Oga let's wait for the breakdown, then we know snow falls on some sides, while it's sunny on the other side.....

I expect the breakdown to reflect single & married couples + kid(s) .....

I have requested, no one is willing to offer a robust breakdown........

Of course it will be tight to save that much as a married man with kids earning that income with no additional income from the wife.

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, full time child care costs in a decent nursery for one child (aged below 3) is within the range of £1100 to £1200 per month. I won’t be surprised if there are nurseries that charge more.

However for a single guy, it’s every possible depending on what part of the country he resides.

If you guys are talking about me, I have already saved 2k in each month I've worked. But just Like someone said, I don't know for how long I can sustain the habit grin

You are single, only recently relocated to the UK, arrived in the UK (job waiting), expenses cut to bare minimum, accommodation provided by employer etc etc

If you don't save £2000 a month, all of us would flog you.....

Your earning power determines your propensity to save, minus current and recurrent expenses.......

Based on the £2100 payment pcm example, oblige us with a savings breakdown.........

A single person living on that may come forth and do the break down..my circumstances are different so I cannot do that
I do not believe a married person with kids can make savings from that amount.Dupsyshoo did a breakdown a while back..Falz has said what he earns and how much he saves..Maybe he can help with how he manages it.Whoever claimed 2100 and savings of £1k can defend it.

Which one is eating like slave? What alternative are you offering then? No matter what there will always be bills to pay.A smart person will make sure there’s a lot left over after paying necessities,if it means living in shack and cycling to work..so be it.

Hahahaha.

Let me give you a breakdown. This is monthly expenses based on living in the capital city up north. Working 9-5 Monday to Friday.

One bedroom flat - £500
Electricity - £40 (no gas as the heating is powered electronically same with the hob)
Council tax with 25% single person discount - £66
Bus pass - £54 (unlimited travel on buses and tram for one month across the entire city)
Feeding - £100 a month (including Chinese takeaway, buying lunch at work)
Miscellaneous- £100 (uber, haircut, etc)

So tell me how it isn’t possible to save more than £1,000 per month.

And you wonder why you don’t really hear about people “moaning” about getting up the property ladder up north like you hear in some parts of England.

I forgot to add that up north, there’s nothing like water/sewage charges. It’s already included in the council tax.

TV license - optional grin as long as you do not open the door for any stranger

If a Donkey works well, it's expected the Donkey offers itself treats. Turn on the heater when it's cold (not using blankets, long John's and duvet) to keep warm, interact socially, enjoy the benefits of hard work.....

For all I know, anyone can drop dead the next second..... The money the person saved, either the government inherits it or it would be spent lavishly by their NOK.......

Yet that’s what I fork out every month and so does every other parent at the nursery my child attends.

There’s actually a waiting list (as long as one year) to enrol a child in some nurseries - especially those with excellent inspection ratings.

I have a vacation at least once a year and that vacation usually includes a trip to US.

I buy all my “designer” outfit from the US (Ralph, tommy, etc) because it’s cheaper.

I’m not a person that stuck on a budget. I’m usually more financially disciplined when I’m saving towards a goal (maybe buying a house, etc). Apart from that, I couldn’t care less if the money for clothes, etc comes direct from my monthly pay cheque or savings.
