PRESS RELEASE

UPDATE ON TROOPS OPERATION IN THE LAKE CHAD REGION

Troops of operation Lafiya Dole have continued the onslaught on Boko Haram terrorists enclaves in the Lake Chad region where a factional leader of the group Mamman Nur has suffered grave injury, while one of his wives has been killed in the battle. More also about 250 foot soldiers from the Albarnawy camp have surrendered to Nigerien Authorities due to the devastating artillery and aerial bombardments by Operation Lafiya Dole troops. Many of the insurgents who fled the onslaught are now taking advantage of the "AMNESTY" offered by the Nigerien government by surrendering to Nigerien Forces.

Among the insurgents fleeing from the ongoing offensive are senior and junior commanders in the Albarnawy faction who are now attempting to melt into other communities in and around Kano, Geidam and Gashua axis unnoticed. One of such fleeing commanders is Bana Bafui. Members of the general public, particularly in Kano, Geidam, Gashua, Hadeja and the northern part of Jigawa are therefore enjoined to be vigilant and watch out for strange faces suddenly appearing in their communities and promptly report same to security agencies.

Additionally, about 700 insurgents have also surrendered to troops in the general area of Monguno following troops' clearance operations. The ongoing onslaught will be tenaciously sustained.

Recall that the Federal Government of Nigeria has since provided a window of opportunity through the Operation SAFE CORRIDOR program to insurgents who surrender willingly to be deradicalized and rehabilitated. About 300 insurgents who willingly surrendered are currently benefiting from this programme.

We call on all Boko Haram insurgents to abandon the futile struggle and take advantage of the Safe Corridor program by surrendering willingly to troops in any location nearest to them. We guarantee their safety and incorporation into the programme for deradicalization and rehabilitation.

You are please requested to disseminate this information to the general public through your news media.
Thank you for your usual cooperation .

Col Onyema Nwachukwu
Deputy Director Public Relations

Operation Lafiya Dole

Here is that necessary chawusing to complete the deradicalization. Stupid BH

As for me....i think the mrls is more effevtive, and for the mrls to be that close to the bh camp.....it means there was heavy presence of own ground troops; i think our soldiers are finally doing what we has been lacking.....immediate follow up, after bombardment.

I guess both are really effective but if MRLS rockets are properly complemented cum guided with/by an eye in the sky, such as surveillance drone or aircraft, they can be very effective. They are fast to deploy too.

there's many variables to consider.

ALPHA JET

*BOMB RELEASE ALTITUDE/SPEED
*WIND SPEED/DIRECTIONS CONDITIONS
*PILOT COMBAT DEXTERITY
*ORDNANCE WEIGHT AND FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS

MRLS
*WIND SPEED/DIRECTIONS CONDITIONS
*FIRE CONTROL COMPUTER ACCURACY
*OPERATORS COMBAT DEXTERITY

=====
SUMMARY
=====
In the ALPHA JET, higher accuracy can be easily achieved by getting the right bombing tactics while in an MRLS, accuracy is largely dependent on other uncontrollable factors like wind speed and directions.

So in effectiveness I'll go with A-JET.

Since the first suicide bombing attack on Nigerian soil in 2009, Boko Haram, the hitherto deadliest terrorist group known to man has snuffed the life out of 30,00 Nigerians, killed hundreds of Cameroonian and Chadian civilians, captured territories the size of Costa Rica and for seven years in the main, held one of Africa's largest and most powerful army to a virtual standstill?
But how is this possible? How can a bunch of an estimated 15,000 (some estimates puts it at between 7,000 to 30,000. Nobody really knows) drug addicted untrained fighters hold its own against the combined armies of the three most powerful armies in West and Central Africa.

For answers, we go back in time. To the beginning.

Nations States have no permanent allies, only interests.
This oft repeated statement is what the Nigerian government should have considered before opening itsself up for manipulations and sabotage.

The only countries which have lined up to support Nigeria in its fight against radical Islamic extremists are two of Nigeria's past (or present) enemies, the Republic of Chad and Cameroon. All francophone States, and not a single Anglophone country.
While Cameroon has to a degree been transparent in its military activities near the border with her giant Nigeria, it has in recent times gone a step further beyond and but been cautionary about launching incursions into Nigerian territory without authorization from the Nigerian government.

Chad on the other hand is a different kettle of fish. It has been implicated in the growth of the Boko Haram factions, especially the faction led by Abubakar Shekau, and only decided to cut off support from the insurgents and stop them from using its territory as a rear base area only after the opposing faction to Shekau known as Harakut-Muslimiin and thr Bukar Faction of Jamma'atu Ahlis Sunbah overran much of Northern Cameroon and threaned to cut off Chad's ligistocs route from the Cameroonian port of Douala, as well as the possibility if having to deal with his wartime enemy president Muhammadu Buhari

GONE ROGUE ?

The drying up of the money and supplies the Shekau faction received from Idris Derby coincided with the secret delivery of CH-3 Rainbow attack drones from China and Russian Mi-35 helicopters from Russia and 50 T-72 M tanks from the Ukraine.
The Nigerian army formed a tight encirclememt of known Boko Haram positions, cutting off all route for resupplies and reinforcements with the hope of starving the group into surrender, while Nigerian Air Force intensified its air campaigne against Boko Haram. Within two weeks the NAF decimated the ranks of Boko Haram, killing a third of its commanders. Those who tried to break through the army blockade were mowed down by waiting troops.

A final offensive to finnish off the weakened Jihadi group was being planned.

At this point Chad found itself on the brink of outright hostility with the Shekau led faction of Boko Haram. Chad’s President Idris Derby tried to avoid going to war against the Shekau led faction of Boko Haram by holding off the much publicised final offensive to finnish off the grouo by buying time.

How does he achieve this ?

By seeking to broker a "scam of a cease fire agreement" between Boko Haram and the Nigerian government.

It worked.

The nearly four weeks of negotiations gave Boko Haram the time it needed to lick its wounds and reinforce its ranks. Then on the 10th of October 2014, Boko Haram insurgents attacked two villages in Borno with new vigour and the ferocity of a lion, killing dozens. Before the dust settled they launched another assault on the village of Dzur, killing a quarter of its inhabitants. The lucky few escaped with their lives by fleeing into the snake infested bush in the dead of night.
And so it was that the group hitherto on the verge of defeat a month earlier with mass desertion in its ranks, broke the cease-fire agreement and captured a dozen villages across two north eastern states. Boko Haram denied a cease-fire existed and continued its bloodlust as north east Nigeria descended into chaos.

The Goodluck Jonathan administration had been scammed into a position of weakness and looked stupid. With the Presidential Elections just around the corner this was a death blow, especially against an opponent running on the banner of security. The Presidential aspirant for the AC (Action Congress), former Army General and military head of state, Muhammadu Buhari called the involvement of Nigerein, Chadian and Cameroonian troops in the fight a National Disgrace, and promised to crush Boko Haram within twelve months if elected president.

As Goodluck Jonathan's popularity plummeted, that of his opponent, former army General Muhammadu Buhari increased exponentially. Chadian strongman Idris Derby, realizing, that it had to prevent being in a position of being Nigeria's antagonist and facilitator of Boko Haram by a new Buhari administration, jumped ship and went to war against Boko Haram.

But why has, starting from late 2010 Chad being supplying weapons and cash to Boko Haram, and specifically the Shekau led faction.

Currently, the Lake Chad region has become oil producing with Chad extracting as much as a two hundred thousand barrels of crude a day from its part. The Republic of Niger which also shares the lake shore extracts around 100,000-150,000 barrels of crude of oil from the Lake Chad region each day.

Nigeria’s territory has been under explored because it can afford to, but it holds the potential to also add a similar amount of crude to the world market. Nigeria is currently the 6th largest exporter of crude in OPEC and holds the worlds 10th largest proven oil reserve with 39 billion barrels, clearly Nigeria can afford to leave its part unexplored.

Now, the amount of crude produced by Nigeria's francophone neighbours (100,000-200,000 barrels per day) is negligible compared to Nigeria’s current production of 2,2 million barrels per day but it is a doubling of whatever Chad is currently producing, and what is more, a significant portion of it lie under the island's Chad disputed with Nigeria over.

But we all know that Francophone countries all share a similar trait with France- GREED. The mere thought of such amount of crude and dollars probably just lying there is enough to warrant the area a closer look from N’djadmena and Idriss Deby.
But this should hardly come as a surprise.

The Nigerian government has from the begining being warned about the plot by the Franco alliance to destabilize Nigeria, possibly fracture it and swoop in for the spoils. Strangely enough our government seem either bewitched, complicit or both. It is hard to understand how a wealthy and powerful sovereign nation like Nigeria will tolerate and accomodate these destabilising activities in Nigeria.

Several officials of Nigeria's Directorate of State Security, the DSS have for some time alleged that Chadian weapons and support was flowing across the border. A captured former member of the Shekau led faction of Boko Haram revealed that from 2010 Chad supplied weapons and cash to the group, and in some cases Chadian intelligence services provided them with planning and mission logistics including information.

The same source revealed that before Chad launched its operation against Boko Haram in Nigeria, it sent a message to Shekau through prominent politician from Borno state, who also happens to be an ex governor, informing him that Chad was going to have to fight Shekau so as to create the nececesary cover to go after anti-Shekau insurgent factions threatening its transportation link to the sea via Northern Cameroon.

This explains why Chad invaded Nigeria to "supposedly" destroy Boko Haram, taking no permission from the Nigerian Government and not even informing the Nigeria until BBC and other news media broadcasted reports of its invasion.
The actions of the Chadians is nothing short of declaration of war. The Chadians, with French complicity, have been skillfully manipulating whatever outreach the Nigeria have tried to make to the insurgents, and on the one occasion on which the Nigerian government began negotiating with a faction of the insurgents without Chadian help or involvement, Chad quickly ran to the media to sow discord between both parties.

In 2014 Channels Television broke a story that Chadian soldiers supposedly liberated Nigerian territory formerly held by Shekau’s group, prevented a its News Crew from entering into these areas until they had finished cleaning out the local headquarters of the insurgents and taken away all prisoners, thus preventing Nigerians from gaining access to these prisoners.

Asked where these captured prisoners who probably include some lower level commanders are, the Chadians have been unable to produce them for the Nigerian government to interrogate, rather they have used excuses and sleights of hand to keep the Nigerian government from knowing the real locations and states of these captured fighters.

From the onset the Chadians have been playing a game that is at odds with the spirit of the regional cooperation they portend to embrace. For six years Chad has carried out high intensity subversive operations against the Nigerian state. By aiding and abetting Boko Haram Chad has unwittingly waged war against the Nigerian state.

The actions of Chad has come with a heavy price - Over 25,000 Nigerians killed, hundreds (possibly thousands) of Nigerian soldiers killed. This is nothing short of an act of war.

Nothing encourages aggression more than cowardice. Will the Nigerian government hold Chad accountable? Or do we pretend it never happened. Is there a price to pay for a hostile enemy involved in the murder of 20,000 innocent Nigerians?

I'll rather take a jet strike, especially if it's an 4th gen jet over an MRLS bombardment....

Anyway I like the joint military operations two the NAF and NAF. See how the drone tracked the rocket from the point it was lunched till the impact.

CHIEF OF THE AIR STAFF HOLDS MEETING WITH AIR WARRANT OFFICERS AND REGIMENTAL SERGEANT MAJORS

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on 4 January 2018, held a meeting with Air Warrant Officers (AWOs) and Regimental Sergeant Majors (RSMs), who are the links between the Commissioned and Non-Commissioned Officers of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). The meeting, which held immediately after the conclusion of a recent workshop for NAF Field Commanders, was aimed at further consolidating on the existing smooth working relations between the NAF leadership and all ranks within the Service. Consequently, briefs were entertained from AWOs from HQ NAF, the 6 NAF Commands and tri-service institutions. The briefs were mostly focused on areas of concern for airmen/airwomen and were targeted towards the improvement of the general welfare of personnel.

In his remarks at the meeting, the CAS reiterated the important role of AWOs and RSMs in all NAF units. He reminded them that, as the link between the Officers’ Cadre and the other ranks, it is expected that RSMs remain loyal and impartial in the discharge of their responsibilities. He enjoined them to always give necessary feedbacks to their Commanders to enhance and contribute to the overall policy direction and advancement of the Service. In addition, he said the AWOs and RSMs are expected to help the Service in limiting wastages in pipe-borne water and electricity consumption. Air Marshal Abubakar also laid emphasis on the expected role the AWOs and RSMs in promoting regimentation and discipline. He then urged them to continue to give their best to ensure that the NAF remains a pride to all Nigerians.

It would be recalled that in December 2017, the CAS held a similar conference with Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding, Directors, Commanders and all Air Vice Marshals in Abuja. The conferences were organized in line with the bottom-top approach to policy formulation in the NAF, as it provides a very effective feedback mechanism from the field, which has contributed immensely to the attainment of NAF objectives.

PRESS RELEASE

END OF THE ROAD FOR NOTORIOUS CULTIST KIDNAPPER AND MASS MURDERER- DON WANEY

The authorities of 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt wish to inform the peace loving people of Omoku in ONELGA in particular, Rivers State and indeed the entire good people of Niger Delta in general that the notorious cult leader, kidnap kingpin and mass murderer Don Waney is dead.

Recall that in the early hours of Monday 20th November 2017, troops of 6 Division Nigerian Army acting on credible information from some patriotic members of the public raided the evil Don Waney enclave in Omoku, ONELGA Rivers State where shocking discoveries of assorted weapons, dynamites, bags of suspected cannabis, full military camouflage uniforms, military boots, military communication radios, 10 human skulls and human bones were discovered. Additionally, in continuation of the operation on Tuesday 21st November 2017, the troops also exhumed decomposing bodies of some of his victims in his shrine in the glaring eyes of the media who were invited to witness first hand.

Perhaps not satisfied with the numerous lives of innocent citizens he took, Don Waney masterminded the despicable New Year day mayhem in Omoku in which he led his notorious gang of criminals to murder 23 peace loving citizens of Omoku when they were returning from Cross Over Service at about 1:30am on Monday 1st January 2018.

Intense surveillance activities on him and his gang by the Department of State Services (DSS) Rivers State Command revealed that after committing these atrocities he relocated to a neighbourhood within Enugu Town in Enugu State where he rented an apartment and started living among unsuspecting neighbours within the community.

From the relative safety of his newly-rented apartment, Don Waney was already perfecting plans to wrought another mayhem in Omoku in which he was to attack churches, schools, Army and Police locations and the RESIDENCES of the generality of the already traumatized people of Omoku. However, following his successful geo-location to his new Enugu neighbourhood hideout by the DSS Rivers State Command, a combined team of troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army Enugu and personnel of DSS Rivers State Command raided the hideout to arrest him and his other accomplices. Incidentally on sensing that the combine team were closing in on his residence, Don Waney, his Second- in- Command (Ikechukwu Adiele) and another gang member (Lucky Ode) attempted to escape through the back exit of the apartment and were shot down by the eagle eyed troops in the process. One of them died on the spot while the other 2 who sustained gun shot wounds eventually died while being evacuated for medical attention.

The remains of Don Waney and his cohorts were brought back to Port Harcourt Rivers State by the combine team and handed over to the Rivers State Police Command for further action.

To this end, the authorities of 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt wishes to use this opportunity to extend their condolences to the families of all the victims of the evil Don Waney and his gang. We also wish to solicit your further cooperation in volunteering useful information to track down and arrest the remaining gang members so as to bring them to justice for a peaceful, prosperous and secured Omoku community, ONELGA, Rivers State and the entire Niger Delta region.

You are kindly requested to disseminate this information to the general public. Thank you for your usual cooperation.

BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS TRICKS OF EVADING AIR RAIDS UNRAVELLED

The Boko Haram terrorists tricks of evading air raids have been unravelled by the Theatre Command of Operation LAFIYA DOLE combating insurgency in the North East of Nigeria. The Boko Haram terrorists group have always perfected survival tricks to continue their nefarious activities through enticement, deceit, concealment and outright propaganda. These were decoded through credible intelligence which became imperative for the public to be aware of it.

The Insurgents deployed special roofing techniques in order to avoid air detection and bombardment from the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). They resort to roofing their living accommodation and hideouts with a mixture of coated sugar and mud so that the roof will not reflect when there is sun shine. Decisive measures have been taken to deal with this deception.

There is no doubt that the main Boko Haram terrorists group factional leader, Abubakar Shekau, is in a terrible state of health and not much a threat as he is now a spent horse, waiting for his waterloo. However, Abu Mus'ab Albarnawiy, who has been busy deceiving and recruiting gullible persons especially misguided youths into his fold will soon be captured. We reliably learnt that some misguided persons, particularly youths, are getting conscripted into the sect through enticements. They are usually attracted to the sect because of the deceitful and erroneous impression that Abu Musab’s Albarnawiy brand of “jihad” and insurgency is refined and genuine. This is far from it. Both factions are terrorists’ organizations whose activities constitute crimes against humanity. Their nefarious activities run contrary to the religion of Islam.

The faction has recruiters all over the country, especially in the north east. However, their clearing house for such conscripts is at Potiskum, Yobe State. Efforts are ongoing to track those involved.

There is no doubt that Mamman Nur Algadi has been wounded and he is more or less a cripple since 2014 at Mubi, he was hit by NAF while on motorcycle. He is not a fighter, rather he taught in Boko Haram terrorists enclave and he is also a member of the Shurah Council of the terrorists group. He was wounded along with one Abu Mujahid, an indigene of Saminaka, Kaduna State, who was later executed by Abubakar Shekau.

In view of the above, the general public should be wary of these unscrupulous elements attempting to recruit more youths into their sect.

I support and back ur suggestion.

I've been banging on about Chad's duplicity and destabilisation strategy for a long time. Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, DRC, CAR, Nigeria, Cameroun and recently Equatorial Guinea.

A gallant Nigerian Army officer, Major MM Hassan, has died after a grenade he was carrying reportedly "fell" exploded, killing him instantly. Major Hassan was very popular in Damboa, at a point he was bestowed with the title of Sarkin Yaki-meaning the King of War by locals
