tdayof: "F16 and Rafale will perform same task well" sir not necessarily let me give u a example F16 being a single engine jet will be easily forward based since its logistic/maintenance footprint is small Rafale will need to be housed much deeper since it will need dedicated resources / facilities away from reach of hostile assets thus u can have the F16 conduct interception, CAP etc duties at a faster response time as first responders or during peace times while the same will not be possible for rafale unless on alert as per their economists they dont have the money , google but as they say where there is a will there is a way 1 Like |

tdayof: witchcrafts gone out of practice now we have the pretty and dangerous witches only IMO optimally NAF should have 3 types 1. SU35 / SU30 (deterrence) 2. JF17 (work horse) 3. tucano (coin etc) in... with lowest squadron strength till date with shortage of around 400 fighters , sure feel free to donate some aircrafts of ur own , they will bless u 2 Likes |

nemesis4u: Believe me, Nigeria won't buy Russian stuff again after Super Tucano. One hour flying, five hours shutdown for maintenance..what rubbish. Russian stuff are not industrial strength. Most wars are three year, four year affairs and believe me, no Roossian plane can do what Alpha jets have been doing in terms of reliability day in day out for the past three decades. Russian aircraft will fall apart fast and before you know you start spending all your country's money on support. In the area of support specifically, ordinary Ukraine, Belarus and Czech Republic are even more responsive on Russian aircraft than the Ruskies themselves. They have displayed more modification innovation and agile support capability for the third world than those funny mamushka/ papushka people. I suspect Nigeria will keep trying for F16s, Tornadoes, Typhoons and Grippens for a long time. Sudanese, Chadian or whatever Russian scraps they are flying are no threats. I struggle to see these guys do bombing runs every week for two months in the event of war. What i fear for Nigeria in West Africa are Rafales, Mirage 2000 and American MALE UAVs 2 Likes |

Adminisher:While I agree Russians fighters are not as good as American fighters, they are by no means "Scraps". heck even Chinese fighters are not scraps. "Nigeria will keep trying for F16s e.t.c" have Nigeria shown interest in those aircrafts before that they will "keep trying"? |

Adminisher: yes i understand ur point about Russian aircraft's regarding maintenance etc. it is true to a large extent but not necessarily the difference lies between the way the west and the russian OEM conduct their after sales business. the west OEMs creates a global chain with multiple local centers in different countries to support their products in a timely and cost effective manner. while the russians try to keep it within their country which increases time factor , costs and creates other wahalas lol the in.... guys were reduced to threatening , begging , crying when the russians relented with localizing spares/maintenance inside the country , it was a herculean and amazonian task but availability of su30mki is now 75% during peace time. anyways i cannot comment vis a vis russian and western aircrafts becz in reality when it comes to buying aircraft's there r other unrelated factors which influences a nations choice other than technical competency . eg Russian aircraft's generally comes with no strings attached , western ones comes with varying degree of extra luggage interesting info f16 which were sent to in... for flight testing , some of their onboard systems were found to vulnerable to hacks , intentional or not i dont know anyways if the russians dont clean up their act they will have serious problems conducting sales plus the buyer nation has to include ironclad sureties with regard to after sales services etc with penalty option if there is break in agreed upon terms 1 Like |

SupremeCourt: Augustine. No one was talking about hit rates, you pivoted to hit rates after your "super secret technology" statement got debunked. You brought up the Makopa when no one was talking about ATGMs. Why? Because you want to argue. And no, I didnt get banned - only you. 3 Likes |

barineh:For what you pay, the JF17 is the perfect plane for NAF... There have also been talks of integrating the A-Darter and umbani,,although the fa50 isn't a bad choice either. The other 3 you mentioned are all heavy twin engined fighter, that cost a fortune to keep in the air. And I don't think the J10 has been exported yet!! |

barineh:You should play Supreme Ruler....there you can play as Nigeria and buy all the J10s,Su30s and JF17s as you want, you can build your dream NAF, dream NN and dream army..........and build an economy that actually grows |

barineh: What will you do with all this? Your dream is not a good one believe me. Nigeria shouldn't get more than 6 squadrons of fighter jets. 2 squadron of Su30 2 squadron of F16 / Gripen E/F 2 squadron of JF17 This will give Nigerian Air Force the flexibility of weapon procurement from west, Chinese and Russians at any moment. |

iblawi: The Russians are money hungry. I doubt there's anything we would do to annoy them to the extent of having place a ban on us. Besides we've always been Neutral. Besides Western planes are very very expensive. |

iblawi: The funniest part is we can end up getting F16 but won't be of a good specification. Probably a base model. JF17 is okay for us but we obviously need another aircraft to compliment it which is where the flankers or Mig 35 should come in. |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by iblawi(m): 10:26am On Dec 29, 2017 |
tdayof: The Gripen E/F should be almost the same price as the F16 and I believe it's even better in terms of maintenance, cost of operation and maybe performance. |

slimthugchimee:Bought mine from steam....For the newest Supreme Ruler Ultimate it's like R87(BARGAIN!!) on steam now.....plus R110 if you want to buy the Great War DLC which literally means you can play from 1914 to 2070. It is quite complex to learn since you have to manage your economy(Inflation,GDP,Tax,Social Spending, Trade and diplomacy ect ect) and the Military is even more complex(If done properly) since you have to group units in to effective battlegroups(Brigade size) and terrain and especially supply play a major role. The detail in the game is incredible though, for example when starting as South Africa in the 2017 or 2020 sandbox mode, SA already has Olifant MK1b and 2, Ratel, Rooikat, Gripen, Valour class frigates, Type 209 Subs, Rooivalk ect ect I think Nigeria also starts with a squadron of JF17s...even the presidents of each country is up to date. This a rather complicated Grand Strategy game so i would say you need at least 20 hours of playing time to understand just the basics......overall i have around 150 hours on SR ultimate and around another 150 hours on the previous SR games, AND im literally still learning, especially with regards to military since it is much more in depth than it looks and than i originally thought! http://store.steampowered.com/app/314980/Supreme_Ruler_Ultimate/ |
