About Two years ago,I lost my job as a Marketer with one of the banks. Before then,I was the breadwinner in my home. My husband was not working. Not too long after that,my husband abandoned me and my sons (6 and 3 years old). I heard he went after a Sugar mummy who was taking care of him. I was heartbroken. Deji has always been a lazy man,always depending on a woman to feed. He never really could fend for himself.



I moved out of our self contain apartment when I couldnt continue paying the rent. I got a room in a face me area. I was still selling food items. Anything I could lay my hands on just to make a living.


Lanre,was one of the customers of the bank where I was a marketer. He used to toast me at the time but I was not interested. After two years since I left the bank,Lanre tracked me down and started visiting me where I was living. He started taking interest again in me and I was happy as I was getting attention from a man. He would also assist me financially. Lanre is separated from his wife whom he married traditionally. Fortunately,they dont have any children.

I have been seeing Lanre for almost three months and he is already talking marriage. That seems like the right thing to do but the only problem is that Lanre wants me to leave my children with my parents. He says he doesnt want another man’s sons in his matrimonial home. He says they can come later after we have had our own kids. Lanre feels like seeing my kids from my former husband might be a hindrance of some sort.

And have you considered what if these “future” children he wants may never come? What if he has fertility issues?
Your children have been abandoned by one parent already you sending them to live with your parents is another form of abdonment . They will remember this leaving them because you want salvation from poverty?

If a man wants to be with you, he will want you and your history not parts of it. That history includes your children. It should not be up for negotiation.
