'd be some flexibility at some point.

As it stands now, majority of the regulars in our team are products of the English system, which to you is quality. As for me i'm satisfied with that.
