Countries like Egypt and Morocco k Owston they are been surrounded by enemies , they don't joke with anything call defence of there territories.

Even if one day comes which I surely know it will come the money from uncle Sam stops, they would do anything to maintain there arsenal. Look at countries like Algeria and Morocco they don't have support like that of Egypt yet they have a very good military.

So with or without uncle Sam's support Egypt will still be the strongest and the most powerful country in Africa and in the middle east.
Its either the US holds their hands up or cuff them to the back. The day the US stops support for Egypt is the day they are ripe for dehorning/debeaking. Even Morocco enjoys support, only The Algerians have been able to pull it off alone

I think if they fall out right now, it's bad news for Egypt, but in the next five years or so, if won't matter because by then their economy should be fully back online. There has been serious leapfrogging for them in the last 2 years like overtaking Nigeria in foreign reserves and Algeria and SA in GDP, it might not be enough for procurement of more platforms but I think it should be enough to maintain the current ones.
I fear economics might not just cut it if any sudden shocks happen to Egypt. They could keep a paper strength only if things go hairy

@Odunayaw I totally disagree with you on these. EGYPT economy is not just a mere paper economy. They are waxing strong and stronger every day.

They know the value of industrialization and tourism, which they are really improving on, in the next 5 plus years Egypt economy will be competing with the middle East powers.

I was taking about paper strength of their military o not economy. Of course I keep tabs on their economy and if its as good as they say then they better continue the juju they are using grin

Am saying that, the Egyptians need a billion dollar economy to grow&flex those muscles on their own without foreign "hand me downs"

Without money from Saudi Arabia and the US, the Egyptian economy will not sustain their vast military.
Here's something from my Master's thesis which shows military expenditure from internal revenue for select countries in 2015.

When will the Nigerian military start dressing their troops properly when they are on combat operations? The only time they dress well is during a ceremonial duty

It is shameful really
Its becos u have not been in the field, when u are in the field of war, u will hardly think of what u are wearing.

I saw the increment in our foreign external reserve and I felt like removing just a billion USD alone and place orders for some flankers.

True talk.

Our military or system has these way of reacting only when needs arrive, we are not always prepared.

Doesn't work like that, external reserves are there in case of economic emergency like recession. Ours depleted because CBN kept using it to intervene in forex to keep naira strong.

NAF COMMISSIONS NEW HOSTEL AT AIR FORCE GIRLS COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL JOS, IMMORTALIZES VICTIM OF INSURGENCY

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on 5 December 2017, commissioned a new hostel accommodation for senior students of the Air Force Girls Comprehensive School (AFGCS) Jos to further enhance the existing conducive learning environment for the students. Also commissioned was a block of 30 x one bedroom fully furnished residential accommodation, which was named after NAF00/20247 Late Cpl Timon PM, who paid the supreme sacrifice on 27 July 2012 while fighting insurgency and terrorism as part of Operation ZAMAN LAFIYA. The newly commissioned girls’ hostel at AFGCS Jos is designed to accommodate a maximum of 64 final year students while the new residential block would accommodate 120 airmen/airwomen of 551 NAF Station Jos.

The Guest of Honour at the commissioning ceremony, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Right Honourable (Barrister) Simon Lalong, commissioned the two projects. He commended the consistency and painstaking efforts of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, in ensuring that all personnel of the NAF are decently accommodated. He also expressed his delight as he inspected the newly built girl’s hostel stating that “this is nothing but an enviable edifice any parent would want his or her daughter to live in”. The Governor added that the people of Plateau State would continue to be grateful to the NAF for its role in protecting lives and properties in the State. According to him, “The recent establishment of 205 Combat Search and Rescue Group and the pace of ongoing construction works at the site of the new unit in Kerang is an evidence of the sincere concern of the CAS for the security of lives in the State”.

Earlier in his remarks, the CAS noted that the completion of the two projects was another giant stride towards the accomplishment of NAF’s objective of improving the welfare of personnel for enhanced professionalism and service delivery. “It is also part of our deliberate effort at enhancing the quality of boarding facilities for the students’ in NAF schools with a view to creating a very conducive atmosphere for learning. Accordingly, the NAF maintains, as part of its policy thrust, a commitment to welfare and infrastructural development aimed at positioning its personnel for effective response to Service exigencies”, the CAS added. Air Marshal Abubakar also stated that, as a result of the aggressive infrastructural development in the NAF, over 75 per cent of its personnel are now accommodated in the barracks as against 45 per cent in July 2015. In addition, the CAS said that the ability to concentrate a larger number of the Service’s workforce in the barracks was a significant advantage in terms of response to emergencies, regimentation and esprit-de-corps among personnel. He therefore promised that the NAF would continue to place premium on addressing its infrastructural deficits with the objective of creating the enabling environment and motivation for effective and efficient operations by its personnel. The CAS had earlier on paid a courtesy call on Governor Lalong immediately after landing at the Jos Airport.

The ECA is supposedly under the full control of the president (though NASS are in the process of scrapping it) the president can use it for anything, but for some reason I don't know it's always been dormant even during the past administration which get me thinking maybe there are restrictions.
