OK I will. When did you submit your passport? Has your final decision changed to approved? Can you see your counterfoil and visa validity status on your account?

Greetings all:

I applied for PDG and submitted my application in June 2017 and not response till December 2017 and was refused. Find below their response:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

Though i have been working for about 15 years after my degree and have a masters but was advised to apply for PDG. I am reapplying for Sept 2018 intake how do i go about it. Should i go for another masters or PDG?
Thanks

Sorry for the delay. With your years of experience and masters degree, you should join the express entry aspirant. Even if you must go for study permit, why are you not going for PhD to show academic progression. Express entry will be a perfect option for you in my opinion.

You do have a chance with study permit. All depends on how you craft your application. Age is no barrier, how long you have taken off from school is no barrier. Just portray yourself as a genuine student and you would be golden. And on another note, to correct a wrong perception I read here, too much documents doesn't show desperation. Show as much documents as required to show the totality of your circumstance. The problem isn't too much documents, but too much unnecessary documents. I have seen people submitting their car registration documents. Talk of unnecessary.

Thanks a lot, i really appreciate your time for the response.

Hi
there is a mistake in the "name" in the letter of introduction.
Just a single letter. Letter N instead of M. please what can i do about it?

I can't get another one but it is going to take time and I do not want to be late in submitting my application.
Should i leave it alone? or what can I do.

Also about home ties. I do not have anything to prove strong home ties. Please can you examples.
NB. Program is one year.

Bro dont waste your time and money to re-apply , same happened to me last year, in my view with master degree u dont stand any chance of approval with PDG. better look for a PHD admission. I have MBA but still skeptical about approval. Trying to see if i can get a PHD if not i might try my luck again with MBA

About the home tie, I will be sharing an excerpt from a recent frankrobben's post,

"FAMILY TIES IN CANADA OR HOME COUNTRYProspective travellers who were refused with this point wondered why they should have a family in Canada before beinggiven the visa. Note that the full statement is “family in Canada OR family in your home country”. So its either you failed to prove each criterion or both criteria, that is, whether you have family ties in Canada or whether you have family ties to your home country. This is what you do :Show sufficient ties to your home country i.e. what will compel you to return home?

1-) Do you have a spouse and kids(minors) and are you leaving them behind?

2-) Do you have elderly parents who depend on you?

3-) Do you own businesses/property that you need to continue managing?

4-) Do you have adequate funds?

5-) Do you have family members whom are not accompanying youto Canada? All these mentioned are HOME TIES, so if you have any of the following listed, endeavor to show evidence to each of them and make sure you add it to your application"

Also, if you have a job in Nigeria, you can show proof.

Lastly, about the name issue, personally, I do not think it will be an issue, but if you want to do something about it, You can do any of the following ;
1. Do an affidavit to state the spelling error.
2. Write a short letter to explain the spelling error
3. Get a new letter of introduction with the correct name.

Best wishes

I read on another forum that once you have more than 5years work experience PGD is not your best take for approval with your 15years work experience and a masters degree the most reasonable career progress would be a PhD or a second masters if you can convince VO why you need a second Masters.

Your 300 level and 400 level.... do you have an idea of what your CGPA would be in just the last two years of study?

I did a 5 year course... year one to year 3, I averaged on 3.0 or 3.1. I had 4.2, 3.72 respectively in year 4 and 5, still ended up with a 2:2(3.47). are you implying that this GPA can get me a direct admission for M. Sc?

I really can't say but i know some schools in canada only consider the last two years of study for grade point average

I'm also heading for the Spring 2018(BSc to be precise). We can possibly relate.

In respect to your complaint,
I'm sorry to hear your application got refused the second time.
Please you can check previous post on this thread where i mentioned how best to tackle
PURPOSE OF VISIT &
PERSONAL FINANCIAL STATUS AND ASSEST.
I guess you aren't getting things right on your application, or your SOP was weak to explain things to the VO.

Meanwhile, let me give a breakdown of things you need to do next.

PURPOSE OF VISIT - Are you going for a second degree? If not... Your chosen field of study in Canada should be relevant to previous studies or your job role.
Did your SOP highlight the following -

1-) Your academic background explained briefly
2-) Why you choose Canada not Nigeria.
3-) Why university of Winnipeg
4-) The program of choice.
5-) How you intend to finance your studies in Canada without working.
6-) What you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you in the future.

Get the above done on your SOP and Pm some responsible monikers here to review them for you.

PERSONAL ASSET AND FINANCIAL ESTABLISHMENT -

√Are you currently employed?
Did you add your salary bank statement/Payslips?

√Do you have any family landed properties or business?
Did you add it to your app that such land will be willed to you as part of your inheritance or you're a shareholder in your family company and will be coming back to take the business to a greater height.

Lastly If you're gainfully employed Add your CV, Letter of employment, introductory letters from employer, work I.D, your certificates etc.....

Never to worry okay, your next application will turn out to be successful.

Also, Its very necessary to order for your GCMS NOTE (Very important), As this will give us an insight on what the visa officer said concerning your APP.

Regards,
Frank

Thank you very much Sir !!...I guess because I never wrote an SOP that’s why it was refused! And it was paper application!!!!....Please is the online Application more advisable!!!....I’ll construct a nice SOP and send it to you !!!....Thank You very much Sir !!

I submitted my application for study permit on 16th November 2017. I am yet to get a response from IRCC till date. School has resumed and the deadline for resumption is 19th Jan 2018. My school is Carleton University.

I will like to enquire if IRCC still approves application after the deadline for resumption.
