So we made it to FTC on a Monday morning.... I dedicate this wonderful position to pastor Paul Adeferasin...The hustle for tithe is real "God created the universe and a tithe, the Galaxies..." More tithe to your coffers my brother.

Just leave this clowns. There are verses that reiterate the giving of tithes to widows, levites orphans and strangers in the land so they may have enough to eat. This means that the tithe is not even supposed to go to rich orphans and widows or the ones that are doing well. Some dumb pastors will tell me that they are modern day levites. In what context? Levites are descendants of Levi and they were permitted to partake in the tithe because they had no inheritance of their own and nothing to their name. Nigerian pastors are not descendants of Levi neither do they have not inheritance. You always hear them being millionaires and shit.
This days it's OK to twist the Bible to fit in one's situation. That is why the church tycoons use that verse from Malachi that talks about bringing tithes to God's store house so I ask them. Do these church buildings look like store houses to you? And if you say we should take tithes to church, are you insinuating that pastors are God? Meanwhile see what a storehouse look like. If you pay close attention, you will notice that there's always no pulpit or chairs in them.

PS: For some strange reason, Malachi 3:10 has suddenly become the most important verse in the Bible. Even more important than John 3:16 and Matthew 21:22

More grace to your home. You are on point here.
Nigerian pastors have turned Christianity to pure business entity.

ilI like freeze for one thing : He reads the bible or he has someone who reads the bible and interprets to him but either way he should be appreciated for pointing out the thorns in the body of Christ(the church), but he is what I will like to call a sophist, if u read the open heavens of December 3 pastor adeboye never said tithing was compulsory and the fact that he said God told him tithing was right doesn't call for alarm because I wonder if God can't speak to his people again . Dr dk olukoya said the same thing and so did bishop David oyedepo. and yes Christians need to start reading their Bibles.

To be a follower of Christ and living "Christ -Minded" should be the ultimate goal of every Christian.

The Nigerian Pentecostal church, even some Orthodox Churches have joined this shameful bandwagon, has so much placed money way above salvation that it scares.

Blessings are bought, you can't be prayed for except you pay heavily, the quality of prayers made are relative to quantity of cash dropped.

I weep to religion. I can never be religious. I am a Christian the two are not the same

First of all no Pastor is being threatened by freeze or whatever you call him. Some of them are just alarmed by his effrontery.
You need to get something straight no matter what you do you can't stop the core rccg, winners, Deeperlife or mfm members from paying tithes. Perhaps the only ppl you would convince are ppl who never paid before.
And I would say this, whether Christians pay tithe or not is entirely up to pastors to decide.

When Jesus left the Earth he gave the church two things
1) The Holy Spirit
2) Men of God(Church leaders)

He did this because he believed the Church would be fine as long as the Hierarchy in Church holds. This goes in line with how God establishes institutions. When he created the family he made the man the head and when man said that structure wasn't in line with modernity they began to do it their own way and today America has a 50% divorce rate.

Back to Churches. Whenever there was dispute in the Early Church the Jewish Christians, Macedonian Christians, Corithian Christians, Thessalonians all wrote to the Church for Doctrinal Guidance and Church responded with scriptural(old testament) references. They sought for the leadership of the Apostles even though they had access to the same Old Testament that Paul Used to prove the instructions of the Church. They knew it was important to achieve oneness in the body of Christ so they had to submit to the leadership of the Church in Humility.

The time when Church members tried to school the Apostles it led to an error of Peter and resulted in Paul having to openly rebuke Peter.
At a time Paul was so pressured by some of these know it all Christians that he had to carry out

you are always on point. I like your personality and comments. I will love to be your friend outside nairaland. You and thevictorious always on point.

Over 1 million Americans are in Mental institutions because of addiction to Alcohol. The prison system is getting more saturated. And all these can be traced to a broken families.
That we are debating about paying or not of thite today is because of the way our Church leaders have turned Christianity into pure business organization.
The missionaries that brought Christianity into Africa did it for humanity even though it's also involved them taking our resources.
But today's indigenous Pastor are passionate about their relationship with money than humans.
It's high time we all call for a real revival in the body of Christ and let salvation of soul, taking care of our society poor be of utmost importance to the church.
Tithe is designed for the needy. But what we have nowadays are pastors living big and pulling big business with tithes money to the detriment of the original beneficiaries.

Daddy Freeze has enlightened the minds of THOSE WHO DONT READ THEIR BIBLE.. Notice the category of Daddy Freeze supporters.. Unspiritual men who lack the spirit of discernation to know that Daddy Freeze is inspired by the devil not God to disintegrate the Church... Unfortunately the Devil came too late

Hebrews 7: 5-25 and Gal 3:23 &24 clearly shows that Christians are not under the tithe law. Have you asked your self why neither Christ nor his followers preached nor paid tithe? Have you also observed that Tithing is even against the spirit of Christian giving as outlined @2 Cor 9:7 "Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver" Does it not border you that our men of god do not preach other laws like Sabbath which carries a death penalty? Numbers 15: 34-35? Who are the oppressive wolves who are to come after the apostles and will not spare the flock Acts 20: 29& 30?

These Nigeria gods of men are devilish, they might kill freeze.
These men are worse desperadoes than politicians and are more satanic.
Anyway if they kill freeze and try to tell us how it was God that killed him because he spoke against tithe,it may backfire and make freeze a martyr which will cause the ultimate doom for the gods of men.

I thought that in the ancient times, tithe could refer to what u produce or have so why is it these businessmen cannot accept a tenths of the harvest of farmers, a tenths of fishes from fishermen why is it always money, cars, houses, jets and other luxuries which cannot be shared amongst the less fortunate of the members. I went to a Pentecostal christian school and I can tell u I hate the hypocrisy spewed by this churches, every term school fees was increased by at least a quarter of its previous price. I started at 14k and by the time I was through fees was around 150k now the fees nor be here, but this church was collecting offering and donations every Sunday for the upkeep of this school and as at the time I left teachers were earning pittance to the point that my dad was always giving them a ride, because of this they could not train the students well. i also remember seeing a ' man of God's house' the land it was situated on was so large and many members of his church were homeless or tenants, this was a man who always preached about the beauty of heaven what was stopping him from building blocks of flats for his less privileged members instead of a mansion for himself since has said he will have a mansion of his own in heaven. I also recall in 2002 when my mother, cousin and I were going to a crusade along Lagos Ibadan express road. our bus broke down at about 9pm on the highway and about an hour later the pastor who all of us in the bus were going to his crusade drove pass us with his fine white car and a host of mobile police men we were flagging him down because of water to put in the radiator of the bus. he just drove pass us and was telling us he will see us at the crusade. God finally helped us from there to the crusade ground and that man was preaching about the good Samaritan on the pulpit, I just felt like tearing him a very, very hot slap. this was the man who could not help a bus filled with women and children on the high way. this was just coming few months after a traumatic experience where armed robbers broke into our house and almost killed my dad and i, my mum was lucky to escape because of how cunning my father was, he told them he had more money upstairs but the tenants had locked the entrance so they should boost my mum up so she could open the door through the other entrance. my mom escaped to the nearby church and asked for the pastor to please go and call the police. can u imagine that the idiot started pretending as if holy ghost was ministering to him. my mom said anytime she opened her mouth to ask for help they would start shouting in tongues. it was a Muslim man and a woman who they all said was an idol worshippers who called the police and saved our lives. most of those so called men of God would not see heaven as they are so callous and wicked

The day I wept in church was the day of our past General harvest. The guest speaker after speaking so much about giving said God revealed to him that 15 persons will give 1million naira and that he should pray in tongues for them. Funny enough not even one person came out.

He vibrated for about 20 minutes claiming ten fold blessings for those who will respond, no who get that kind money?

Next he called for 100k, nothing. Then 50k, which about 5 persons came.
What he did next was beyound funny. After speaking in tongues for them for like 10 minutes calling heaven to bless the givers in 24 hours, he now turned to us the congregation and commanded we pray for the givers. Jesus . . . I wept.

We that don't deserve the blessing na.

The church is becoming ridiculed by these money agents. Blessings can't be bought, salvation is free. Serve God not man.

Besides I am an Anglican, it's creeping everywhere

The purpose of the Church is to make money and live large. Apostle Paul under inspiration @ Acts 20: 29 & 30 referred to today's pastors as "Ravenous Wolves" who will not spare the flock

How many real men of God do we even have!
Its time christians dig into the bible for direction. What l found funny is how christians swallow every bit that comes from mouth of pastor because he's their daddy in the Lord. Bible say test all spirit. Bible says not everybody that call me Lord will enter into my kingdom. In the bible, l have not read where Husband is pastor, the wife automatically becomes pastor Mrs and children too pastors.
The question we should ask ourselves is will Jesus do this.
Something we should know is that, Gods grace and gift is not revoked (bible). So your pastor could be misbehaving and still be performing miracles. So double check whatever your pastor says in the bible.
As for Tithe, study different books of the bible (not just one part).
Shallom.

The truth remains that every Bible Believing Christian ought to pay tithe.

Whatever the pastors do with it is between them and God....nothing more nothing less
