I Am A Christian And Going To Heaven Is Not My Target by Meajor(op):
I know from seeing my topic, one might start thinking I’m an atheist, but no, I am a Christian who solely trust in Jesus for my salvation which is entirely by grace through faith.
Now I’ve seen many believers who get carried away with the mentality of going to heaven that they forget that making it to heaven is entirely by grace, its not on account of our works lest any should boost Eph. 2:8. Now since salvation in its entirety is of God, and to them who believes shall not perish but have everlasting life, as stated in John 3:16 and Also John 1:12, wat the Bible is saying is that to those who have believe, they are given the ticket to heaven, let me pause here and give an illustration; if you’ve been given an invitation card to see the president, you don’t sit down and start wishing for an invitation card again, because you’ve already been given one, now what you’ll be bothered about is what to wear, how to act, and what to present.
Now using the above illustration and applying to our Christian race, we’ve already been given the invitation, in fact we are made citizens of heaven (Philippians 3:20), all on our account of believing in Christ Jesus and His work of redemption on the cross.
Then you’ll ask if heaven is not my target then what?
Bible have urge us as believers to bear fruits, fruits that will last.(John 15:16), And to store up treasures in heaven. (Matthew 6:19-20) Like Paul before his departure in the book of 2 Timothy 4:7-8 says I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
Just like Apostle Paul , we as believers are expected to have the same mentality. Salvation has freely been given, what shall we appear before the master with? Remember on that day all our works shall be tasted by fire, and it’ll be a shame on me to appear before my Lord and savior empty handed.
Now what?
• Let’s run the race that is set before us with faith and perseverance
• Love your neighbor as yourself.
• Treat other the same way you’ll love to be treated.
• Let your lifestyle preach a better sermon than your mouth.
• Since it is an individual race, no one should judge, for only the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is our judge.
• Do not become a hypocrite at the cost of your journey.
• Seek to please God above all. You better get cast out now than to get cast out later.
For every good thing you do, not for the praise of men, your father in heaven will reward you.
GOING TO HEAVEN IS A DONE DEAL, WHAT AM I TAKING TO HEAVEN IS MY PRIORITY.
Thank you and God bless you.

Nice... but judging from your write up one can still say heaven is your Target that's why you adhere to the requirement of faith in his finished work on the cross to enjoy grace.

You also said "we shouldn't become hypocrites at the cost of our journey" which I'm guessing is to heaven, how do you claim you are on a journey to heaven and still say its not your Target, wrong headline.

. You see going to heaven is strictly by grace through faith... So it means making it to heaven is purely a free gift, given to anyone who trust Jesus as his lord and savior... Since that be the case, Target is what you set to achieve and nothing I can do on my own to make heaven, I just receive.... My target is never to appear before His throne empty handed... You don't plan on how to get money to kano, when you already have the money, rather you'll be consign with which bus park to use, what to wear, what to eat etc... Our mindset should not be how to enter heaven but what are we taking their.

If Salvation has been freely given, aren't you contradicting yourself by the emboldened above?

the works to be tested is not to condemn us, to to give to every man as he deserve and some after the work is tested will be left with nothing ( 1 Corinthians 3:13-14)

Let's adopt this Kano analogy(which we are taking as our heaven), a friend of yours on seeing you embark on a journey, out of curiosity asks you where you are going, and just because you already have the money to travel to Kano with you, you replied by saying Kano is not your target..... Does that make sense?
