So as an atheist , why is murder right or wrong and on what basis did you make your judgement ?

Are you sure your God's actions potray peace, patience and harmony? His actions in the bible says other wise.

"Sa 15:2 - This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt.
1Sa 15:3 - Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’ ”

If murdering someone isn't an act of love but of hate , violence , wickedness, then what do you consider this injunction of total annihilation of people including infants and animals to be? Where is the patience, peace and harmony in this act? Do you consider the killing of infants an act of patience and love?

To prevent further evil in the future . And from the bible , we can see that people who escaped the judgement (per se ) went on to commit heinous acts against humanity .

I think you should read 'Is God a moral monster' by Paul Copan . The book answers these questions easily .

I see totalitarian and draconian acts in your God's nature. Acts that are very immoral even by his standard that you listed earlier.

God gave them ample time to change and they failed to . We have discussed this before mbok

Didn't I destroy your weak arguments the last time we argued? Oh yeah it's you who made a ludicrous argument : Intelligence can exist without a mind . Laughable!

The Dystheist believes God is evil and of a morally depraved nature . You are not making any serious argument just like your friend .

I will admit, you are intelligent but not wise. Knowledge divided by understanding equal Wisdom. Google search (intelligence without a brain) I'm sure you will find many examples. It is the Universe that is showing us that, not a man in the clouds.

And I never said your god is evil, I said your god is responsible for evil by default having created the devil.

If a pastor comes home to find his wife raped and chopped to pieces should he....
Persevere and thank god for this extreme test of faith?
Blame god for not protecting his wife?
Blame his wife for not believing in god enough so that god would have protected her from evil?

Just a thought but I already know what a god defender will say. "God works in mysterious ways. Its not for us to understand"
Illogical cop-out

The mind(The non-physical part of you ) can exist without the brain .

I think I understand what you are doing : You are using "intelligence" in lieu of "mind"

That's okay then .

It is the Universe that is showing us that, not a man in the clouds.

I've explained this before , you have a panentheistic view of the universe . You are not rejecting the existence of God . You just have a different view of God : The universal mind/universal intelligence/universal spirit is the non-physical part of the universe

There is no man in the cloud - this is a deliberate misrepresentation of the Christian worldview

And I never said your god is evil, I said your god is responsible for evil by default having created the devil.

God did not create the devil for the purpose of evil so God is not responsible for evil . Satan acted on his own volition , it was his expression of freewill that makes him commit evil .

The joy of the Christian is eternal life . Death was defeated when Christ resurrected . The martyrs experienced obnoxious deaths . Even Christ Himself died in an ignoble way : He died on a cross like a common criminal .

God's nature provides a reference point for moral values and duties.

Somehow i always like ti stress how people found things out, mind if i ask how you figured the nature of God?

Moral goodness like love , peace , patience , harmony etc are of His nature.

What are the basic consequences that makes things like love, peace, patience, harmony morally good?

Are they good because these are God's nature or are they good because their are intrinsic implications and elements that spells out their goodness?

what makes moral goodness, good?

Murdering someone isn't an act of love or of peace and harmony but of hate , violence , wickedness - these are incongruous with the nature of God .

So to you murder is wrong because it is incongruous to the nature of God?

So as an atheist , why is murder right or wrong and on what basis did you make your judgement ?

I have a definition of morality that shapes my moral judgement.

Moral actions are actions that decreases human suffering and/or betters societal well being, justice, freedom and equality

so try to reconcile murder with the definition above.

They are good because they are in accordance to God's nature as the epitome of moral goodness . I tried circumventing the euthyphro dilemma but you still brought it up anyway . The third option is that God's nature is the standard - His laws stem from His nature as the paragon of moral goodness .

So if there are instances where God showed traits of hate or evil, in essence these becomes good instead? There are no bench mark to measure what is moral or not, what ever is in the nature of God = good. what ever is not = bad?

You are a christian, very good.

As an atheist , why is something morally good ?
Moral actions are actions that decreases human suffering and/or betters societal well being, justice, freedom and equality
