Players are not only bought for first team spots alone, players are also bought to be backups. Cesc and Hleb were bought to be backups. Cesc as a long term Xavi replacement but Xavi didnt wane in powers and Cesc became impatient same thing with Thiago

I have been a Bayern fan for over 20yrs when no one knew about the EPL.

I have also supported Ajax at some time in the mid 90s because of the Nigerian guys especially Kanu who is my best Nigerian player ever,

Juventus from around 1990s to 93 because that was all I knew then since the person who introduced me to European football was a Juve fan

and Bayern because I liked what I saw on TV then in the days of football made in Germany. After Kanu left Ajax, Bayern became my only team
