There is no home insurance when you are renting, there is however something called "contents insurance" that is offered by insurance companies and most banks based on the type of account that you have with them.

I am also not certain that home insurance covers the contents, home insurance l believe covers the structure and any structural damage that might affect it.

Wow. It's been one he'll of a ride, the plannine et al. E no easy. Will be giving a summary of my experience from flight experience landing and all in the following posts.

As usual in this winter time for money I booked medview airline due to obvious reason like short period of flight and ofcourse affordable.

Review of the flight:
A. Changes was communicated early via mail from 1.30pm to 11.30am cos of winter, only for us to check in and all and we didn't take off until 1.15pm. Rightly pissed off

B. No bassinet for baby, infact no provisions at all the hostess had to ask me if they knew I was bringing a bay on board after I was charged for him. Mscheww

C. In flight entertainment and charging port made the trip easy but not much movies at least let's manage them for now. They are getting dre.

D. Food was alright got jollof rice, chicken, bread, tea, juice etc and even gave us another pack for snacks close to the end of the trip.

E. Smooth flight and good landing overall I will rate dem 60 taking into consideration d hours and money.


Tips:
1. Always book ur flight early to avoid high cost it's not going to be cheaper
2. Prepare your documents well and know ur rights and what you need on any particular trip. one lady at d check in counter wanted to collect bribe because I have a different surname from my baby and thought I won't have the birth certificate handy
3. Prepare for d cold by getting stuffs from naija well well or else d cold will grab u in ways u never experred.

Another Tip for picking up BRP,

If you have a minor and your name isnt on the vignette provided, you will need to be nominated to pick up via email.

However, if its a family pick up that wont be necessary.
Though I applied for mine and it was approved after 5 days, but on getting there I learnt it was not necessary.

P.S the BRP now comes with the NI number so no need to apply again. Thats what is called constant review of processes. (Its still shacking me ni

Never heard of them. Have you tried Lloyds or TSB? I have a free classic current account with TSB (since my student days as part of Lloyds group). I am nt sure if they still do that as they have been asking me to change to one which I'd pay £9.99 a month with free travel insurance and all that. I no gree When I am ready I might consider it.

I remember I had issues with opening my student bank account because I hadn't gotten a hostel space yet.
I've never heard about Monese, but lol...I'm not ready to pay monthly fees to any bank biko. I'm still using the banks I used as a student.
I heard Santander is quite good. I've been told several times, but I've never used them.

Can't you just hold/hide your money until you confirm your accommodation?

Something funny I just remembered:

Lagos airport the guy at the counter helped with my box for it to be weighed and tagged and actually asked for tips and told him I didn't have change. He even went further to offer to fill my immigration card and I was like durrrh... no be my details u wan put there.

Immediately the guy saw me with a baby strapped on and luggage he told me to wait once the train comes for him to help me on the train then the amazing thing happened, as I disembarked the train another security guy approached me that he was notified that I would be needing assistance from the other station.

I was shook . Just kept saying thank you and at a point I was sounding odd

Both are being paid but one doesn't ask for bribe to render assistance.

There is nothing better than a high street bank where you can go in and meet someone to speak to. Most of these banks or apps can cost a fortune to run. There is also "pockit" which you can try as they are good and you only pay for transfers. So you can use them while you wait for your bill to come through if you are urgently in need of an account.
