But low cut hair is not limited to Catholic schools,
The Government School I attended also had such law...

if she doesn't want to cut her hair ,the parents should enroll her in a school that allows long hair.

They will soon turn this one to denominational war

The comments here shows the reason why Nigeria remains backward and our leaders steal with impunity. We have all adopted the "subservience" posture. The Nigerian constitution, and I am sure other constitutions, has a supremacy clause. All rules made by any institution, body or agency which is inconsistent with the provision of that constitution is void to the extent of such inconsistency. That is the law and it is bigger than any other institution.
I am sure that the Kenyan constitution will have guaranteed her rights to dressing, expressing religious believes as well as rights of association. She should fight when those guaranteed rights are trampled upon. it is only then that our leaders will start either respecting or fear us. If the Catholic can't accept the dictates of the Constitution, they should relocate their school to a polity that supports their view. They are not bigger than the Constitution.

Let's start defending our rights.

I am sure if the instruction was for her to wear mini skate and cloths that will expose her unclothedness, she wouldn't have rejected it.

"The girl identified as Sharon Akinyi maintained that she could not betray her faith citing that women are allowed to have long hair as it is considered their covering".

Since you can't betray your faith, let your faith build your kind of school for you.
The op self, there is different btw completely shaving of hair and cutting of hair,in this case, she was asked to cut her hair, not shave her hair.
In Benue state, almost all the schools adopt the policy be it catholic, anglican or govt schools, you cannot challenge it.
Ask that same girl, she ia not a vagin by now ye she quote bible to defend her actions.
Devil is a bastard.

I attended a Catholic school, I had my hair cut and after my waec, I stopped cutting my hair. Today, my hair is fully grown and I almost used to forget that I once had it cut.
My dear, that school that made me cut off my hair shaped my future and prepared me for an adult life. I can't ever thank that school and my teachers enough.

But seriously, why do schools mandate female students to cut their hair?
I sincerely want to know.

Because, why would you spend the early years of your life cutting your hair only to end up buying another person's (Brazilian/indian) hair later in life?

It doesn't make sense

Brazilian and Indian hair is not a function of long or short hair. Ladies with long natural hair still fix hair extensions without qualms.

Low haircuts are meant to ensure uniformity in appearance and lessens the stress of hair grooming as students will most likely be in the school for months at a time as boarders. It also removes the distraction hair making might bring.
Rules are rules and for as many that insist on a low haircut, there are those that don't. Her parents can make other arrangements for her.

Your assumption is spurious. It's not the society that determines the people inside it rather it's the people that make and shape society to their taste.Environmental possibilism not Environmental determinism.

The hair distract and consume their study time, most especially boarding students. struggling to make the hair at weekends is time consuming. She has alot of time to make any kind of hair style she wants after secondary school, some kids are just so stubborn these days. if her parents can't force her to cut the hair and go learn, do you think that spoilt brat will obey school rules and regulations when she goes to school?

Everything has to make sense to you, that is why the world is going the way its going.
simple instruction,you want sense making.

As a young girl that is in the formative stage of life, you dont need distractions, you need to fix your person first. Then when you are old enough and passed out of sec school, you can wear long hair so far you can aford it.
