..... Some call it cunning, definitely ruthless...to some,it's amoral while to millions,it's a lifesaver.... That's how controversial Robert Greene's classic: The 48 Laws Of Power actually turns out to become. But in my own opinion, hmmmm! A masterstroke. My favourite Laws are: Law 4:Always say less than necessary and Law 9:Win through your actions, never through argument. So,which of these sophisticated laws is your favourite? 12 Likes

Create an air of mystery 7. Get others to do the work for you, but always take the credit 8. Make other people come to you. Use bait if necessary 9. Win through your actions, never through arguments. 10. Infection: avoid the unhappy and unlucky 11. Learn to keep people dependent on you. 12. Use selective generosity and honesty to disarm your victim 13. When asking for help, appeal to their self interest, not to their mercy or gratitude 14. Pose as a friend, work as a spy 15. Crush your enemy totally 16, use absence to increase respect and honor 17. Keep others in suspense, cultivate an air of unpredictability 18. Do not build fortresses to protect thyself, isolation is dangerous 19. Know who you are dealing with. Do not offend the wrong person. (Sadly, the Nigerian police are fond of being foolish at this..) 20. Do not commit to anyone ( loverboys have you heard) 21. Play a sucker to catch a sucker : seem dumber than your mark 22.Use the surrender tactic, transform weakness into power 23. Concentrate your forces 24. Play the perfect courtier 25. Re-create yourself 26. Keep your hands clean 27. Play one people's need to believe to create a cultlike following 28, enter action with boldness 29. Plan all the way to the end 30. Make your accomplishments seem effortless 31. Control the options: get others to play with the cards you deal. 32. Play to people's fantasies 33. Discover each man's thumbscrew 34. Be royal in your own fashion: act like a king to be treated like one 35. Master the art of timing. 36. Disdain things you cannot have: ignoring them is the best revenge. 37. Create compelling spectacles 38. Think as you like, but behave like others. 39. Stir up waters to catch fish 40. Despise the free lunch( slay queens will not listen) 41. Avoid stepping into a great man's shoes 42: strike the shepherd and the sheep will scatter 43: work on the hearts and minds of others. 44. Disarm and infuriate with the mirror effect 45. Preach the need for change, but never reform too much at once ( APC fooled us) 46. Never appear too perfect 47. Do not go past the mark you aimed for; in victory, learn where to stop 48. Assume formlessness 314 Likes 54 Shares |

Law 13: When Asking for Help, Appeal to People’s Self-Interest, Never to their Mercy or Gratitude If you need to turn to an ally for help, do not bother to remind him of your past assistance and good deeds. He will find a way to ignore you. Instead, uncover something in your request, or in your alliance with him, that will benefit him, and emphasize it out of all proportion. He will respond enthusiastically when he sees something to be gained for himself. Law 16: Use Absence to Increase Respect and Honor Too much circulation makes the price go down: The more you are seen and heard from, the more common you appear. If you are already established in a group, temporary withdrawal from it will make you more talked about, even more admired. You must learn when to leave. Create value through scarcity. 116 Likes 11 Shares |

Good read for Nigerian politicians and business men in cutthroat industries. The book has an evil aura and the author doesn't look like someone who practise his laws. “Everyone assumes I practise all of my own laws but I don’t. I think anybody who did would be a horrible ugly person to be around" - Robert Green Source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/books/authorinterviews/9695967/Why-Robert-Greene-isnt-who-you-think.html 32 Likes 1 Share |

Law 2: Never put too much trust in friends, learn to use enemies Meanwhile under law 12 back then when I was reading the book, and I saw "Open their shield with honesty, then deceive." I couldn't but wonder what is going on on the mind of the author, one thing for sure is, he is a criminal 19 Likes

The author of that book has this evil aura which can be felt through reading his books. I read one of his books, 'The art of Seduction' about 8 years ago and I started feeling so different from who I used to be. Nevertheless, I completed the massive book but picked the good points and dropped the bad ones 22 Likes 2 Shares |
