You're wrong on all levels. Stop misleading people.

I.e. and e.g. are both abbreviations for Latin terms.

I.e. stands for id est and means roughly "that is."

E.g. stands for exempli gratia, which means “for example.”

Your teachers were right all along, you just weren't paying attention.

Lol..
What was his response to you?

Bro, i can relate. I can't even transcribe 15wpm... N I'm a finalist year student cry

I have already graduated last year 2017 but still registered for the shorthand i had failed in my NCE two. Shorthand is like a magic to me and even Mathematics is not that harder than Shorthand to me. Something that you will be given a short period of time to cram and read it in next class lecture. It is one mark per successful reading and you will not be given any mark upon starting and didn't finish reading it. I regretted a lot for accepting admission to study Business Education during my college studies. My brain does not like Shorthand and will not familiar with its concept. The more i learn it, the more i forget everything about it. Sometimes, i acted like a mad going anywhere with my Shorthand textbooks in my pocket just to learn and not fail the course, but still failed.

Lol. This has made me remember JSS 1. I disliked that short hand thing. The only thing I got easily there was consonants. After that everything became jaga Jaga for me.

shame on those teachers that made us believed that
E.G means 'for example' instead of 'example given'

i.e means 'that is' instead of 'in essence'...
They are right. I.e and e.g are both Latin words not English.

I.e stands for id est which means "that is".

e.g stands for exempli gratia which means "for example".

I know journalists actually use it. Its faster compared to writing down sentences when doing an interview or something of that nature

e.g. Means exampli gratia translates to English as "for example" and I.e. Means Id est. It means "that is" in English. They are both of Latin origin. Shaming your teachers is of no importance if you still haven't checked for their correct meanings after years of leaving them.

Bro it was USELESS to my education then and it is annoying to my memory now.

To make things worse, my school actually had over 50 computers which were locked in a store wasting away, while we had to visit the typing lab and learn that nonsense. Talk about misplaced priorities.

I feel like stoning somebody.

Sorry. It was useful in more sensible parts of the world.

Look inwards. Maybe u were the problem.
