You mean this less than 3 years in power FG was in charge of Nigeria since independence and even during the PDP 16 years of corruption, looting and stealing, wrecking and not building infrastructures left us in darkness after looting $20 billion power funds, wrecking the 4 refineries and so on,?

PMB did all that in less than 3 years?

Nigerians who think the coming of Dangote refinery and these other private refineries would automatically bring an end to periodic scarcity, and most importantly that the prices would be cheaper or at least less than N145 are in for a shocker.

It's not always about propaganda. You said the price won't get less than 145 if Dangote refinery commence work and I showed you an instant of a filling station that refines her self and still sells at #143.

Now imagine Dangote refinery with up to 650,000bpd. A local refinery definitely cuts

I am therefore asking you, where is the oil this magical station is producing and selling at N143.
By the way,I am not aware of any local refinery that has started operation,so where is this Bovas refinery and how come there is still scarcity even in their area of operation, assuming you even understand what you are typing.Refining is different from sourcing or buying if you don't know o!

While I also agree that @tdayof's submission of Bovas refining their oil and selling is hardly correct, it's important to backup your "in for a shocker" assertion with veritable fact and economic analysis...... Or should we take this as another typical NL "chest beating"?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not rejoicing.
Nigeria is not even 1% close to the country I wish for her.
I just believe there must be way out of all this, and we must start from somewhere.
I'm not a politician, nor government employer. This is just my personal observation as a Nigerian.

Please explain

In simple arithmetic, compare the arrival of Dangote Refining and Petrochemical plant with what is happening in the Telecom sector. When that Refinery comes on stream, the first thing on its mind is profit. The second is recouping its investments and third its repaying its loans in the long and short term. Then things will normalise after the fourth or fifth year. I am expecting the Dangote group to sell fuel at between N250 - N350 in the first eighteen months to enable it pay its creditors. This will happen in the area that it will export refined petroleum products. The government will contribute its quota through tax holidays of five years as it has applied to telecoms and other sectors under the Piooner Industries incentives under our tax laws. Gradually the prices will fall after this is done.

What is there to explain. Dangote started cement production and ever since builders have know no peace. Exported cement by Dangote himself to other African countries is about half the price we pay in Nigeria. World Average price of cement is less than $5 while in Nigeria we pay $10, i bet you that the price of fuel will not be cheaper than #300/ltr with Dangote refinery on board. Just as he does with cement everytime he wants to increase he creates artificial scarcity am sure it's going to be same business model with his refinery. Dangote isn't a messiah but a greedy man whose riches is built on our collective patrimony

No more subsidy on petroleum products Nigerians should pay the market price for refined crude so the Government can spend that money on capital expenditures.
