I bet you many Nigerians that voted, voted multiple times. And they would have found out although not all the time. What is my proof?
Na our way.

And you feel that made Victor Moses deserve the award?

Forget patriotism Mohammed Salah deserved the award.

What is it with this Nigeria's obsession with England? If we are playing Croatia, Iceland, and Argentina then we should be thinking about playing friendly games against countries like: Serbia, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Uruguay, and Brazil.

O pari

I think the word obsession can not be used here. That's just so far away from reality, don't know how you got it.

The last time we played England was in 1994 over 23 years ago. How many irrelevant friendlies have we played with Jamaica and Ghana.

Considering that outside of Nigeria the highest concentration of Nigerians is in the UK. It makes real sense a game in London or Manchester will be like a home game.

But apart from emotive sentiment it is very good preparation for the SE to see how far we have gone with our preparations for Russia 2018.

I rather play Peru than Egypt, makes no sense.

There are news from reliable sources that the NFF are planning a friendly match against Egypt.

I personally like the Egypt friendly...
Egypt is a ball playing side and their pattern is same as that of other European teams like Spain,Germany etc...

I think to play the best team in Africa currently is a welcome development for me...

And also the decision to play the match at Abuja is a top notch decision I applaud..
It's been long we played a match at the most expensive stadium in Nigeria. ..and I would like to see what the arena and atmosphere has to offer...

Good one by the nff committee. . cool

.The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play Egypt and two other countries in preparations ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The friendly matches will be played between January and May next year, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has said.

The Secretary General of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Muhammed Sanusi, revealed this while speaking on the sidelines of NFF’s 2018 budget defence with the House of Representatives Committee on Sports.

He said, although no final decision has been reached, the three friendly matches would be played in Abuja before the World Cup to be hosted by Russia in June.

He said, “We’re looking at three countries. We want to play in Abuja. We haven’t finalized, but Egypt is one of them.”

On inviting additional players to join the Eagles, Sanusi said, “We always allow the coach to do that. We don’t have a hand in the selection of players. It’s up to the coach to bring in the players he wants to bring.”

The committee, chaired by Goni Lawan Bukar (APC, Yobe) had earlier commended the NFF leadership under its president, Amanju Pinnick for bringing sanity to the Nigerian football.

The committee said though it was yet to get the details of the 2018 NFF proposal, it would give it much priority and make adequate allocations for the federation to succeed in its programmes.

What is the benefit of playing Egypt to our WC campaign??

What tactical lessons can we learn from playing Egypt? I mean lessons that will help us with our opponents?

Really pleased with the fact that Balogun has started playing regularly. He needs the sharpness.

Sarenren-bazee on the bench again, hopefully he plays some minutes to mark his full return. We need to see him in the March friendlies.

Ogbeche continues his scoring form. 8 goals in 7 games

That's not the point. My point is that friendly match against England at this time doesn't serve us well. None of the teams we're facing in Russia plays similar style with England. We should be scheduling friendly matches against teams that are similar in style to Croatia, Iceland, and Argentina.

I think the NFF is not serious wit sourcing friendlies for he super eagles at all....
what's our business playing Egypt? for goodness sake we just played Algeria...

other countries are playing 2 friendlies in the month of March and here we are comfortable playing only Poland...

It makes no sense in the context of our group opponents to play England. Moreover June is kinda close to the WC. Make I no hear say one player was injured in that match oo.

Again, that's not my point. I don't have any problem playing England but a friendly against England right now isn't gonna do much to help our preparations.

The last time I checked, the population of Nigeria is over 3 times that of Egypt. And if you're to count only soccer loving people, you'd realize that we have about 10x more soccer loving people in Nigeria compared to Egypt. Hence, if it were so, I don't see how Mo Sallah can beat VicMo in such a popularity contest.

KPOM!

It's even affecting our players. Most of them are obsessed with playing in the EPL even when they can develop better in countries like Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and the Netherlands.

Is the Poland friendly confirmed yet? Well, I feel that playing countries like Serbia, Belgium, Demark, Sweden, even Switzerland can prepare us better against countries like Croatia and Iceland.

I don't like England grin

Nothing wrong with the England friendly bro.

At least we have secured Poland for Croatia.
And we have already played Argentina for Argentina (no preparation pass that one).

I understand the England friendly is in June so we still have one slot for friendly in March yet to be secured.

Salah is the better player for 2017 calendar year IMO.

That's my sentiments, exactly!

We need to play teams that are well organized (similar style to our opponents - Iceland and Croatia) ... countries like: Denmark, Sweden, Serbia etc. I feel that this England game would expose us and lay us bare to our opponents. And you can bet that Croatia and Iceland would be watching.

Hahaha go back and check again.

Nigeria's population is just about twice that of Egypt.

And it may interest you to know that of the soccer loving people of Nigeria not up to 20% care about the national team and players. They only care when we are playing well in the World Cup. That is why safarigirl coined a name for them: "plastic fans".

Go to Egypt, I don't think up to 5% of their football loving population care about European football. They may just only watch their players who are based in Europe. What they care mostly about are the Pharaohs, Zamalek, Al- Ahli, Ismaili, and the likes.

If you think some of our Nigerian fans can vote a 100 times expect so or even more from those fanatic Egyptian fans. Mohamed Salah is like a god in Egypt.

And by the way, shebi dem tok say that winning silverware is the ultimate decider? So what silverware(s) did Mo Salah win last season to give advantage? Or does "winning silverwares" only counts when it comes to Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo?

How many of these people were even aware of the vote? Of those aware, how many bothered to vote? Of those who voted, how many voted for Moses?

If it is by population alone, we will win but there are other factors at play and Egyptians are more passionate about their players and team.

Bro, are you on twitter and Facebook? Because there was an all out campaign for VicMo on both websites. gosh, even the Chelsea twitter account was promoting VicMo and urging people to vote for him. The NFF, many Super Eagles players on twitter, and even the NFF sef.

I honestly thought that VicMo had it in the bag.
