If your mind is at peace, all the best. I have major problems with religions too but I find contentment in God. Yes I practice d religion I was born into, there was no need to trade one for the other. It's just one way of communicating with God.

My both parents were born into a Muslim polygamous family, grew up as Muslims but while they were in school during those days they were persecuted by Christians, denied of all fundamental human rights. There were times they were not allowed to go home for Muslim festivals, they catch you praying in school you're done. They even humiliated them and allowed Christians to teach them Islamic Religious knowledge. Forced to memorize the Bible in sine instances. All this later got to them so when they married they converted to Christianity. Things became so hard economically they had no choice, Christians controlled everywhere, and they were not merciful to non- Christians. Soon enough dad opted out of government job to establish his own business so he changed back to Islam, mum remained in government job so she remained a Christian. But to the Glory of the Almighty today we the children are all Muslims and happy.
"Verily the unbelievers wish to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths but Allah has perfected his light even though the disbelievers do not like it".

I agree with you but you must admit, the religion of Islam has kind of owned this attributes more than any religion in the world right now. In fact, it's become it's identity.

Again, I agree with you Islam gives equal opportunities to all, it's afterall a welfare religion but Muslims have found a way to deny the female folks this opportunity. It's a shame. Islam if genuinely and reasonably applied has the capacity to truly become the light of the world.

My Father was born into a polygamous islamic family of seven wives(Islam limits to 4 wives but some Yoruba men exceed that number). He grew to loath polygamy due to the many family problems he faced. This made him and his siblings particularly not rooted or interested in Islam either. He ended up marrying the daughter of an Anglican Clergy and it was just so easy to flip him to Christianity. Considering that his own mother was a Catholic from Delta who converted to Islam to marry his Dad as third wife in Oyo State, there was particularly no strong family resistance for him to marry a Christian.

Three of his four Siblings also converted to Christianity mostly by marital influence while one remains a Muslim till today.

While my father is not a fan of religion in general. His decision to change to Christianity altered the course of the family's religion.

My dad fought with my mom, he locks me up, he shouts on me, all Kain yawa sha. Around 2015 I got seriously ill that it almost took my life, my doctor was an MFM pastor, he found out that I'm a christian while my dad isn't. I dunno what conversation he had with my dad, I sha know that ever since that incident, my dad has freed me. I attended Shiloh program this year without sleeping at home for almost a week, in fact sef, when I got home, he asked about the program and everything. The man cooked for me sef.

I see. I am for Laissez Faire as well but truthfully, there are times one would have done some terrible things whether as a result of certain circumstances but for God, we decide to rethink and let go. Now if we didn't even believe in that God, what's to stop us?

When you hit rock bottom, having God to cry to sure is the best medicine. I don't know how atheists do it. Respect tho to the sane ones.

of course there. there are Christians who convert to Islam and there are so called Muslims who converted to Christianity. one thing i noticed is that; those Christians who embrace Islam are the quite religious, or the truth-searching and highly pious of them. but on the other hand, the Muslims who converted to Christianity are those you could never call Muslims in the first place.
my uncle converted to Christianity but he told me he had never ever gone to the mosque nor pray a single solat in his entire life. they only named his an Islamic name.

Have you asked yourself why most crimes committed in the world from the old era till date has been carried out by religious people of all faiths?

I grew up with my mother so indirectly I was a Christian but had a Muslim name. I started reading both religious holy book and found out they’re don’t make sense with a lot of scientific errors in them. So I started to question my belief, I was an agnostic at that point

Until I started asking my father some questions about religion but he couldn’t answer. So I became an atheist

About all the biggest yoruba pastors were born into Muslim families. Islam suffers in yoruba land too as a result of the educational gap between Christians and Muslims which also leads to income gap. This has built in an inferiority complex amongst yoruba Muslims.

As such gone are the yoruba Muslim names of old. Nobody names their children Salawa Momudatu Mutiu Nurudeen anymore. They've been substituted by Seun Abike mclatunji etc so as to move away from the stigma of Islam.

In Auchi just like Sierra Leone most of the Momohs are now Christians. There you will find Reverend Mohammed Pastor Abdulahi and of courses Prophet Sulaiman. Their Aminas are all in churches.

In the western world about everyone who converts to Islam is been found to be unstable. Others are jail house conversations and misinformed blacks use it as a protest point. Most give it up within 5 years.

Islam is going down simply because it is evil and impossible to reform.

Coincidentally I'm from Auchi myself. It is true there are large scale conversion to Christianity. This is however not based on the supposed barbarism associated with Islam or muslims. However it is the appeal that the new light allows spiritually lazy folks to proclaim Jesus Christ and involve themselves in haram acts.

I've got friends who ran away from the hijab because they felt purchasing and binding hair products from Brazil and Peru is civilization. They see the niqab as a strain. They see observing five daily prayers a strain. Fasting in the month of ramadan a strain. They want to consume alcohol. They want to cast odds at gambling centres without people directing judgemental looks at them.

I've actually met a girl who converted because she wanted to be with a xtian. And he couldn't be seen with her all "ninja-like" as he put it.

I never stated that the growth in population of muslims stems from conversion. Although there are sgnificant amount of converts into Islam. Yes it is as a result of increasing birth rates in subsaharan africa and the middle east. Regions where Islam is a majority force.

All my Wife siblings all got convertd from Islam except their father... Who sercetly goes to church and shout Allah akbar openly

Seriously I don't have a big reason for my conversion. Ever since I was lil I admired the Christians, despite going to an Islamic school, I didn't really see myself as a Muslim. And my conversion was a gradual process Sir.
