I've been considering using a "dumb" phone in 2018.
Partly due to some of the reasons in your post.

Research shows that more than 80% of people that use smart phones put it beside their pillow while sleeping, and when they wake up, its also the first thing they check.

You go to a formal meeting or conference and you see people placing their smart phones on the table. Silent mode or not, their attention is partly divided by the next coming WhatsApp or Facebook message.

I went out with friends to have a drink or two, and for a period of 10-15minutes in our hangout, no . All the 5 of us were busy doing one thing or the other on the phone.

You post something on Nairaland, Facebook or Instagram and you anxiously and repeatedly go back to check how many "Like" or "Comment" you have.

If its a smart phone, it must be in the hand. Most people mind have gotten to that point unconsciously. This is simply because every "ding" they hear must be responded to almost immediately.

Guys have become more shy to approach ladies the old and conventional ways. They now turn to social media platforms to meet fake slay queens.

Ladies on their part find it easier to showcase their fake lifestyles thanks to smart phones. They go to cinema shakam, swimming pool shakam, they see G-wagon their entire life-worth cannot buy, they must shakam beside it.

Even fake men like Banky-W must shakam and expose their beautiful wife unclothedness.

You take smart phone away from most people for just a day or two, and it will look as if you have taking their life away. That's simply because most simply live their lives on Smart phones.

Inform the caller that he or she is on loudspeaker once they call, this often prevents people from saying things that are meant for you alone and as a result so many squabbles are avoided. So many times i've seen people begin a conversation with private greetings and gist whilst on loudspeaker..not good at all
