Of course if that's what you want age is not a barrier. In my class then we had students over age 30.

Yes
But it requires another degree (BMLS) via Direct Entry. A very good CGPA can help you (very high 2.1, if it's 2.2 or third class just forget it).
Once you get the BMLS degree, you automatically get the license to practice as a Medical lab scientist.
2.2 is acceptable, even in medicine.

Well I won't dispute that cos I have no clue which school you are quoting. Every school with their requirements but majority I know only accept 2.1 (the ones I know).

Well 2.2 for any course in the college of medicine is debatable anywhere. Well like I said I dunno where you are quoting as such I will just agree with you but I have my reservations.

UNN accepts 2.2. I know 'cos i graduated with 2.1 and applied for medicine there in 2014. In its direct entry screening exam, i got 290, but i was not offered admission, while a girl that scored 300 with 2.2 degree was given admission. She had been applying for up to 3 times, but each time she would score low in d DE screening exam, until God helped her that yr and her score increased. They are numerous i know with 2.2 that got medicine with high score in DE screening. In UNN, even if u have 1st class with low score in its internal DE screening, no admission for u. In that yr, more than 25 persons gained admission to study med lab sci with DE screening score as low as 210. It's still d same till today. I'm currently a student at UNN, via direct entry.

Try UTME cos of the preference of HND from most schools as requirements.

What do you guys think...I got admission in the states to study med lab but was denied the visa(felt so bad ..,still feeling depressed till now...never knew it was that difficult to obtain a US student visa) .now I have deferred the admission till august. Should I really go back for my visa or go purchase a direct entry for med lab here in Nigeria? am 25 and working in a pharmaceutical firm but my love for med lab keeps increasing

have been reading the comments hear from the first page. am a student of Medical Laboratory Science. I really like the course and dont regret studying it. but have observed that Doctors and Medical Laboratory Scientists are always fighting each other over one thing or the other, though Pharmacist, Physiotherapist and Radiographers seems to be quiet or silent concerning their profession or is it because their Association is not as strong as MLS own(Mlscn) I really want to know??

Yes. Let her try UNN. I know sb who gained admission into med lab. sci. at UNN 2 yrs ago with OND SLT. Just score high in its internal DE screening, and u'll be given admission. Don't lose hope; it's possible.

the other associations and council of other health professions are also strong..and not like we and doctors are fighting, it z just a little misunderstanding, soon it will be over and each profession will know their limit

Kudos to all of you who has sustained the thread in my absence. @Collins onovo, Med. Lab. Technician salary depends on where you work. Salaries in private labs varies depending on location and terms of employment. For those in government work, that too depends on whether it is State government of Federal government. Salary for government workers depends on prevailing circular. Think of any amount from 10,000 to around 80, 000 and above. Cheers

Pls bro,,,, I have a National DIploma in Science Laboratory Technology with a Upper credit.... I wanna study Medical Laboratory Science in UNN..... through Direct Entry,, pls advice pls
