Intelligence has nothing to do with beating up a woman. I've seen frustrated, illiterate, and introverted men not touch their women even if they mess up. The question is 'Why do men beat their wives?'

I believe it has to do with social conditioning. If you grow up in an abusive and aggressive environment, the tendencies to hurt your wife will be high. Upbringing plays a significant role.

Also, another question you should ask is 'why do wives get beaten up?' Most times, instinctively a man shows dominance by showing his strength (also in the animal kingdom). So if a lot of women know this, there will be less assaults on them if they watch their tongues. So if you claim that only intelligent men don't touch their wives, the wives are also intelligent not to provoke the man to a stage of rage.

In a country where teachers and even university lecturers are allowed to flog or beat their students or pupils, we are shocked by this? In a country where the men are expected to cater for their wives or girlfriends 100%, are we really surprised by this? When females are taught or brainwashed into believing the best way to make money is to get a rich or financially okay guy, are we still shocked?

Let's be honest here, majority of wife or women beaters do so because they were provoked/frustrated. There is a minor percentage that do so because they are just plain evil. The provocation might be intentional or unintentional and no man is incapable of being violent. I have seen rich men go broke, turn into drunkards and/or drug users and ended up resulting to violence against their spouse. I've also seen guys that over pampered their women only to discover that they are cheating, the guys just went nuts! I've seen guys that were struggling to take care of their family only to discover the woman is secretly building house in the village, I've seen men find out after 20 years of marriage that the children are not his, can you blame such a man for his rage?

I laugh when I see softies talk about never hit a woman under no circumstances, I have an uncle who caught his wife putting poison in his food, he recorded her and showed it to both families, will you blame such a man for going nuts? Life is crazy and I'll be the last to judge a fellow human being when I'm not perfect myself so the best advice for ladies in violent situations is to just LEAVE! If a man is feeding, clothing and keeping a roof over your head, what exactly are you contributing? Babies, is this your life ambition? What happens when the man is no longer financially buoyant? Be an asset to your man, make it difficult for him to mess up. You can be submissive but never ever be USELESS!
