That it is not useful now doesn't mean it wasnt important for your education then.

Bro it was USELESS to my education then and it is annoying to my memory now.

To make things worse, my school actually had over 50 computers which were locked in a store wasting away, while we had to visit the typing lab and learn that nonsense. Talk about misplaced priorities.

I feel like stoning somebody.

I hated that course like mad. I did it in secondary school & during my NCE days, in fact then eh I pray for the lecturer to get sick, not to come & if she was able to come I'll be praying she doesn't embarrass one when asking questions & you fail to answer

shame on those teachers that made us believed that
E.G means 'for example' instead of 'example given'

i.e means 'that is' instead of 'in essence'...

You're just an illiterate fool.

EG and IE are Latin abbreviations.

EG - Examplia Gratia

IE & Id Est

this is very incorrect, the dictionary proved otherwise; as E.G truly mean for example and I.e mean that is

This is wrong bro. The teachers were right-

e.g is Latin for exempli gratifa- which means 'for example'

i.e is Latin for id est- which means 'that is, in other words, namely'

No sir... shame on you

e.g means "for example".... i.e means "that is"
..... check your dictionary.... they are gotten from latin words... i.e is from the latin word "id est" which means "that is" and e.g is "exampli gratia" translated as "for example".

You're wrong on all levels. Stop misleading people.

I.e. and e.g. are both abbreviations for Latin terms.

I.e. stands for id est and means roughly "that is."

E.g. stands for exempli gratia, which means “for example.”

Your teachers were right all along, you just weren't paying attention.

That the ignorant dude got 100 likes would show you how low our education had gone. No wonder they believe in talking snakes and voted in, a Cow herder

It's meant for a secretary who keeps minutes during meetings.. to be able to get all the information and later translates it to a proper English for documentation.. it's quiet cool. Though It was silly sitting down to study it for me..

I must confess that Shorthand is the reason why i am still in college and i have to spend years ahead before i will graduate. I have been continuesly failing this course since from NCE one to NCE two. When i discover that i will not graduate if i have not passed the course and i have now written my NCE one exam for the first and second semester and i have passed shorthand exams with poor grade. In my first semester exam, i scored D and E and in second semester. I must re-write another exam for my NCE two that is for First and Second semester. I hate the course and those disturbing and annoying lecturers taking the course and they don't even favour you when you fail the course. They are wicked to the extent that they always disturb us with home work assignment while we are still busy with other courses in school, but it is none of their business. Even if you score 39 in exam, they will fail you and you must re-write next year. The course is useless to any business students and don't have value in our life. I totally and spiritually hate shorthand and this is why i keep failing and don't have passion to learn it. I see this as wasting time and energy learning shorthand. Learning programming is sweeter than learning useless shorthand.
