Caveat: This is the longest Nairaland post you will ever read in your Life.
Me: We did. [i]I knew she was referring to the itemized billing with other stuff so proceeded to handover the thick stack of breakdown of all the expenses incurred (15k in total), letters of non-indebtedness from hospital, another from doctor, bills from all the service providers, every single receipt for payments made, itemized billing.

All the best to everyone still anticipating, congrats to everyone celebrating. Apologies if I wore you out with my lengthy

Wow! Congratulations!.... This is good news... and very encouraging.
Safe journey and safe delivery to wifey.....

No one gets one itemized bill. Remember you have to pay each service provider separately: Doctor, Oakbend, Brown and Associates, NICS, Anaesthetics, etc. Each of these guys would give you separate itemized billing of their charges.

Hope this clarifies

Clear now, thank you very much.

Pls house , need some clarification on these , I engaged two hospitals and below are excerpts from each
Hospital 1: “You are not required to pay for the acceptance letter but if you are requesting on be written for
any reason you will first make $200 non-refundable fee“
Hospital 2, after sending my requested status profile : “I have scheduled you to come see Dr ** on 21st may 2018 by 11am. Pls let me know if there’s anything else I can help with”
My question: do I need to pay a certain amount for an acceptance letter that I need to go to interview with or for Poe?
Does the response or correspondence from hospital suffice for what I need for interview and Poe

You will be spending thousands of dollars for the opportunity of your child having a dual-citizenship. You are risking an awful lot at your interview and your POE to save $200 or whatever the doctor is billing you for the letter.

I beg to differ. Its not a must to pay for doctors correspondence or letter of acceptance.

If the doctor or hospital you want to use charges for an official letter of acceptance, then there you go. However, I am sure there are lots of doctors and hospitals that allow correspondence without asking for fees.

What matters is a means of proving correspondence with a doctor and or hospital.
Bon chance

Hello supperdad, please what hospital is this?

thank you.

Back to the purpose of this thread grin grin grin

In the spirit of giving back (Don't you just love that line)

DW (& MIL) flew Qatar @ 33 weeks + 4 days with Medif (Submitted via their email 5 days before and approval confirmed on phone), Port Health & Doctor's Report.

The Flight was smooth all through but no hotel accommodation was given MIL for the 9 hour stopover in Doha...so both DW & MIL paid 50 USD each to get access into the lounge to eat, rest and shower there.

Fast forward to the Atlanta
POE experience....(Visa was B1/B2 that DW obtained for a vacation last year which DW & I went for...she wasn't pregnant at the time, and this was clearly stated at her visa interview)

DW - Hello...Good afternoon (handed over her passport as well as her mum's)

CBP - How are you today? Travelling together with your sister?

DW - No, she's my mum...

CBP - Really? She doesn't look old enough to be your mum...

DW - (chuckling) She's over 60...

CBP - what do you have there? (he noticed she was carrying a clear file)

DW - I'm actually here for childbirth so I brought along my correspondence with my doctor, the hospital and the US embassy as well as payment receipt(we had paid the hospital bill online)

CBP - Let me have them... (she handed them over to him and he started perusing them and got to the point where he saw that the actual hospital bill was $14400 but that she was entitled to a 75% discount if we paid at once bringing my bill down to $3600...)
So how much exactly are you paying?

DW: $3600...since I made the payment at once, I got the discount...

CBP - is there any other payment yet to be made?

DW- yes, my doctors fee which is to be made at my first appointment is well as the payment for the labs and paediatrician...

CBP - How do you plan to pay those bills?

DW - I have cash with me as well as my cards

CBP - How much do you have with you?

DW - $ 9350

CBP - Got that right there with you?

DW - Yes (she immediately started making moves to bring out the cash from her handbag but he said she shouldn’t bother)

CBP- Where would you be staying?

DW - With my husband's uncle and his family...

CBP - So when is your due date?

DW - Dec. 20

CBP - Oh really?! My son was also due on Dec. 20 but came on the 15th...

DW - Wow... I won't mind that as well (she also desires 15th actually)

CBP - So how long are you staying?

DW - 3 months.. To return January ending

CBP - Really?! If I were you, I would stay much longer... (Trick Question? Who knows)

DW - I have to get back to work and my airline allows babies that young fly...

CBP - For me, it doesn't matter what the doctor, the airline or work says... I would stay as long as I want....
So I'm giving you till May just in case you want to stay longer (so he stamped her passport and gave her the usual 6months permit...he stamped same for her mum).

DW - Thank you so much though I won't be staying that long...

CBP - Do have a good day...

DW - You too... Thank you so much

Off to Agric
Her beans were put in some kind of sieve only for one miserable dead weevil to show up o...hence it was seized.
Kolanuts for a relation were allowed but every nut was cracked open o.
All others were allowed (Egusi, Dry Fish, Elubo etc lol - all labelled and in separate nylon packs)

DW & MIL are now chilling and counting down.

Praise God! ...and immeasurable thanks to all who have contributed to this platform, making it what it is.

In the spirit of giving back.

I flew Qatar to Houston 2 days ago at 34+6 days. submitted MediF form, Medical certificate 7 days before departure. Got approval after following up via twitter and phone calls 2 days to depature.

At the Lagos airport, I was directed to Port authority ( They measured and wrote I am 30 weeks grin). Photocopied my Doctors fit to fly and Port authority certificate and submitted and was allowed to fly. Flight was more that smooth to Doha. Complimentary accommodation was issued.
Connected Houston the next morning. When i was being checked to board houston, I was asked the purpose of my journey to US, I responded that I am currently pregnant and was going to birth in the US. The guy asked again Who is pregnant?? but you dont look it? I responded that I am currently pregnant, so he took my passport and directed me to a US immigration man. He inquired whether i told the Visa officer about my intention. I told him that it was drop box but i opted in for B2/medical detailing the hospital I planned using, the doctor and the contact. He asked me whether i know i am not entitle to state fund - yes i do and that is why I am having more than $10,000 and additional ones in my mastercard in case of any surprise payment. He evn asked e whether I am expecting a boy or a girl, then the name of the child shocked He later cleared me and off I boarded.

3:50pm we arrived houston. Que was a bit long.

CBP: What are you here for?
Me: For childbirth
CBP: Youre pregnant?
Me: Yes and 35 weeks gone already
CBP: place your finger here.
CPB: Anything to declare.
Me: yes oo...Got blended Ogbono, Crayfish, Dry fish, Uziza, Udah, Utazi, Know beef etc...one minute, I got the list here. I brought out the list of what i a bringing in and the Oyibo collected the list and documented everything asking me the usage especially the local herbs. In addition I declared i have more than $10,000 ($14,000). The guy stamped me in for 6 months and i was directed to custom to fill a form. Then to Agric- Nothing was checked nor ceased. It was like a dream that when i was led to the exit, I had to inform them that Money has not been counted and my bag was not checked..They said, I am ok that i am cleared and can go.

Houston POE was indeed a breeze. Everything took less that 5 mins. Chiling and waiting for my LO and my first appointment with Dr Fagbohun.

Thanks everyone for your guidance.

Hello all,
Saw an ad from wakanow on Delta promo to Houston for 283k. I have been trying to book but getting outrageous figures. Anyone in the house that can put me through will be appreciated. Also am interested in the flying period. Thanks and nice night.

I have tried booking from Delta airline site but it says to caal their reservation as unable to book flights originating from lagos and abuja.

Please Have you sorted yours out now?
How did you do it?

I am assuming you have already submitted the application, Just let it be. The only issue I see there is that your sister that is traveling with her whole family should have a good burden of proof to show at POE that they plan to come back home after birthing.

She had her first in the USA and they all returned now the second. She has sufficient burden of proof. I will be traveling with my mum. My concern is with the fact i put in all of us in d list since we will all end up in one house.

If you go through this thread very well you can do it yourself. By the way you need to apply ASAP. Your Edd is very close.
Important info is the type of visa, contact address and where you will stay. You can put your bof together before the interview.
