I don’t know the current I-20 format. But I remembered when I got to POE without signing my I-20, the officer was like sign here and I said alright I didn’t know he was like haha that’s fine that’s not a problem. So I don’t think that should be a problem but read the I-20 and sign what have to be signed if you ain’t sure don’t bother you can sign that anytime in as much as it’s your I-20 and it is not required to be submitted. If that makes sense.
alright, gracies

Good day everyone

There is something am concern about

I applied for student visa in US embassy 2011 and was denied due to falsification of bank statement.. I was naive and ignorant then, my travel agent was responsible for everything.. of cause i was banned

I am presently living in Sweden as a student and i want to visit my brother in Canada from here..

My concern is, since i had issues with US embassy.. will it give me problem in Canadian embassy here in Stockholm when applying for their visiting visa?

Hi, I just tried to book an appointment for a u.s visa interview and the earliest date I could see was January 22 which is far off from my resumption date which is January 8. Please what's the solution to this??
Can I book an expedited interview OR can I get 3 weeks extension letter from my school?

You can book for expedited interview if you have your evidence. Like providing your i20 as evidence

You missed the point completely... and i would daresay partly because of the typical Nigerian mentality that sees precious little wrong with "some" fraud here and there... anything to grease the skids.

There are two issues:
1. Naivety and ignorance in thinking that it is ok to let an agent fill your visa application for you. That the OP admitted to.
2. Wilful attempt to commit fraud by knowingly going with a form filled with false information and attempting to obtain a visa based on this information. That is the big issue and that is one the OP does not seem to have learned from.

On page 3 of the Canadian application for a visiting visa, you are asked if you have ever been refused a visa to any country... and also requested to provide the details. Obviously the OP will have to indicate that he has been banned from obtaining a US visa for misrepresentation... your guess is as good as mine what the outcome will be.

Until we get to a point in Nigeria where we have zero tolerance to fraud of any kind, Libya, slavery and poverty is all we have to look forward to.

Character is not allowing conditions to bend the crayfish, regardless. I do agree with you that an unsettlingly large number of Nigerians lack moral fiber, even though we are the most religious people on earth.

How do you intend to answer the question about if you have ever been refused a visa to any other country before? If you answer yes to that question, you are also asked to provide details. What do you intend to say?

Well I don’t know about any other country, but USA and Canada works hand in hand together like literally they collaborate together. Meaning it’s easier for US Embassy to know if you have had any issue with Canadian Embassy and vice versa.

Don’t ask me how I know pls cuz I know people with first hand experiences

Having successfully finished exams with a good mood and celebrating my senior Nigerian colleagues who are graduating this semester, I want to use this medium to wish all prospective genuine students all the best in their exams and also prospective student visa applicants all the best in their newly found path.

By the way justwise I need a new moniker to my current moniker. Having maintaining a GPA of 4.00, I have been trying to change my moniker to Mr4.00GPA to no avail. If Seun would hire me to help him make some modifications to NL System, I could have members have access to edit monikers. grin #JustKidding

That will not be a problem, but the reason for the refusal may/may not be a problem. The most important thing here is that you have nothing to hide.

The minute you explain to them that you were banned for misrepresentation, they will most likely refuse you. Be prepared.

@bolded , mehn that’s one madass crime as far as US Embassy is concerned. They barely forgive anything that has to do with fraudulent. You need to identify the kind of ban you were given maybe it’s a 10years or lifeban. If it’s a 10year Ban, then done bother applying until after 2021 cuz you’ll only be giving them 64k for fun and if it’s a lifetime ban, you probably ain’t gonna see what America is like in this lifetime of yours. Whichever it is, I really wish you all the best bro. undecided

How does an applicant know that he or she is banned from entering US? Will it be indicated in the denial form or how precisely?
