Hi guys, how sure is the mastercard foundation scholarship for Michigan State University for a Nigerian with a high GPA(3.8/4.0) and GRE of 312? Please I need suggestion based on past record of awardees.

Do you have a really compelling story?

Something in the lines of growing up in extreme poverty?

Are you with education USA?

If you don't meet the criteria above, it is recommended you swerve to avoid stories that touch.

H guys, please what does it mean if a prof replies with this message in the image below. Is it a green light or what? my head is not booting at all.

It is definitely not a red light. But nothing is set in stone.

Nothing is free in FreeTown.

What schools have you looked at? What is your shortlist like?

See if you can compare schools similar to Cleveland State. They might have funding like CAU did last fall for EE students.
I already have University of Tulsa on my shortlist, University of Virginia, Texas Tech University & Louisiana University Lafayette.

Autocorrect. Meant to type CSU.

UVA Charlottesville is ambitious.
Lafayette is ok. Funding might come next semester.
Texas Tech can work but funding is dicey for first semester as well.

M.S funding is very very hard and you do not have the profile for PhD in the schools above.

Use startclass.com to see schools similar to Cleveland State as it might help. If you can pay for your first semester that too might help.

Have you looked at Montana University?

Are you looking for a scholarship? Are you in contact with any POI in your prospective schools?

If not, I think you should retake it because, compositely, your score might be deemed unworkable by many schools.

But if you are going to fund yourself and you have good GPA then use msinus.com to check the B- and C+ schools. Some B+ schools as well.

But if you are fully-depending on scholarships, aim for fall 2019 and take your time to ace the GRE. Although your field is quants-based, a weak V like that is a red flag. Seriously.

Look for another recommender. The letter-headed paper gives the letter a more formal feel which can sway adcoms.

If he is this protective of the company's letter head then he probably will not recommend you well.

PS: some schools do not mind. So if this one does not mind, then still use him.

Thanks bro.

AM sure he would recommend me well, He is just not open to using his company letter head letter.

I already shopping for another recommender who would use is official handle instead of the regular mail address.

Thanks again

How is it going boss??

Ask WalSpring etc

Or just pay it with a MasterCard/visa since you want it done ASAP.

Banks charge N367 to a dollar.

Hi!

That's not bad. Depending on your stats, and where you're applying. If, however, your mind is set on retaking the test, you should dig deep into what went 'wrong' the first time. Then you can fix your weaknesses with on the second attempt.

Cheers.

Don’t follow the way of sirriddy. Nigga is just overhyped on Nairaland. We in Kansas State University don’t even recognize him. Nigga can’t even pass an Advanced Java Application Development course. So just follow your own path. Study hard for GRE and as for your GPA, you’ll still exceed the cut off line of 3.0 after evaluation.

PS: I hope ruddy don’t quote me or I’ll rain fire and fury on him like NL has never seen before. angry

I wrote my GRE today & it was below par.
I prepared majorly for the verbal & AWA section as I was confident in my quant.
My score -V150 Q167
I even had a better powerprep verbal score of 156. I just couldn't concentrate on my RCs. It was painful sha.
Now focusing on other parts of the application process.

Congrats bro
I've pm you.thanks.

Hmmm.

Contact ponpon.

Be careful with centers and prices attached to them. You don't want to be ban and considered persona non-grata by ETS.
bro please explain

Stop looking for agents with a price range. Look for renowned agents first and see if their price works for you. BY MAFIT charge N50k and ponpon charges N45k. Both are trusted.

You might see someone who may tell you N38k but use a stolen credit card to pay for it. Few months down the line, ETS could discover it and terminate your scores (alerting your schools while at it) and even bar you from using your full name to partake in their tests for a while.

Hi y'all. How are our applications coming? Good I hope. Please can someone suggest "safe" schools one can apply to for MS in power and energy systems suited for the profile below:
3.64/4.00 CGPA
163Q 158V 4AWA GRE
104 TOEFL

I now realize i have to spread my risk as i have been too ambitious in my pursuits.

1. I can craft a compelling story from my past experience.
2. lols, an average Nigerian is less privileged thus, I can still say something
3. I applied earlier this year but wasn't picked, my current location being a factor.

I shouldn't waste my few bucks on the school. The scholarship actually attracted me to it. Thanks boss
